Went in to get a piece of jewellery appraised. Nicole and Jackie were absolutely amazing. Such a simply and straight forward service and made the whole process so easy. Would highly recommend compared to other pawn brokers as felt the service was super personal, friendly and professional.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with H&T.
I have spent a large amount of money with H&T over the years and have generally been a customer who trusted the company, which makes these recent experiences particularly disappointing.
On one occasion, I specifically asked about one of their rings, pawned an item in store in order to purchase it, and was told the ring was in stock. The following day I was told that the ring had actually been purchased elsewhere.
A very similar situation then happened again with a significantly more expensive ring. I purchased it after being told it was available. During this purchase, H&T manually applied a discount to the transaction from a sale that had just ended.
This is particularly confusing to me. If the ring had supposedly already been sold in store, how was the transaction being manually processed and discounted without anyone identifying that the item was no longer available?
Three days after purchasing it, I received an email saying that the ring had supposedly been sold in store and that I would be refunded. The refund was then made the following day.
I have repeatedly asked for clarification about when the alleged other purchase actually took place, including the time of the transaction, but I have not been provided with this information or evidence demonstrating that the ring was actually sold before my purchase.
Given the circumstances, I believe I am entitled to a clear explanation of what happened.
I also currently have an ongoing complaint concerning a separate matter involving my mother and the 14-day withdrawal right, where she was allegedly refused this right and threatened with being banned after attempting to exercise it on three separate occasions. That matter has also been taken to the Ombudsman.
I have now been told that I must wait up to eight weeks for my current complaint to be dealt with.
I also have audio recordings of the conversations relating to these incidents, in addition to screenshots, emails, transaction records and other correspondence.
Taken together — the repeated incidents involving supposedly available stock, the fact that a transaction was actively processed and manually discounted, the lack of evidence or a clear transaction time for the alleged prior sale, the contradictory explanations I've received, and the fact that I already have an ongoing complaint with H&T — I am seriously concerned that the treatment I have received could be retaliatory.
I am not presenting retaliation as an established fact. I am saying that I have not been given enough information to rule it out, and I am extremely disappointed that after being a customer who has spent a significant amount with H&T over the years, this is how these matters have been handled.
I genuinely liked H&T's products and had intended to continue purchasing from them. Unfortunately, after these experiences and the way my complaints have been handled, I have completely lost confidence in the company.
I would strongly recommend that anyone dealing with H&T keeps records of every conversation, purchase, cancellation and refund, and gets everything in writing.

After three unsuccessful attempts to obtain currency on line I called into the Gateshead branch to see if they could help. The princess wouldn't even work on their store iPad.
Anyway Sarah and Louise to the rescue! Both were incredibly helpful, polite and friendly and I was able to obtain my euros at the online rate.

I don’t understand why I buy what I want and have to wait way over 2 weeks for my item with no contact as to what’s happening but I get confirmation that it’s on its way when I check online it’s now out of stock I will be fuming 😡 if you don’t have my order after waiting so long and I’ve seen something better in store since making this purchase
