Hi Bee. When the matter first arose, HealthEngine acknowledged that our rapid growth over the years had sometimes outpaced our systems and processes. The issues associated with ACCC proceedings are historical in nature, weren’t intentional and the referral service did not involve the sharing of clinical or medical related information. This process has given us a greater understanding of our operational shortcomings, which we’ve addressed. We believe we operate an excellent service, our procedures and processes are now at a level where they need to be. The tender process was rigorous and we demonstrated we could meet the needs of the Commonwealth around security, privacy and scalability.

cannot cancel my contract since my first cancellation request in July 2020

Healthengine is not a great thing to have to advertise your clinic. Patients are not reliable as they booked and cancel at the very last minute.
I emailed healthengine support since since July 2020 to cancel my account but I could not cancel my account until now. They stated in the contract that the service would stop 2 months after you cancel the contract but no one help me to terminate the contract after a number if emails. I am not happy about Healthengine at all.

disgusting experience with the doctor…

disgusting experience with the doctor they recommended and I couldn't even leave a review because all the reviews are scams... Very disappointed

Why can't I give these dodgy clowns a zero?
I was contacted twice by legal ambulance chasers following bookings on Health engine. unsolicited of course.
Anyway Henry, regarding your comments about why the AMA isn't doing anything about this outrageous and illegal behaviour, TAN WAS ELECTED TO THE BOARD of the local WA AMA branch in July!!!!!
Says a lot about THEIR integrity!
Seriously, just do not use Health Engine. A $2.9 million dollar fine from the ACCC says a lot about their business practices......

We acknowledged that our rapid growth over the years had sometimes outpaced our systems and processes. Adam Yap and Dr Marcus Tan - greedy vultures

Adam Yap and Dr Marcus Tan, founders and CEO of Health Engine are scam artists selling data to health insurers. It is deplorable that they still have the business. $2.9 million dollar fine is nothing compared to the millions they've made selling data of innocent people who just wanted to see a doctor, to health insurers. These animals are con artists!

Hi Little Blue Elephant, It's important to share that HealthEngine does not sell user databases to third parties. The issue was around adequate disclosure that a private health insurance comparison service, not HealthEngine, would be conducting a private health insurance comparison a customer requested. HealthEngine is confident that no adverse health outcomes were created by these issues and no clinical data was shared with any private health insurance comparison service.

Scam site

Appalling service. Their supposed "doctor" treated me with contempt. A scam at best.

Dishonest fake reviews

Dishonest fake reviews, selling personal information. These guys have finally got fined for their dishonest behaviour just look them up. Used the site three times to book with my surgery who started using this as an online booking service, started getting non stop calls for health insurance.

Dishonest, deceitful and shameful.

Even in the middle of a global pandemic, both Marcus Tan and Adam Yap think it's acceptable to be dishonest, deceitful and unprofessional with patients privacy. Beyond shameful. They should not be allowed to practice and the AMA need to attend to this serious issue.

Do not use for any business

As a business we find it really hard to deal with health engine, I would never recommend this to any businesses. In a world of perfect IT and accounting system . They have made their billing so hard to understand, so we spend hours finding out and finally leave, where each month they can charge some extra dollars and make them selves happy. No concern, moral or ethics..
I have never imagined a company operating in Australia getting away with out anyone taking them to consumer courts.

fake reviews

I posted reviews after a visit to a doctor last year, booked through health engine.
The review appeared but had been heavily doctored by healthengine. I don't trust them and you should be cautious about any positive reviews.
PS I've since discovered that 52% of reviews on healthengine have been tampered with to put doctors and practices in a better light. This is absolutely scandalous.

I was charged for a subscription I…

I was charged for a subscription I never asked for. I sent two emails to request a refund and had no response, so I later called their 1300 twice - both times after waiting in a queue, their phone system just disconnected. Avoid!!!!

Will not recommend Health Engine to any…

Will not recommend Health Engine to any business. Being a medical center, we pay health engine to make online booking and reduce admin work. But when an existing patient book as long appointment or incorrectly chose as a new patient, Health engine is booking as a long appointment and NOT showing in practice appointment screen as NEW patient. Misleading practice and charging $14 for each and every existing patient. Why can't healthengine make reference in appointment book as "NEW PATIENT" if it is going to charge $14 for an existing patient?? Why misleading by just making booking as a long appointment?? Even when this matter taken to support team, they mentioned that we should have checked at our end as they give us time to check billing. If appointment not booked in appointment screen as a NEW APPOINTMENT, why will I check??? I showed them how appointment was booked in appointment screen , support team advised that they are still working on this issue. Okay, let them work on it , but why they refused to reimburse me for four appointments which I mentioned them that was charged incorrectly because of this issue??? Very bad and poor support team.

Website won't allow me to change password, as apparently I don't have an account, yet it won't allow me to make an account as apparently I already have an account. Ridiculous

Unable to alter preferred mobile number

I set up a business mobile number and "verified" it. That number was mine only until I ceased working with the company who actually own the mobile number. Not that unusual really.
Now I cannot change it, and there is the chance of Health engine trying to contact me using that number. Not very secure, is it?

Will not use again

Will not use again. Made a booking early in the week for my son and waited about an hour. Approx 6 patients went in after we arrived (on time) Same thing this morning. Arrived on time and waited 35 minutes before being told there were two more patients in the waiting room (in addition to the one with the doctor) before me. I left in disgust. Both appts were AM. Disgusting service.
