RAC Mobile Mechanics Recensioni 

I accepted the Mobile Mechanic quote conditional on (1) that the injector fitted would be new, not refurbished and (2) that the single use stretch bolt would be replaced. These conditions were very important to me as 4 years ago I broke down in the middle lane of the M4 when my injectors bounced up and down boring into the cam head and the stretch bolt snapped. The mechanic brought a refurbished injector and no stretch bolt. He told me all injectors were refurbished (not true) and the stretch bolt could be re-used 2 or 3 times (not from my experience on the M4). I reluctantly let him proceed as I was 200 miles from home, had already been camping in a carpark for several days and needed to get home. After driving just 30 miles, the engine management light came on again. I'd shed a quarter of a tank of diesel through the faulty refurbished injector that had just been fitted.

Kept informed at all times regarding time scales and what was going to happen.
Arrived on time.
Report came through very quickly.
Ease of use, as service done at my work place.

Mechanic was brill really helpful and did spot on job thanks.

Very easy and no hassle service came to house fit new brakes only took an hour. Would use again

I submitted my initial review on 27/7/26 after an awful experience with this Company.

To add insult to injury, the Pending payment for my £40 excess fee was debited from my bank account, and on calling the RAC, was notified that i will have to wait 21 days for a refund.

When i asked to speak with a Manager, i was informed there were no Managers and it has to go through a queuing system to be processed.

If you do decide to take out cover, please be mindful of their policies,especially if you travel with children as like myself, was expected to wait 7 hours in the dark.

As expected a professional repair and fault diagnosis on my car. RAC were able to re book for further parts replacement. So convenient to use RAC at home repairs and highly recommended.

The service from RAC mobile mechanic was great. From booking online which was easy and very competitively priced to communication before the day, they called when they said they would.
Sam arrived promptly and was super polite and efficient talked through the issue and double checked for me the reason why I was having the work done to confirm I was doing the right thing. After the job was done he talked me through and advised honestly in a couple of things he had noticed I should check before my next long drive.
Definitely would use again.

Arrived first thing and did a great job. Both the patrol man who picked up the car and the mobile mechanic have been excellent.

Absolutely the worst company to deal with, they need minus 5 stars they are that bad,
Booked mobile mechanic to do a repair after a breakdown, so far they have rescheduled every single day this week, excuses after excuses, didn't order the part, sent a mechanic initially who thought he was doing a service not a repair so didn't even have the parts with him, found out the RAC do this all the time so they get a full service paid for !!!
I have never dealt with such an incompetent, low integrity, untrustworthy, money grabbing shower of crap as this cowboy outfit, the call operators need a medal as they must be given a script to read to fob clients off, not their fault, the patrol mechanics are the same, turn up to jobs where they know the client has been lied to, their eyes must bleed when they look at their job sheets for the day, don't even sign up with them, scroll on by, you will be wasting your money and putting your sanity at risk

The initial booking and quote was fine after a home start call out.

Then the first person to arrive for the job was late and after 3 hours of dismantling the car left to get a piece of equipment that is not part of the standard tool kit. He then did not return on the same day but messaged to say he would return the next day, it actually turned out to be 3 days later and a different mechanic.

In the meantime I had a car partially dismantled on the drive way that I was unable to move into the garage to be secure so phoned the RAC to ask them to sort out their mess.

I was initially transferred to the mobile mechanics dept - but they shut at 5pm.

I then phoned back and insisted they send out a patrol to help. This took 30 minutes on the call as the RAC would not send a
Patrol to a job started by their mobile mechanics.

When the patrol arrived at nearly 9pm he was very helpful but in order to move the car we had to connect the battery but this resulted in petrol being pumped all over the engine bay and driveway. But the car was secure.

A different mobile mechanic turned up on the Thursday and completed to job in another 2 hours.

The starter motor was replaced and the car now works fine.

Unfortunately the RAC don’t seem to know what they are doing with the mobile mechanic service and clearly none of their telephone operators have been trained on the service or understand they need to sort their own problems.

Very disappointed that even after the pantomime I have not been contacted by the RAC.
