A bit expensive but worth the money. Great guidence in the air, was really comfortable doing all the maneuvers!

I felt in good hands with Karlis and his team when on a three day SIV. Karlis has a great eye for the details that matter. Everyone could progress at their own pace. The method is very structured. The material that was provided before the training was helpful in getting the most out of the airtime we had. As we had some bad weather, an extra day was added. That was much appreciated!
I will certainly come back!

I am a paraglider pilot and have been regularly taking part in different SIV seminars for some time now. So far, I have attended 5 SIV courses with 4 different schools, which gives me a good point of comparison in terms of how different schools are organised, how their programmes are structured, and how the training is delivered.

Based on my experience, I can confidently recommend the SIV seminar run by Karlis. In fact, I would say it was definitely one of the best SIV courses I have attended — if not the best.

The course was professional, well organised, and delivered in a way that gave me a lot of confidence. I genuinely feel that Karlis provides very high-quality training, and I can fully and responsibly recommend his SIV seminar to other paraglider pilots who want to improve their safety, skills, and confidence in the air.

Really a fantastic SIV at garda, professional training and amazing support all through the course!

The way we worked through the fundamentals early on set up for a great experience that left me feeling very relaxed in the harness when doing the maneuvers. His demeanor and calm voice over the radio helps keep it light and relaxing.

This was my first SIV course, and it exceeded all expectations. Everything was perfectly organised — both logistically and in terms of safety. Karlis provided clear explanations, great guidance, and a personal approach to every pilot. I really appreciated the pre-course materials, the individual feedback after each flight, and getting all the video footage for review — it made the learning process much more effective. I’m very happy with my progress and feel much more confident in thermal flying. Highly recommended. I’ll definitely be back.

Learnt way more than I had ever expected!!
Initially I was unsure about signing up for a SIV as a new pilot (only had 7 hrs), however the combination of the required pre course knowledge along with Karlis’ keen sense of a pilots ability (adjusting the manoeuvres to suit) made sure you were just on the edge of your comfort zone and this definitely helped with making the learning stick. After each flight, a little unknowingly at first, you’re learning the pattern recognition and the response technique required, then with a few key words of wisdom/de-briefing, all the pieces started to come together and the progression made so much sense… I still need to work on timing, technique and input energy, but the fundamentals and the recognition are there… I just need to work on the practice.
I feel so much more prepared for my first thermal season.
Can’t recommend a course with Karlis enough and will definitely be back to further my training. Thank you again!!

One of the best paragliding instructors I’ve had!

Where do I begin? I first did a progression flying course with Karlis in July 2024, as a very new pilot - and by the end of the week, I had progressed far beyond what I thought I was capable. To date, I’ve now done two more progression courses and SIV. I’m a completely different pilot to when I first started with Karlis. Where I live. XC flying doesn’t exist and thanks to Karlis’ coaching, I’ve flown my first 70km, competed in my first XC comp and gained so much more confidence in my flying that I don’t recognise myself. I cannot rave more about his high quality of coaching, care for his students, and focus on technique and safety. A huge thanks and appreciation too to Cecile who does all the behind the scenes work, retrieves, and so much more. Shoutout to Roman who is incredibly fast with retrieves!

Excellent guide, clear explanations by text and diagrams to provide a range of potential routes varying in challenge. Comprehensive and accurate information on valley winds and thermal locations. The emphasis on safety and landing options is appreciated. This guide enabled me to achieve successful local flights and then go volbiv more than 100km to the north.

I did my second SIV with Karlis and I couldn't be any happier. He is really passionate about instructing and you can see it by the way he runs his courses. Each of us in the course, had different plan for progression that was determined by Karlis based on our performance and discussion. I landed each flight with big smile. I think Karlis course strategy by providing pre course material, debriefs after flights, video footage review and clear instructions really gives pilot confidence during the course. We had bad weather in the beginning of the course, but that didn't stop Karlis from going above and beyond to make sure we got our flights in once the weather cleared. Couldn't be any happier. Can't wait for next one. Thank you guys!
