So the lawnmower arrived and it was just awful, handles were bent, and manufacturing really poor indeed. Sent it back and despite them having it on the 8th June, still no refund even begun to be processed by 22nd June. Robbing scam artists !!!
Flymo HoverVac 270 - Loud and Inefficient
I bought a Flymo HoverVac 270 a few weeks ago to replace the latest Flymo I've had for the last 6 or 7 years. Only having a small garden, these mowers are generally the best solution, but flymos in general are far from ideal.
The Garden Vac 270 is incredibly noisy at just over 96 db, and actually comes with an obvious noise warning certificate when you open the box. I have to wear ear defenders while using it as it is uncomfortably loud.
It moves fairly well and is quite light, but its cutting efficiency is extremely poor. You have to mow over each bit 4 or 5 times to get an even finished cut. This is wasteful of both time and electricity.
My impression is that the design has been 'value engineered' to within an inch of its life. There is much about this which just seems too cheap, from the puny clips which hold the grass box in place (I just know they are going to break before the guarantee runs out) to the lack of consideration as to how the user can effectively clean away grass cuttings from its motor vents and other places. It feels as though the designers have never actually used one to cut a real lawn.
Generally, I'm un-impressed by this machine, and I sincerely hope it will be the last mower I have to buy while I live here. Moving to a house with a larger garden which justifies a self-propelled petrol mower or even one which I can sit on is a far better proposition than buying another mower like this one.
Flymo have given me a 5 year guarantee on this item, and given the build quality, I expect that at some point in that period I will have to talk with their service department.
Very poor customer service…
The lawnmower I bought has a toggle fastening the handles together missing. I bought it in January but hadn’t opened it until March. I have been trying to get the toggle since then but the customer service is rubbish and seem to be ignoring me! Don’t waste your money! Before you ask me again for my ref its Flymo/McCulloch/GARDENA Service

I wish I could give 0 stars. I bought a robotic easilife 350 last year this year it had a fault. It took me weeks to get hold of flymo. They then told me they could not repair it so I had to take it to a husqavana dealer. The flymo was with them for 10 WEEKS. I have just received it back and its just failed again.
Again I cant get hold of Flymo and the dealer are saying they can repair again but it will be around 10 WEEKS AGAIN!!!!!!
DO NOT BUY FLYMO PRODUCTS.
YOU WILL GET ZERO SUPPORT!!!!
Bad experience with 2017 Flymo Ultra Glide mower
I own an expensive 2017 Flymo Ultra Glide mower which has been used infrequently and always stored in a dry garage. It developed a fault and stopped working. As I'm a qualified mechanical and electrical engineer I investigated the problem and found the motor main bearing had failed, causing motor shaft to go out of alignment, stopping the motor. I researched this mower and found many problems including a fire risk recall earlier in its history. I phoned and wrote to flymo uk, with photos to show the problem and although outside the 1 year warranty, I believe this mower was not fit for purpose for an approx £230 machine. After a week or so I phoned back asking for an update. I was told a supervisor would call but this did not happen so I called. The result was they were not prepared to do anything except sell me another mower at slightly reduced price. Unbelievably bad customer service and the reason the uk will be introducing new legislation later this year to decrease this throw away society and reduce land fill. A replacement motor so I could repair the mower would have resolved this problem. I own several flymo strimmer and leaf blower machines but I will never buy another flymo machine.
Disappointed with established company
I have a Flymo strimmer which uses "long-lasting" plastic blades. These blades last barely twenty minutes and about four weeks ago I made a complaint to Flymo and they have made no attempt to contact me.
The fantastic flymo vac 250…
I purchased the fantastic flymo vac 250 last week to cut the grass at no.32 I was was pleasantly surprised just how good it was. I even got a thumbs up from my partner who managed to rate it between drinking and having her head down the toilet. Mowing was an ease partly down to me getting my line manager moved from her position due to her victimisation. A solid 8 out of 10.

