What an absolute workhorse

What an absolute workhorse. In addition to the units strength, the customer service and troubleshooting teams are amazing. I've had my unit for a few years and as anything man made has errors, but the resolution of tech support brings a solution every time. If you're willing to make the investment, invest your hard earned money here.

Great customer service

Great customer service! When I was having issues setting up my freeze dryer or I thought I was missing a part. I called the customer service line and they were able to create a ticket right away and have somebody call me back the following business day. Great customer experience!

NOT HAPPY!

***UPDATE***Just got off the phone with #harvestright (HR). In March of 2025, I purchased the WiFi adapter for $75.00. This would allow me to monitor the machine from my mobile app AND allow HR to see "logs" w/o me having to send via email. Turns out it's not working and they don't know why. I confirmed that this machine has a 1 year warranty and that both the drain valve and vacuum hose HAD to be replaced, 9 months after the warranty expired--costing me $180.00. The $1700 oil-free pump malfunctioned in Sept of 2025 and had to be replaced--$400 for refurbished premier pump. In the lifetime of this machine, the mT have only dropped below 500 once and today I was told that mT should be less than 500. Since 12-24, multiple emails to tech support, ALL regarding vacuum issues, with "logs" attached, and not one technical support person ever addressed this issue, until now.
Have you added up all the money I have spent since my initial investment of >$4000?
***WARNING--LONG POST***
In May of 2023, I purchased a medium Harvest Right freeze dryer (FD) and paid $1700 extra for the oil-free pump. #harvestright
In 2024 I had to replace the cheap and malfunctioning vacuum hose, along with the malfunctioning drain valve. In Sept of 2025, my $1700 oil-free pump bit the dust and Harvest Right suggested a refurbished premier pump, that came with a 1 yr warranty--so I was told.
Less than 4 months later (just last week) I was getting error messages "unable to achieve vacuum". Several attempts to resolve the issue myself, I reached out to #harvestright for technical support. Of course it had to fall on a Saturday and all I could get was A.I. Monday morning I called and was able to speak with a human, who sent me 2 videos on "maintaining" the pump and scheduled an in person tech support for the following day, Tuesday. The video instructed me to clean the demister and allow at least 48 hrs for it to dry before reinstalling it-- MEANING--it wouldn't be ready until Wednesday to reinstall.
50 minutes before the "scheduled" tech support phone call, I received another email, this time with 2 more You-Tube links to watch, regarding taking the side and top off the FD--prior to the phone call. Never once asked how "pump maintenance" went, or what I discovered during that process. I informed her that there was no way I could watch the 2 videos AND remove the top and side, without help, and definitely not before the scheduled phone call.
Now I get a phone call from Bryant who doesn't seem to be hearing anything I am saying and is insisting it is a FD issue and not a pump issue. At this point, I had already purchased a new demister and was waiting for it's arrival. Bryant never asked about the pump, again, because as he stated "he was convinced it was not the pump." I am left to assume that all the work I did on the pump was now a waste of time.
Saturday the new demister arrived and I was able to get help taking the "under warranty" pump apart and cleaning it. I ran, what now would be my 5th vacuum test. mT dropped to 901 and never went lower; however, I decided to do a run anyway of fruit that I had tried to do the weekend prior. I started the run on Monday (2/9) afternoon and by 0700 hrs this morning, mT was 536 and she was already into "extra dry time".
My only question at this juncture is why did I not get to <600 mT during the vacuum test and yet, was able to get there with food in it???
Here's what I want to say to #harvestright--LISTEN to your customer! Know your customer! Get behind your product; identify the ongoing issues and FIX them! Stop treating us like idiots! Provide COMPLETE, timely and accurate information.
I bought the WiFi adapter in 2025 (from Harvest Right) that allows my FD to be connected to the internet. They could have seen the logs without me having to download them and sending them via email. No one ever said a word about that. My account and machine are registered with them. I have jumped thru all their hoops and they have thousands of my dollars. Why do I have to beg for help and answers?

