Friendly welcome and great advice. The lady who served us wasn’t pushy and listened to us as well.

Both of the members of staff were lovely, knowledgeable and very helpful. I was given as much time as I needed to make a decision about the style and size of chair and to choose the material. There was also a much greater selection of chairs than I thought their would be.

Very helpful and welcoming staff. Provided the information we needed to make an informed decision that was best for our needs .

The staff were great at the Hove showroom. They were so lovely and friendly and so happy ro help.
They knew the products and available options and gave great advice.
The selection of reclining chairs was very good and competitively priced.
All in all a great experience.

Our first experience of HSL was visiting the Southampton store. They were helpful & courteous & we left with a quote & time to think about our possible future purchase. We decided to also visit your Brighton store, being bigger, we thought it might offer more. As soon as we entered the showroom, a lovely young man (Josh), welcomed us. He was very attentive & helped us by throwing a few ideas into the mix, resolving a few reservations that we had. He left us to give us time to think, when we were ready to talk some more, a lovely lady (Claire) took over. She was so warm & friendly in her approach, it felt like I was literally talking to a friend & I genuinely felt as though she wanted the best outcome for us. We were more than happy to place the order, as the whole experience was a pleasurable one. The customer service at Brighton is first class, one where the customer definitely does come first. Thank you HSL & thank you Claire. We can’t wait to get our new sofa & chairs.

We were treated to first class service from the moment we stepped into your showroom to the moment we left.
Claire greeted us at the entrance and welcomed us in(helping my 90 year old mother at the entrance) and offering help with our coats. She then politely asked if we needed assistance which we welcomed. After explaining what we were looking for, Claire showed and demonstrated some options to us. She listened to our needs and did not take us on a high pressure sales tour,but was able to satisfy all of our questions about the chairs and their workings and orthopaedic advantages.We were never made to feel rushed and really enjoyed our tea and biscuits.
Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she even fetched a larger sample of mums selected chair material so she could get a better idea of the fabric.
Of course we placed an order, and cannot wait for the delivery. Every retail sales team could learn about proper customer care from Claire. She was a breath of fresh air in this high pressure sales society we live in.

Chair went wrong,7 days till someone could look at it,£4000 6months old

We received a very warm welcome, Kerry was very knowledgeable, she provided all the info we needed then left us a short while to give us time to make our choices without feeling at all rushed. Kerry was a pleasure to deal with and we are very happy with our purchase.

A warm welcome on arrival with an offer of refreshments. We arrived with questions which Kerry answered succinctly. Our decision made, Kerry processed the order, explaining the costs in detail. All the staff were pleasant and no pressure was put upon us at any stage.

We were very impressed with the salesperson Joshua who had a good knowledge of the products. We were warmly greeted on entering and offered refreshments if required. Josh took time to listen to our requirements and then showed us several options for the living room chairs that we wanted. When we selected a particular chair he made sure that they fitted in all respects even down to ensuring that one chair was slightly larger than the other for one of us. He also showed us many different fabric styles to choose from. We can highly recommend the Brighton HSL operation for service and quality.

We walked into HSL this my and was greeted by Kerry, with a warm smile. She asked what we was interested in, so we said recliner chairs, she was very informative and explained the variations, to the all singing dancing to the basic ones. What a lovely personality she had ended up buying the best. What a lovely person she was and how she looked after us was great, in the end I bought what I came for. Now I am waiting delivery, excited old boy.

Fantastic service from start to finish very happy with my new furniture. Martin and Leon were very helpful.

UPDATED….following my previous review, customer service Team Manager Simon, took control of the issues and everything was sorted. A full refund received and the chair collected. Overall, the service we received from HSL was good, it was just a break down in customer care and poorly supplied chair by Stressless which was rectified by Simon, thank you.
We paid for a Stressless Chair, purchased through HSL in August 2025. The chair was delivered 10 weeks later. The chair was not as seen or displayed in store. We contacted HSL and sent pictures in the day of delivery to show the defects with the chair. We have then waited for over a month for an inspection, which HSL informed us had to be done before they would agree to collecting the chair and providing a refund. The technician visited on 14.11.25 and confirmed the chair was defective. So 4 months into dealing with HSL I still have no refund, a chair I can’t use and no response to 2 phone calls and 2 emails despite assurances that someone would call back yesterday. Would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND.

The Hove Store. Joshua was brilliant, knowledgeable and very helpful ..tea and biscuits whilst seated in the style of chair I purchased was excellent. No hurry , no pressure just brilliant customer service. Can’t wait for my new chair to arrive.

I was very fortunate to have Josh help me. Josh was very knowledgable and patient, and had very good ideas of what I wanted in an armchair recliner. A pleasure to be served by him.

Visited Hove branch today to look at a particular chair that I’d seen online. Clare was great. Very friendly and helpful and gave me honest advice. The chair I wanted wasn’t suited to me and she helped me choose another which is much more comfortable. Although the chairs are higher priced than others they are made in Britain and very good quality. The customer service I was given also makes the price worth it. I might have ordered something online and regretted my decision but now looking forward to receiving a chair that will ensure my comfort.
Lovely, relaxed atmosphere in the showroom and Wilson dog enjoyed his biscuit treat too! Thank you Clare (and Megan)

I visited the Branch in Newtown Road, Hove.
I dealt with Clare and Kerry and cant praise them enough. The service I received by both of these ladies was fantastic. I left after buying 2 sofas that are exactly what I wanted. I cant wait till they are delivered and I hope the rest of the service that I receive from HSL is as good. A definite 5 star

We felt welcome when we arrived and Megan went through the range of 2 seater. sofas, the available colours and gave us a quote there was no rush
