As of late 2024 - We have processed over 100,000 orders in the 16 years+ that FFD have been in business. We have over 60,000 customers. We have 1000s of positive reviews and only 47 negative reviews (including 1 and 2 star) across all review platforms (Reviews.io, Trustpilot AND Google)
At least 4 or 5 customers, including yourself and dicksunmejoahskd, have left 2 or more reviews for the same issue across multiple platforms. So, even if we count multiple reviews for the same issue, it equates to less than 3 negative reviews per year, for 16 years, on an average of 6500 orders per year.
This calculates to 0.046% negative reviews to total orders per year/rate. I will leave it to the readers to decide whether we provide a good service or not.
We highly encourage reviews good, bad or indifferent but only if they are honest, truthful, fair and reasonable.
Unfortunately, we now live in an age where an ever-increasing number of customers online are in the habit of threatening to or actually write defamatory, untruthful reviews that are an attempt to "bully" businesses for the most unfair reasons. In this case, the facts are that you ordered a product from us (it transpires that you ordered the incorrect unit). Delivery was attempted and failed on 3 occasions. When you arranged for the incorrect order to be collected (again, this was attempted 3 times before you were at site), we were on the phone to you and told you which item was to be returned. You sent back a pallet of goods from a competitor. We have tried to redeliver your pallet however this is also failing. Despite numerous attempts to contact you via phone calls and email, in order to get these products back to you and collect the original piece of equipment, you are ignoring all correspondence.

Upped their price!

I wanted to order a freezer for a charity at the advertised price on their website. It needed to be by bank transfer so I filled in the pro forma to get the bank details and they give me a different price. I send in the screenshot of the price I see. They then claim it was an error on the website which they have now corrected and will only do the higher price a difference of £145.48 which is alot for a charity. Had the charity had a card I would have bought it at the original price which had been showing for days on the website and they would have had to honour that price. I wouldn't trust a company who acts like this.

Thank you for your feedback. Prices often change for the circa 15000 products we have on our site, and we update them regularly. On the day you wished to make a purchase, the price for that particular item on our site was displaying correctly at the higher price. We had previously updated prices on the Wednesday, before noticing that there was an error on Thursday, at which point all prices were rectified. The screenshot you sent to us on Friday was of 1-2 days previously, before the price had been changed, and not a reflection of the live site at the time you wished to purchase. Therefore, we were unable to honour a historic price. We were honest and upfront with you about the issue, as we are with all of our customers, but unfortunately we cannot supply equipment at a loss.

Faulty product and replacement part

I had a freezer delivered on December but with EU plug.
One week ago my freezer stopped working. It was under parts warranty and yesterday I have received the part yesterday.
Today my technician arrived and was upset, the part was not the right one but we have decided to install it to realise that is faulty.
Now I have to wait if they are going to replace the faulty part.
But still I have to pay another visit because of their fault.
3 stars as I had good experience before and as it's manufacturer fault also.
2-2-2024 The response was so fast and as the part was sent from the manufacturer I will give 4 stars.

Good experience, would use again!

I was a little concerned after seeing some of these reviews but we had a good experience overall!
After ordering we realised the item would not fit through our front door. Customer support halted our order and gave us time to find an alternative/recommended item for us. We paid more money but we did end up getting a better fridge!
Delivery was great! We were kept informed the whole time and the delivery drivers were very friendly. They had a tough job fitting it through our door but they knew exactly what to do and everything went smoothly.
I would recommend!

Unprofessional behaviour

My complaint and my extremely bad experience focuses on one person (Carol C.) who was sarcastic and unable to demonstrate professionalism. The representative wanted simply to charge additional fees only to receive more money. I had made 3 orders and Tom W. was amazing and very helpful and polite but ultimately that lady failed to maintain the good reputation of the company.

We had tried to contact you to book in your delivery however you missed the call and therefore were not present at site when delivery was attempted. As is stated on our website here - https://www.fridgefreezerdirect.co.uk/delivery-and-returns, when no-one is available at site to accept the equipment this will be classed as a failed delivery and a redelivery charge will be applicable. Carol was unable to waive this charge as it is a fixed fee set by the manufacturer and not something which we have control over. Never Again!

Ordered a bar fridge and they promised the Earth on delivery and even paid an extra £50 for a morning timed delivery slot between 8am and 10am. Well nothing... Zilch, Zero... Excuses after excuses so I ended up cancelling the order out of shear anger. Utter feckless lot. Had four staff members in from 8am hanging around for something that as they put it "may or may not arrive". Ended up going elsewhere. Don't bother using them.