I just got my machine and I’m super…

I just got my machine and I’m super excited to start testing and playing around with it. I did one run and the machine had an error vacuum issue. I called support and they were able to help troubleshoot, I figure out it was probably the way I positioned the cord. Helpful support team.

Buy this machine!

If you're considering buying a Harvest Right, I saw just go for it - you won't regret it! The machine and all accessories are extremely high quality. I was glad to see they didn't cut any corners on the quality of the product. It's actually extremely easy to use. I pre-freeze all my food in a deep freeze and then just pop it in the machine and the Harvest Right handles the rest.

I use it mostly for emergency preparedness, but there are SO many uses for it such as pantry staples, snacks, camping, etc. I gave out nicely packaged bags of candy for Christmas this year and it cost me about $1 a gift! :)

Long lived and easy to fix.

I bought my Small unit directly from Harvest Right in the winter 2021. It worked perfectly until my recent move across the country. The screen was broken in the move, so I contacted Harvest Right about a replacement. The unit was out of warranty, so there was a small charge for support. I was given a dedicated tech rep throughout the repair process. They no longer made the exact type of screen, so they had to send a newer version along with its associated USB control board. After it was installed, we discovered there were communication problems with the relay board, so we replaced it too. After that we updated the firmware and the unit worked flawlessly. It cost about $200 for the parts, but I now have pretty much a new unit. I really like the Candy Mode the new software supports. Looking forward to many more years of service.

Customer service is excellent

Customer service is excellent. Luis at Harvest Right helped me track down a connection that had been jostled loose during shipping. It was easy to fix, and I was freezer drying my first batch in no time. Love this freeze dryer (medium Pro)!

Bought their freeze dryer

Bought their freeze dryer, I use it for so many things I never thought I would. Fantastic quality, the newer machines dont have the vacuum errors from the earlier generations.

Oil free pump doesn’t work

I purchased a harvest right freeze dryer in 2015 and it worked ok. But then, in 2025 I upgraded to an oil-free vacuum pump and it was a total disaster. Since I installed it I have not been able to freeze dry anything. I had tech support rebuild the pump and send it back and it still doesn’t work. I have asked them to replace it with a premier oil pump but they keep telling me that the oil free pump should work.. But it doesn’t work. Terrible support. I would not recommend Harvest Right.

Excellent Customer Service

The first freeze dryer I bought was a large, we got it set it up and started using it right away. We got a pump error a few batches in but customer service walked us through how to fix it right away. I love my machine so I bought a second one (small). This time it arrived with a broken door handle and all the screws holding the sides on were stripped out. It took a lot of work to get the screws out to fix the handle. Definitely not happy with the quality of the small one but I can't say enough about the customer service. They were prompt, sent videos, called us and texted back and forth. They definitely have great customer service that wants you to succeed with the machines, which is very important to me. I love my two machines, and would buy them again.

Denisha was very helpful when I called…

Denisha was very helpful when I called for issues with my freeze dryer. Thankfully she was able to help me know what was going on without needing to spend money on repairs. I love having my freeze dryer! Its been a lot of fun to make treats but also to beef up my food storage

Requires maintenance and attention

The freeze dryer works, but I’ve had ongoing issues with the vacuum and occasional cooling errors. The support team was helpful in guiding me through troubleshooting, and recent repairs improved performance. Overall, it works but has required more maintenance and attention than I expected.

Worked with a return on trays

Worked with a return on trays. They were so helpful and responsive. We love our harvest right machine and are looking for more trays. I will be getting the correct size (which was my oversight).

They even called me which I always appreciate and went above and beyond with information and making the return process seem less.

Freeze It

I have had the freeze dryer for over a year and absolutely love it. I make expedition meals and it has been so wonderful to eat things I enjoy in the backcountry. I have freeze dried smoothies, favorite meals, fruits, etc. Love it

Recently the display screen stopped…

Recently the display screen stopped working on our Harvest Rite freeze dryer. I called and was immediately connected with a technician. Tanner was awesome! Diagnosed the problem quickly and had the new parts shipped to me. He walked me through the installation and had us back up and running. Great service!