Brought the Cordless Easistore 300 the battery stopped charging after 3 charges . Flymo customer services were no help at all so i returned the item to VERY.CO.UK .Then i ordered another , during the first mow a small twig dislodged the belt that drives the blade . Same experience with Flymo customer services and another mower sent back to VERY .
Avoid buying direct from flymo
Purchases a lawnmower and strimmer set which never arrived. Ten days later I phoned customer services to be told it hasn’t been shipped. Emailed them but been ignored! Told to phone next week to check status of order. Then out of the blue a full refund into PayPal account, then email to say your order has been cancelled due to high demand??
Wouldn’t buy direct from fly no again. Not professional and customer services rubbish.
Flymo (+Gardena & Husqvarna) Sales.........But No Service!!
Last year I purchased a Flymo 1200R Robotic Lawnmower. Although a little on the expensive side, it has proved worth the investment and has been doing an excellent job of cutting my lawn and keeping the garden looking smart.
However, I have recently been experiencing problems with the machine regularly failing to re-charge in the docking station and, in spite of my fruitless efforts to deal with the problem, I eventually decided to contact the customer help-desk to get some advice.
Unfortunately, it appears that this company have seen fit to virtually close down their customer service operation, particularly relative to phoning them for help.......except that they advise customers to contact them by email!
This is not the easiest form of communicating when you have problems of any sort and want help but, when it comes to problems of a technical nature, trying to explain what the problem is and discuss it via email is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard!
I am not ignoring the fact that we're still in the midst of a pandemic and accept that it's not easy for companies to maintain their service to customers but, after many months, I cannot understand how the best this long established and normally reputable company can do, is virtually close down any meaningful service to their customers, especially when they are aware that many, in view of the type of product supplied, experience problems or have questions of a technical nature.
How is it that the majority of companies appear to have been able to set up systems where their staff work from home and deliver, possibly a slower, but an acceptable level of service where you can speak with someone.
It is, however, interesting to note that this company have managed to set up a system, on an alternative number, where potential customers get answered and can still make enquiries and purchase products, all be it that having parted with their money, they will then be unable to get any meaningful after-sales service or support!!
Come on Flymo/Husqvarna/Gardena, get your act together and give your customers the service and support they deserve and which you should be wanting and able to provide!
Don’t buy a Flymo
Bought a Flymo Mighty Mo last year. Very pleased until, after a couple of times used a wheel fell off. Contacted customer service who said the wheels are not covered by the guarantee. I could send back at my expense but they would charge for repair. Took the cover of the wheel and found there is nothing holding it on to the axle/spindle. Tried fixing with tape and rubber bands but only works for a few minutes then falls off. Second wheel then fell off. Useless and a shame as it was actually quite good. Never buy a Flymo. Been cluttering up the garage ever since. Sadly gave away old mower when I bought this one. Customer service nil.

Bought a Flymo 1200R robotic mower in May 2019, took great care of it and overwintered it after cleaning in a frost free shed, brought out in May this year and worked perfectly until I noticed one day that the tread on one of the front wheels had split and was dangling preventing the mower to propel itself properly. I immediately contacted Flymo who said it was nothing to do with them and told me to phone Husqvarna who make the mowers, and gave me their customer support email address. I sent all the details of my mower, serial and model numbers, my contact details and a photograph of my mower. The mower is under 2yrs warranty as I registered it with Flymo when I bought it from Amazon.
Now I have a very expensive robotic mower that can't work because it needs a new wheel. I can't purchase a one from Flymo's online shop as it says it is no longer available.
I have had no reply from Husqvarna since emailing them and I am very annoyed to say the least. I'm disabled and elderly and bought the mower in the first place to save money as I was being charged £25 every 2 weeks to have my lawn cut.
The customer service of both Husqvarna and Flymo is appalling. The Flymo agent I spoke to on webchat kept me hanging around without telling me why they'd disappeared from chat and then abruptly told me to email Husqvarna.
Totally unacceptable. These companies are using the lockedown as an excuse not to bother with problems customers have with the equipment sold to them.

I placed an order with Flymo on 29th March 2020. After a few days I received nothing, not even an order acknowledgement despite emailing them to chase this up. On 1st April I called Flymo and was advised that my order was not coming as although the Website had allowed orders they could not be fulfilled as there was no stock, therefore I would receive an automatic refund. I asked for this to put into an email, but they advised this was not possible due to a shortage of staff!?
I placed an order elsewhere for a different lawnmower and awaited my refund. On 4th April, I then received a shipping notification from Flymo!? Needless to say, I emailed them yet again advising of the above and yet again - nothing received back from them. Delivery was naturally rejected a few days later and I sent yet another email only to be ignored. Today is 14th April, and despite a further email regarding a refund I have heard nothing from them. I am now going through my bank to force a refund. This will be one of many reviews I post to warn others. Be warned - DO NOT DEAL WITH FLYMO, DO NOT TRUST!!!
