I was persuaded to buy the balloon brawlers when a friend tagged themselves in an advertising post on Facebook. The website itself is incredibly misleading: a UK domain, prices in pounds and no mention upon checkout that the item will be coming from China. When the tracking revealed where it was coming from, I tried to cancel but the item was already dispatched. I gave it the benefit of the doubt but upon opening the box it was abundantly clear that my item was not like the one pictured on the website: rather than being held together with pinned joints, the puppets were strung with elastic, which created an unstable base and (unsurprisingly) snapped upon first use. Customer service is appalling. When you email, you're told that you must wait 72hrs for a response and if you email before then, you'll be put to the back of the queue. It took nearly a fortnight to get a response, only for my request for a refund to be ignored and to be offered an exchange instead. When I refused, there was no further response. I am only glad that I paid via PayPal!

Utter crap.
Arrives looking nothing like the pictures. Parts were broken and I needed to glue it together before the first use. Cheap shoddy rubbish from an awful company. Avoid at all costs

Bought the extremely overpriced and underwhelming Balloon Battlers. Do not buy as it doesn’t work like the video shows. It is cheaply made with bits of wood threaded through with elastic. The needle does not fit. The instructions are not understandable.
I had a very quick reply to my complaint. Saying I could return it to China at my own cost and would probable have to fill out a detailed certificate of what was in the package. Brilliant business model. Sell an unuseable expensive item and then make it expensive and complex to return it. No one bothers. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Terrible experience. I bought the balloon battler game for Christmas. On Christmas Day, we found the product was not as described. The figures couldn’t be manipulated in the way the video suggested (they were very rigid) and the needle didn’t fit in the hole, it just dropped out. Overall the product was shoddy and unusable and not even worth 1/4 of what I paid. I immediately contacted the company. They took many days to reply. When they finally did, they asked for a video to prove my concerns. I duly provided one. Days later they replied to say all returns must reach them within 2 weeks of receiving it so they weren’t prepared to help. This deadline would have been impossible to meet at the rate they replied, which I assume is intentional. I requested a refund and just got ignored. The front the company puts on is of a wholesome, genuine quality company when in fact it’s a company with mass produced rubbish that they charge a premium for. It seems to be located in China, therefore there are no consumer laws to protect the purchaser from being ripped off. I only hope this review prevents this happening to other people. Please avoid!!

Not happy at all with customer service, I want to return a toy I bought for my grandson for Christmas and they still won't let me know the return address. There's no phone number. I wish I'd looked into the company before ordering. I've been waiting 3 weeks for a reply.
Would not recommend and certainly won't be ordering anything else from this company.

Purchased Balloon Brawlers for Christmas Day - complete waste of money as very badly made. The needle kept falling out of the hole, a handful of balloons were damaged and they didn't stay in place.
Customer Service is painfully slow, asked for my money back and got offered £5.00 and since the item cost £28.00 I think this is disgraceful.
I was under the impression the company was UK based but is in China - another deception.

Terrible service and quality.
Game arrived late and when opened it was broken. Company would only refund 25% of the price which is illegal.

Appalling quality toy, arrived damaged. Says suitable for 3 year old but brittle plastic and potentially dangerous. Customer service very unhelpful, offered 20% refund and I didn't have to post back so they acknowledged it was rubbish. I wish I had read other reviews first. I would never buy anything from them again and advise others not to. Eventually given a full refund by PayPal.

Absolute rip-off. Ordered 2 balloon brawlers, long wait then told system had crashed due to high demand and that I would have to re-order, which I stupidly did. Two arrived shortly afterwards.........the another two. Now have 4 very bad quality items, and been told I have to return at my own cost ......to CHINA. I avoid ordering Chinese goods as not value for money....the advertisements certainly suggested a small British company. Will not be paying to return an item which was sent in error - their error. Feel duped.

Company based in China. Return cost was £25 Product very poor quality. Ended up losing £30 in total Don’t use them.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. See all the reviews, my order ( 10th Dec 2024) still not arrived. They have emailed twice, but pretty sure its an AI response. It said Evri tried to deliver but the business was closed, delivery was to my house and we were home, complete con. Then they have told me to click on " link" for Evri to find out about my parcel. No way. Scam.

Got a Batman ID holder for my driving licence, looked amazing on the internet only when it came I found that my photo and daughters didn’t quite fit as it should off… I was so disappointed. Contacted the company and they offered me a 10% discount but asked that they send me a replacement holder but they just said it would be the same product….. disappointed my voice was not heard but I won’t use that company again. So much for the customer always being right…

On the 20th December 24 I purchased one Balloon Brawlers toy after seeing it on Facebook. I authorised payment for one toy, I received an email saying the order was confirmed. Within seconds I received an email stating the order had been updated and they had added a second to (at a discounted price) and taken a second payment (that I had not authorised. I immediately emailed back using the only contact provided address of hello at homenoak.com requesting the order was cancelled and a refund made. Despite multiple attempts they shipped the order on the 27th December saying it was too late to cancel. I have tried multiple times to to get a refund to which there is no response and now I realise that even if I could get a refund I would be responsible for returning the good to China at my own expense. I have now reported the transactions to my credit card company and report Home&Oak to the UK International Consumer Centre. I don't hold out much hope but adding this to the growing tales of woe concerning this in my view borderline illegal trading company.

BUYERS BEWARE Have given 1 star because not possible to give anything lower. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY RIP OFF PRODUCTS, RUBBISH PACKAGING, NONEXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Really wish I had looked up reviews before ordering.

Do not use this company their products are awful. Cheap packaging poor quality product and no reply from company regarding returns. Their marketing was excellent but do not be fooled this is Chinese rubbish. I was offered 20% refund then no further information.

The product didn’t work.

Shocking - weeks late delivery (totally missed Christmas despite ordering beginning of December and was told 3-5 days delivery). Useless tracking system and zero help from customer services. Product not as expected and poor quality. Do not use this company, total sham.

WARNING do not buy from this company. Clever advertising pre Christmas suggests UK based small business. Item arrived very late from China (packaged badly), the toy is just awful, cheap and would not risk giving this to any child from a safety perspective. Advised Home&Oak I wanted to return - this is at your own expense to China and shockingly costs more to return than the refund would be - other reviews suggest they do not refund anyway. No choice but to put this down to “experience” and adding to landfill. This company is disgraceful please do not use

DANGER !! This company is a Maildrop site from China. The products are poor quality and double the price of other UK based alternatives; the refund policy is non existent and fraudulent (in that you can only return to China, at huge cost). I was enticed by clever instagram advertising but AVOID AVOID AVOID. Trading Standards need to investigate this company as soon as possible.
