Zero customer service, no interest in customer satisfaction.

I have been on the phone with GTBank Gambia, Latrikunda branch for over 3 hours now (expensive long distance call!), in an attempt to get a simple answer about how to access information regarding my account status. Perhaps an email adress I can write to, to request information regarding my account? Although I can hear people talking and chatting in the office I have received zero service other than an anonomous lady who refuses to give her name, telling me to wait for the manager. About every 15 minutes she comes on the line and says Please wait. She will not tell me her name, nor answer any questions at all about how long I might need to wait or if there is any other option for service. Any question I ask is answered with "Just wait". After about 30 minutes she did say, it will not be long now, he is coming now. After one hour, she said, please wait, he is just finishing his call now, he will be with you shortly. During a full hour after that, she stopped communicating entirely. After 2,5 hours I asked again if it was possible to get an email adress where I could direct my questions. Again she said "Just wait" When asked if this was her idea of customer service, she answered "Yes".
After 3 hours, I lost my patience, and my tolerance for the phone call expenses. They have definitely lost any semblance of customer satisfaction. The next time I am in the Gambia I will definitely be closing my account, and recommending anyone else I know with accounts at GTBank to do the same.

This is the worst bank

This is the worst bank. Just don't pray to have any challenges with them, they will frustrate you. They are transparent in their dealings and they use your money to torture your emotions. They have refused to reverse a transaction I made to benefiary in error, they claimed to have blocked the transaction after I filled the Indemnity form and received consent from the wrong recipient but refused to revert the fund back to me. They kept tossing me here and there with no definitive action plan or timeline. This bank is a total mess, what a shame.

Very Good customer service

Very Good customer service. I contacted the head office Fisayo helped me and directed me the to right person in Ikeja Fatima made everything easy for me my transaction was successful. I’m a one Happy customer.

Fantastic Service

I had a really good experience with one of the Customer advisers, Ibukun at the Adeola Odeku branch in Victoria Island. She was thorough, patient and helped me in what was a complicated matter. The service overall was excellent from entry to completion. Every staff I encountered was polite and helpful.

Don't Abide By Data Protection

I was briefly an account holder with GT Bank in Rwanda somewhere around 2014/15. It is now 2025 and despite asking them over and over again to remove my contact information from their database, they keep spamming me multiple times a week with offers and holiday greetings. They're not the only bank in Rwanda to do this, but I have an intense dislike for them after this experience. They contact me more than my actual bank.

Illegal and unauthorised loan deduction:

What is the update on VDM's mum account that you have been taken unauthorised deduction for a loan she never collected?

We need update and a public statement, apology and compensation to VDM and his mum.

It is high time you stopped this fraudulent activities on your customers.

GTB steals your $$ & Arrests you for speaking

Though my GTB experience has been 99% positive but they dropped the ball when their organization tampered with justice! When their staff held the VDM, his Mother and his associates against their will. For GTB to be an accessory to the EFCC by facilitating an all lawful arrest of your customer and a vibrant citizen of our nation Nigeria, I am appalled to say I do business with GTB. I fear for my safety and the safety of my loved ones who are GTB customers. If in the future, I have any concerns or disputes regarding financial transactions, this action has given me insight as to how GTB will handle my complaints. Gtb will arrange with EFCC for any other Arresting body to kidnap me and or my loved ones in an effort to silence us. That I will never condone.

GT bank don’t protect their customers

GT bank don’t protect their customers, they exploit them with loans and hidden charges. When you complain, they report you to the police and get you arrested. Dont bank with them, their workers are Thieves and their policy is exploitation of their customers. I’m closing my account today

GTBank Nigeria is by far the worst banking experience I have ever had. This bank is a complete disaster, ranging from terrible customer service to endless technical issues.

1. Horrible Customer Service
The customer service is nonexistent. Every time I call, I’m put on hold for hours, only to speak with customer service agents who seem to hate their jobs and unhelpful agents who don’t resolve anything. Should I visit a branch? Forget it! The staff act like they’re doing you a favor just by acknowledging your presence.

2. Constant App & USSD Failures
The GTBank mobile app is a joke. The GTBank mobile app frequently crashes, fails to log in, and causes transactions to disappear without explanation. The *USSD code (737#) is even worse—half the time, it doesn’t work, and when it does, transactions fail but your money still gets deducted. Then you have to beg customer care for days to get it reversed!

3. Unnecessary Charges & Hidden Fees
GTBank loves deducting money for no reason. "Maintenance fees," "SMS alerts," "transfer charges"—they’ll find any excuse to take your money. And good luck getting a proper explanation for these random deductions!

4. Fraud & Security Issues
I’ve heard countless stories of people’s accounts being hacked, yet GTBank does nothing to improve security. If your money disappears, don’t expect quick help—you’ll be stuck in endless complaints with no resolution.

5. Slow & Inefficient Processes
Need a new ATM card? Wait weeks. Want to update your BVN details? Prepare for endless bureaucracy. Even simple transactions take forever because of unnecessary "verification" steps that other banks handle instantly.

Final Verdict: Stay Far Away! GTBank Nigeria is unreliable, frustrating, and downright exploitative. There are far better banks out there—ones that actually care about customers. Save yourself the stress and bank it elsewhere! Worst. Bank. Ever. 👎

There is a staff called Zachariah that…

There is a staff called Zachariah that attended to me when I called customer service. He deserves the best. I called up to 4 times and all the gt staff couldn’t help resolve or maybe they were reluctant to help. I was so frustrated and restless. I needed my money bk asap so I decided to try the last time. I got through to Zachariah and he helped ensure my money was refunded back to my dollar card. Zachariah God bless you.
