Lola’s began back in 2006 with a simple aim: to bake beautiful, fresh cakes every day. Starting as a small bakery, we quickly grew and went on to open flagship store in Selfridges and, today, we have over 30 locations in and around London!
Freshness has always been at the heart of what we do. We bake around the clock to ensure our customers receive the very best cupcakes and cakes for every occasion. A commitment that still defines who we are today.
We care deeply about the experience each customer has with Lola’s. We couldn’t eat the cake because it was way too salty for human consumption! I had to throw it away. The sponge was so dry that it crumbled when cutting it. I will not recommend it to anyone. It was for my daughter’s birthday and we were very disappointed.

I am sorry to hear that you were very disappointed with your experience and found the cake to be too salty, and the sponge to be dry and crumbly.
We do recommend our cakes to be served at room temperature, as this can sometimes affect the taste and texture of our sponge.
I can assure you that all our products are made using high quality ingredients and are baked fresh for the day of delivery but i will pass this feedback onto our bakery.

Red Velvet for 1st birthday
Ordered a red velvet cake for my daughter’s 1st birthday. Great consistency, taste and presentation. Highly recommend if you’re wondering which flavour to go with! It was a hit with both adults and kids.

£47.50 for a red velvet cake that was…
£47.50 for a red velvet cake that was apparently “fresh” — unless Lola’s definition of fresh means fossilised.
I specifically asked the staff member if the cake was fresh and was told it had arrived the day before and was perfectly fine.
When we cut it at home, it was the driest cake I’ve ever eaten.
There is no way this cake was one day old. It existed purely as a birthday candle holder before going straight in the bin.
Honestly, I’ve had supermarket cakes for a quarter of the price that tasted better and actually resembled cake. Very disappointing and a complete waste of money.
Lesson learned — never again.
