Excellent service from Ellis today he helped me sort the issue I encountered online updating my policy. With some quick questions to update it was sorted in less than 10 minutes great service and recommended for car insurance

After 3 years without hiccup they tried to quote me three times the price I got elsewhere

I bought the insurance and then was bombarded with emails for various things such as proof of car ownership etc. It was relentless! So I decided to cancel the policy (within the 14 day cooling off period). They charged me £85 to cancel and told me that this is a 'fair' thing to do. It's now sitting with the ombudsman. Avoid! Just put to con you!

Purchased insurance via a search engine. Then got asked for dvla check numbers, which they then didn’t know what to do with. Also got asked to provide proof of address, proof of employment (wouldn’t accept contract or payslip, only a letter from the employer). Then cancelled my insurance and charged me £80 for the privilege. I tried to cancel, due to the ridiculous amount of additional paperwork requested, 5 days after purchasing and was told it would cost me £80 to cancel. Apparently the consumer right to a cooling off period is not recognised by this company. Now insured elsewhere and would not recommend Hedgehog to anyone.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
I had insurance with them and once it was completed they refused to give me the renewal without any reason and after few months pass they called and said you are involved in a dispute etc without a single evidence provided.
i even told them that someone was trying to scam me but they are 100% involved with scammers when you complete your insurance they will somehow put all the blame on you now trying to rip me off with a 5000£ bill.

Made a change to my policy online very easily. Emily was quick and efficient, so I didn't wait long to get things resolved.

Trying to help my 81 Yr old dad with his car ins, he is not tech savvy. This an online only broker, did manage to to chat with George who was very helpful and kept things plain and simple.

I had online chat with a lady named Ellie, she was fantastic, she had patience with me whilst I explained my problem, she talked me through step by step how to change my policy details, All has been resolved

What a load of rubbish! Bombarded with emails after paying for a policy with so much more information they needed, instead of asking first. So much time and effort into e-mailing and chatting with them, multiple cancellations issued and then withdrawn and still the day after my 14-day right to withdraw ‘cooling off period’ they still cancelled: stealing £132 of money! So over 40% of the cost of the policy! Avoid, avoid, avoid!!

Wanted to put an extra driver on the policy. The online questionnaire wouldn’t accept driver licence details no matter how I tried altho they were correct. So to the online chat bot and then on to an on line agent. 1 1/2 hrs it took. Sorry, but never again! Different insurer with a telephone number next year.

Avoid like the plague I’ve been with them for about four years never had any dealings with them until late. They get the information you give them wrong and then they want to charge you complete an utter rip off. Had to update my address three times they’re not an insurance company they’re brokers. You can’t even speak to a human being.

Avoid. Took out insurance tonight and stated wife had held driving license for 38 years (she was out so couldn't check).
When she got back I entered her license details and then Hedgehod said she had in fact had her license for 40 years not 38 like I said and charged me an extra £24
Surely 40 is better than 38 if it makes any difference at all. Complete scam imo.

Disgusting. Charged a cancellation fee and admin fee of over £100 for a car insurance. That is over 25%? I'm now talking to the Financial Ombudsman Service. I had only just accepted the quote and after me paying them they wanted so much extra information like bills with my name on to be emailed with a list of other requirements, like access to My DVLA? What is wrong with you people?

Avoid at all cost

They keep charging me more each month than agreed.

They have now increased my insurance by £100 cos of a claim i made with my previous insurer.

I have not had a claim in over 8 years

They also charged me £50 for not responding to an email to agree the insurance price

They then charged me another £50 to amend a date on my policy for how long i held my licence.

They are scammers!!!!

If I could give this shower minus 10 then it still would not be enough
Website is a a shambles, wont allow you to correct errors, everything is done on line and my patience was tried so much that I cancelled even before the policy started
I would not recommend this company one bit, avoid at all costs