We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the service you received whilst shopping with FFD.
Your order was scheduled for a pre 10am delivery which in this instance, unfortunately could not be met. We immediately offered to refund you the charge for this service. Your delivery was scheduled for a little later the same day however you felt that it was unacceptable to wait another couple of hours. Instead, you felt the best option was to cancel your order and wait for another company to make delivery 2-5 days later. All distributers deal with the same manufacturer and delivery company so your order will arrive to you through exactly the same route.
At no point has FFD told you that your equipment “may or may not arrive”. We always operate with an open and honest channel of communication with our customers and never “promise” things which we are unable to deliver on.
As soon as you informed us that you wished to cancel your order your refund was issued with no hesitation.
The equipment supply chain is under immense pressure at the moment, along with many other sectors including your own, however we will not accept verbal abuse toward any member of our staff let alone the 3 team members you interacted with as well as the MD.

worst service ive ever received

I spoke to sales at fridge freezer direct to confirm an item was instock due to an urgent need, the sales representative said there was 3 in stock and would be delivered the next day if i paid online to which i did, a week later just 24 hours before our pub opens still no fridges, i chased the supplier to hear that our item isnt instock and would be available as soon as July. Terrible service and cannot believe how poorly i have been treated. This wouldnt have been an issue if i had of just placed an order online, my issue is because its so urgent i called to speak to sales to confirm its instock. This company are just after your money in hope they can delay you till the items are in stock.

Due to current conditions, stock levels are extremely volatile and unfortunately during the period between checking stock levels with the manufacturer and receiving your payment, the remaining units were sold. We offered an alternative item which you accepted and this was delivered the next day. As a token gesture and to acknowledge your inconvenience we also offered the new equipment at a discounted price.

We apologise that you found this level of service unacceptable. We aim to deliver a quality service to all of our customers however the difficult climate at the moment means that sometimes issues arise which are out of our hands.

Would Recommend

Hours of searching on internet for commercial freezer and reputable supplier and I finally settled on FFD. During my search, I ruled out any company that didn't answer their sales line (and there was quite a few) as if they can't even be bothered to answer sales, you can be sure you won't have much joy in getting through to their aftersales. I also ruled out those companies where their 'good' reviews were predominantly from 'invited' reviewers with just 1 review to their name.

Buying from FFD was straight forward. Next day delivery was an important factor but given many of the companies I has contacted said they couldn't do this because of the surge in demand with the food outlets opening up again after lockdown, I was concerned that FFD wouldn't honour this. Soon after the online purchase, I get an email saying deliveries are taking longer than usual and I will be contacted when a delivery date is known. I contacted FFD who assured me that this is just a standard email and that my freezer was booked for next day delivery. Sure enough, it arrived early the next day. The reason for not giving 5 stars is the delivery itself could have been done better - online tracking saying it had been delivered but subsequent text messages 1/2 hr later saying it was some 15 miles away. Basically the online tracking and text messages were not in sync.

Prodis Display Freezer

Bought a brand new display freezer from them made by Prodis. Be warned you need to buy a labour included warranty if your stupid enough to buy one of these or anything from this company. Read the reviews as we wish we had now, probably the worst customer services we have ever experienced. First of all it broke down after 3 months (lost about £600 of stock as probe failed), had to pay for a engineer report, then email that to them. They then take a deposit for the parts from you before sending them and will only return it when you ship back the old part. Was a farce over a less than twenty pound probe. Breakdown two was the hot valve and we again lost all the stock, had to get a engineer to come make a report, email that and then pay for him to come back and fit, as we didn't have a labour included warranty. The third break down within 7 months after we bought it was BOTH COMPRESSORS? So after 3 breakdowns and over £500 in labour, engineers reports and stock losses we asked for a refund or a replacement as this crock of C*** is not a product that is fit for purpose. They offered in reply that they will only supply the replacement parts if we pay £500 deposit and ship the parts back. Told us we cant do anything legally as it is a business to business contract and not covered by the sale of goods act. They will only supply the replacement parts if we pay £500 deposit and ship the parts back after at our expense. Would mean we would have paid out in excess of the value of the freezer in labour, gas and engineer reports, stock losses to fix a freezer that didn't last 3 months without failing. You have been warned.

As you say in your review, you purchased your equipment with a parts only warranty. At the point of purchase we offer the majority of our products with a choice of parts only or parts and labour warranty, allowing customers to tailor their cover to their individual needs. You chose to opt for parts only and declined labour cover.

Information regarding all commercial warranties is available on our dedicated commercial warranties page. This includes details explaining that a parts only cover will not cover the costs of engineers.

We have not taken a deposit from you throughout this instance and all parts that you have requested have been dispatched to you.

Only one compressor was in fact faulty however we agreed to send out two compressors at your request. At no point have we asked for a £500 deposit to send out the two replacement compressors. We have also never requested that you send the faulty compressors to us at your own cost, in fact we offered to pick up these parts at our own cost.

We have tried to contact you with regards to dispatching the compressors to you however all attempts have proved unsuccessful. If you would like us to arrange for your replacement compressors to be sent out to you then please respond to our previous contact requests or give us a call directly, we'd be happy to help.

The email you have quoted appears to be the first of multiple correspondence with you, when a single replacement compressor was being discussed. Our more recent emails state that:

Sent: 12 January 2021 14:31

"Prodis will send out two new compressors for the unit rather than one...Once you have had these replaced please let me know and we will collect the two that you currently have."

We understand how frustrating it is when equipment components are causing issues however it has been explained that as a commercial piece of equipment, "...manufacturers will always look to have units repaired rather than replaced..."

As yet we are still awaiting a response from you regarding your compressor replacements.
