Gold car is the worst car rental car company I have ever experienced. It's unbelievable they cheat and charge you .very impolite and not professional workers at the office .specially in nice in France. Be careful and never rent from this company. Kevin

Goldcar took 10x the actual hire fee from credit card for a small scratch that appeared on a battered Peugeot.
The deposit was returned then they helped themselves a month later !
Very disappointed and would never use this company again

Last month, I rented a car through the DoYouSpain app from Goldcar at Madrid Airport. I paid €64 in advance, and my voucher clearly did not mention that I would have to pay any additional amount upon collection.

When I arrived at the airport, they were told that I had to pay an extra €200 and purchase full insurance. No matter how much I tried to explain that these charges were not mentioned in my booking or voucher, the staff refused to listen.

In addition, I had reserved an automatic car, but they told me they did not have any available and offered me a manual car instead. This was completely unacceptable.

The staff were very rude and unhelpful throughout the entire process. This was one of the worst car rental experiences I have ever had.

I will never rent a car from this company again, and I would never recommend it to anyone. In my opinion, their business practices are misleading and feel like a scam

I rented a car in Mallorca for 5 days, from Gold Car, through Enjoy third party.
Very disappointing experience. After waiting 1½ hours at GoldvCar at
Palma Airport, I was told I had to pay around £200 for additional insurance or provide a £3,000 deposit. I had my own European insurance, but the representative refused to review it. When I declined the extra insurance, the car was refused, leaving us stranded at midnight. We had to use public transport and hire another car, from a reliable company the following day,
incurring extra costs. Both Gold Car and Enjoy Travel then rejected my complaint and offered no refund, despite the vehicle never being supplied. I would not book through them again. Beware, avoid !

Rented off this company via DoYouSpain (who also seem to have washed their hands of it), and recieved an almost brand new car. No scratches at all. Dropped back off at the office early and had to use a deposit box as nobody on site. Went to drop suitcase off at Murcia, but as we were early we sat outside for a coffee. Then I thought I'd better shoot a video of the car just in case, so went back. Anyway by the time I did the office was open, so explained what I I had done and wanted to take a video. 3 of the staff in office all said no need, it's been checked and cleared. So never trust what they say. Once leaving the country I received the invoice with several pictures of scratches (looked like chalk to me), and a bill for 220 euros. Phoned customer service twice, one man said he would sort it (and didn't), second one said fill form in and hung up. LEAVE THESE WELL ALONE.

Goldcar aéroport Marseille Marignane A FUIR ABSOLUMENT !!Réservation faite et payée d'un véhicule par l'intermédiaire de Ryanair sur internet. Arrivés chez Goldcar, ils ont invoqué une anomalie dans l'inscription du prénom car en lieu et place, le système-j'insiste- le système Ryanair a mentionné une adresse mail !Palabres, coups de fil, ils se sont rejetés la balle : arnaque bien organisée entre les 2: Ryanair et Goldcar !!Obligation de louer un autre véhicule au double du prix avec imposition de souscrire à:- la couverture super relax:215 euros- Kms illimités: 41 euros-Smart return: 19 euros-Mega relax plus: 46 euros !!!Bref le double du prix et de plus Ryanair ne veut rien entendre pour rembourser le véhicule initialement loué et payé ! Une escroquerie organisée !A ce jour suis toujours en attente du retour d'une caution de carburant de 113 euros qu'un gars a constaté , le réservoir plein et insisté pour me dire vous serez remboursé sur carte de crédit....Cette compagne agit en tout impunité, je ne laisserai pas l'affaire ainsi...ils auront très prochainement de mes nouvelles par le biais des autorités, c'est évident !Des escrocs !!

Absolute joke. Had booked car in UK. Upon pick up was told booking form didn’t have my middle name on it and therefore had to pay again through them for car. 10pm at night had no way of getting car unless I paid £437. Do not touch this firm. You have been warned.

