GCI web page was self explanatory for the process, but when got told things slightly differently by one of the shops I've contacted GCI and got assurance and guidance.
I am surprised how quick everything works and am very happy that my corporate Cycle to work scheme is with them.

Definitely the best cycle to work scheme. I would encourage anybody to read comparisons and see which scheme makes sense for them, as some shops only accept certain voucher schemes. If you are buying through an independent bike shop then GCI is almost certainly the right choice. Fees are the lowest and there's no price limit. Our HR dept was initially unsure as they were only just setting up the cycle to work scheme and didn't realise there were multiple options. However GCI have some really helpful and clear webpages which I pointed them to and they also found GCI responded extremely quickly to enquires compared to other schemes which AFAIAA never replied at all. The low fees made the most sense for me and also for the company, as it actually reduced their costs compared to my normal salary.

I had a frame custom made and wheels handbuilt, so not an off-the-shelf bike at all, and the GCI voucher made this much more affordable. The bike shop passed on the 5% voucher fee, which seems entirely reasonable to me (still a big saving). HR sent me the link to the form once I had the final amount, and at each step I got a very quick response from GCI and I had the final voucher to give to the bike shop in less than two days.

I think other lower rated reviews on trustpilot misunderstand what GCI is. Think of it purely as a voucher scheme; they are not responsible for your bike purchase experience generally. My impression from every interaction has been that GCI is very well thought out and run, and I can only recommend them.

The process is explained perfectly on their website, customer services were so helpful when I emailed. I signed my documentation and recieved my voucher within an hour.

Efficient, effective, easy to use. Identify the bike, confirm with shop that they are with GCI, work out total required. Get your payroll ID. Logon website, enter details. Get the approval the follow on the code for the shop to release the bike.

Any issue, just phone or email GCI and the same responsive / supportive process received.

It will be like in heaven if all companies are like this.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I decided to take advantage of the cycle to work scheme, but GCI made the process beyond simple. They were initially very helpful over the phone, explaining exactly how the scheme worked and continued to ensure that everything was completed quickly and efficiently. Have Type-2 diabetes and not managing well - lack of exercise being a contributing factor. I had previously been a gym resident but, at 60, the aches and pains after HIT sessions became a pain!
Discovered a Cycle-2-Work scheme through my employer, managed by the Green Commute Initiative (CGI)
I can find my way around a computer but have to say that the CGI application is straight-forward, with responses, supporting documents - including the all important Collection Voucher, provided in the stated timelines.
No excuses, no technical issues - CGI do what they say they are going to do.
To put a feather in CGI's cap, my local approved cycle supplier (Terrys Cycles, South Glos.) commented that obtaining confirmation of order and subsequent payment, is easier and quicker than other national branded companies.

I can't recommended GCI highly enough. I'm still amazed at how quick and easy it's been to sort out a new bike. The whole process from enquiry to collecting my new bike took a week. As someone who cycles every day this was brilliant. I should have done it years ago. Many, many thanks.

Amazingly quick service from Fiona, when i had to amend my voucher. Changed it within an hour. So helpful and quick response. The whole process took less than a day.

Very easy process. I had to return my original bike due to an issue and order fresh. GCI support were fantastic throughout- always very quick to respond, very helpful and they seemed to be checking in on my case and updating me unprompted.

Any time I emailed gci they got back to me within minutes . There was a mix up with emails between myself and employer so I emailed gci and the fixed the issue the same day . Good job 👏

I was initially going to go with one of the big schemes but the bike shop suggested GCI. Having looked into them GCI are the most affordable solution for both the bike shop and employee, with no ownership fee. They answered my question very quickly about cost if I sold before 6 years and any residual value is taxed at your tax rate, which is cheaper than the fee other schemes charge at 4 years. They don’t make this point clear (maybe because it’s “tax advice”) but it’s a good selling point.

Scheme was really easy to run as all I had to do was generate an invoice and ask my employer to pay it. They didn’t need to register and they save on NI contributions which helps in convincing them to offer Cycle to work scheme.

My lovely Cargo bike was delivered today by the shop and basically no paperwork as all done via GCI and saving 42% on £5k feels good!

If the shop you’re buying from offers GCI definitely go with them and try to get your employer onboard.

Incredibly responsive comms , same day service. The bike shops like them a lot as well.
