Friendly service

Could not say enough about the 2 gentlemen who delivered and fitted the integrated dishwasher. So efficient and helpful .

I have never had a more difficult, unprofessional, unhelpful purchasing experience.
I orderd an oven on sale, having called specifically to ensure I would be able to organise delivery at a later date as I was going to be unavailable for the next week.
After speaking to an employee named Johnothan, he assured me this was possible, and gave me the email to contact when I wished to schedule delivery. Johnothan was seemingly the only employee interested in assisting me throughout this whole misadventure.
I emailed twice, to no response. Only after I submitted a queery on the Harvey Norman website did I hear back. Someone called me saying the oven would be delivered the next day, even though I had stated in two emails and one website message that I would like it delivered in a weeks time.
I explained this was not possible, and that I would like it delivered on 'x' date, whereupon the man on the phone, who did not give me his name, snapped that someone from the warehouse will call me the following day and that I should sort it out with them, before hanging up abruptly.
Someone did call the next day, Johnothan again. He said that the system stated that the oven would be delivered in two days time, not the week's time I had repeatedly stated I needed.
He then apologised and corrected the date to our agreed upon date.
I was however unconvinced and emailed again asking for written confirmation that the oven was going to be delivered on the agreed upon date.
Someone messaged back saying 'If Johnothan said it will be there on that date, it will be there on that date'.

Scheduling conflicts aside- I had paid the 10% down payment as I had an uneasy feeling, and wanted to pay the balance once delivery was sucessfully scheduled. I had to reach out twice to get a proper link to pay as the link sent was either expired or plain showed an error page.

Once the oven was paid and delivery date had been set, I emailed once again asking if there was a specific time I could expect the oven. Again, I had to send a second email before someone responded. A Victoria emailed that the oven would be delivered on the 20th. I'm sure I don't need to explain that the 20th is a date, not a time of day.

I waited around for the delivery drivers to call me today, and once they arrived, the delivery driver explained that they aren't actually employees at Harvey Norman but a seperate contracted company.

Needless to say, I will never purchase from this company again, and will advise anyone I know not to either. I am deeply disappointed and quite frankly disgusted with the employees attitudes, all except Johnothan.

Fast and easy, the whole experience was very straight forward, very fast delivery and at great price, would definitely use them again.

Very easy to deal with, delivery time was quick and efficient. The lads who came to install it were gentlemen and very easy to deal with.

Last Thursday morning 17.06.2026 I went to the store in Kinsale Rd Cork to buy a box of ink and paper for Canon Selphy printer (RP108), I had bought same product via click and collect the previous day which went smoothly (15.06.26) but needed more.
The product was not on the shelf so I went to the counter with 2 staff members, 1 serving another customer with some sort of difficulty being experienced. The Store was not busy it was before 11a.m.
There were a further 3 staff members standing around the area speaking together apparently it took all to deal with a woman about a printer she was buying. The staff memeber behind the counter looked for the product on till/computer but had difficulty locating it so he asked another member who had been 1 of the 3 speaking together who flipantly directed him out to stock room (as he proceeded to enter a door beside the customer service counter - not friendly staff communication). The staff member who was serving me then proceded to don a visi vest and head off, I waited for a few mins and he came back empty handed, just as he started to speak to me an older staff member (with goatee beard) approached and started talking over him sending him to the counter with printer and woman previously mentioned, leaving me just standing there. This older member just looked at me standing there and commented "I am serving this woman, anyway one of them should be helping you" pointing twds the other 2 staff nearby who had previously been with him - the counter staff member he had pulled away was supposed to be serving me!
I approached the 2 staff memebers speaking to each other explained what I was looking for and one told me he only had the one for €160 - the product costs €39.95, I questioned him and he gave some excuse that he was talking about printer , proving he had not listened to me and eventually told me that the ink/paper was only available in Tralee. This whole process took over 20 mins to tell me that the product was not available in-store and I experienced poor customer service across the whole group dealt with. (In the car I contacted O Learys Camera World in Cork City they had the product and customer service was excellent) I will not shop at Harvey Normans Technical dept Kinsale Rd again as a result of this poor customer care & as this is not the first time experiencing poor service in this particular Department -
I shop in Harveys quite regularly and find the furniture dept & the large appliance Dept staff customer service excellent and interested in customers queries .

Abjectly awful. From the moment we stepped in to the shop on Kinsale Road in Cork we were treated very poorly. The sales manners of all staff is abhorrent. They do not care. Six staff were standing in a circle hopping balloons off each others heads while blaring ‘Forgiven, Not Forgetten’ by the Corrs and when we wished to make an exchange we waited before being told no - no explanation offered and at that point, who would want to wait to find one. This is why Amazon is successful and you will be with the Liquidators soon. Piss poor