I rented a car in Spain from Goldcar through Holiday Autos. The car had more scratches and dents then they had on their collection sheet. I found another 58 new damages. It took me 2 hours from sighing paper work and being overcharged to leaving the airport with the damaged car. The car was filthy outside the brakes were grinding. When I went back to ask them to change the car was told take it or leave. I had no choice but to take it. Will never use this company again.

reservering van een auto via Booking.com is totaal onduidelijk wat betreft je rechten en voorwaarden. Cold car Bilbao is volledig onbetrouwbaar zooitje en wijzen iedere verantwoording voor het contract met Booking.com af ??? is private . Nooit een auto huren via Booking.com ook al lijkt het door prijs aantrekkelijk je zit dan tussen 2 vuren. Gewoon direct bij een verhuurder en als je in Spanje bent geen Gold car . Oplichters

Nous avons loué une voiture, quand nous l'avons rendu il n'y avait personne car il était 7h du matin. Je recois un mail à 8h pour cloture de dossier avec une mention de jante abimée mais pas de frais déduit, dans le doute car le mail n'est pas clair je demande confirmation et la je recois un mail plus tard m'expliquant qu'effectivement je serais débité de ma caution de 330 euros, je conteste et demande la taille de l'impact car si inférieur a 5 cm il n'y a pas de frais déduit, pas de réponse a ma demande et je recois un nouveau mail ou la facture passe a 385 euros car ajout de frais de dossier d'accident. C'est ahurissant et j'ai vraiment le sentiment que ma demande n'ait pas prise en compte, booking par qui je suis passé est aux abonnées absent car je n'ai pas pris d'assurance et le conseiller me confirme qu'il voit de plus en plus ce genre de pratique. Goldcar a fuir !!!

Can’t recommend. Planned key pick up but technology wouldn’t work - 5 attempts and three different people tried. Arrived at airport had to walk to another terminal, wait in queue and now have to drop off at different terminal to the one I fly from. Nice enough people but so disorganised and car in shabby conditions- I guess because I took out full insurance they give you one already scratched. I contacted customer service and their growth exec but don’t expect a response. Taxi, train and flight like a dream and then 90 minutes to get a hire car. Ubers next time!

At one point I ask for a refund and the option to go elsewhere but they wouldn’t do that. Just a low cost operator and it shows.

I have just experienced the most deplorable experience in renting a car from GOLDCAR using the service of WISECARS. I landed in Cagliari Airport expecting my car rental experience to be positive. IT was anything but that. The reservation through Wisecars used my first and last name. All of my documents used a first, MIDDLE and surname. Goldcar maintained that the names did not match (the MIDDLE name was not on the registration) and the car rental agreement could not be honoured. Moreover they would not refund the amount I had paid because I was classed as a "No Show". I found that the agents at the GOLDCARS counter were looking for an excuse and finding manufactured obstacles. DO NOT USE either GOLDCARS OR WISECARS EVER. I won't.

I was charged 500 euros for crossing the swiss boarder while traverling in italy, I was not aware I had done any thing wrong.
This money was taken from my credit card without my permission

Had to wait nearly 2 hours to get served . Then the staff were very abusive and made me take out car protection I don’t need or want . Then tried to make me pay 40 euros as it was after 11pm .never use them again . Stay away from these crooks

NEVER rent a car from this company. They always have great offers because they rob you blind when you return your car. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Après avoir loué un véhicule en Mars 2025, lors de la restitution l'agent nous indique que tout est ok. En novembre je m'aperçois d'un débit de 139 euros. Apres explications Golcar s'est servi sur mon compte parceque soit disant j'ai rendu le vehicule avec plus de 30 minutes de retard, aucune preuve et pas de mail de leur part. Pas de remboursement possible ! Bon ils ont gagné 139 euros et perdu avec une image très negative et plus aucune location de ma part sur ce site.Je deconseille cette entrepise

Refused to give me my booked car and was left stranded as a result. Because on one of the 3 required documents my first name was in short form. Refused to to not only give me the car, but also refused to give me a refund.
Outrageous behaviour. Avoid! This is a scam!!!

Seriously-avoid at all costs. Malaga Airport- pay £425 extra( in addition to cost of hire) or accept a 3000 euro policy excess in case of damage( and believe me, they’ll find some) and also pay £125 for a full tank of petrol( it won’t hold that much). To be refunded if car is returned full. Return car full to the brim- tank topped up 2 km away. No refund. Albeit lots of people telling me the same story. Absolute rogues
