Hi all, on Thursday evening we had to say goodbye to our 16 yr old Collie, Suki. We really thought things could not get any worse...we were wrong.
We contacted a local to Stretford pet crematorium who organised a vet for Suki to be euthanased at home in the place she has sat with me on the floor for so many years in the evening, the vet was not only professional but respectful of Suki and said he would take her to the crematorium. On Friday we messaged them to see when we could pick her up. We were told they would try for that day. When we later messaged them again my wife said she could not bear for her to be lying around, we were told she is not, she is processing at the moment. On Saturday at 12.03 pm we were told they were waiting on engraving and it would be later that evening At 17.22 we were told they were still waiting on engraving, at this point can i suggest you look at the attached picture to see the meaning of engraving. At 20.57 we sent a message saying we would pick her up tomorrow without engraving to which we were phoned. We were then told we could pick her up at 11.30 am as the engraving would be arriving. My wife arrived at about 11.20 to find no one appeared to be there. They were also not answering the phone or messages. After over an hour i, from home, managed to contact some one , she said she was not at home but would sort it out. At this point i threatened her with the police for the return of my dog. When i contacted her again she said she could not contact the owner either. At this same time the owner appeared out of the house...now 13.30 and said he had been locked out or in or something. We now have what we think is Suki back though due to the way this has been handled we have some doubt if only by virtue of the fact of them being so unprofessional leaving aside that there appears to have been some level of dishonesty. We have now realised the business is under new management and does not appear to be a member of the APPCC . Can any one tell me if they have had similar issues with a local pet crematorium? Please at this point do not name if so as i am currently considering my next move. Sorry for a long post but as with all dogs she was special and deserved better than this . From the very first phone call i was supported and the empathy everyone had was so comforting.
Lucy was especially great she went above and beyond during the really difficult time .
I just know my minx was well taken care of and ill be forever grateful for all your help you really helped our grieving process.

I have used Firtree before and so when I lost my best buddy a few weeks ago suddenly, I called Amanda and Lucy, who yet again with the most compassion and understanding went above and beyond. They called the vet and collected him, kept in touch with me at all times and were also on the end of the phone to support me. I can’t thank them enough for what they have done for me, such a painful thing to go through and delivered him home with the most treasured keepsakes…

My dear little Shih Tzu cookie went over rainbow bridge on Thursday I spoke to Lucy and she sorted out her collection speedy and efficiently she was cremated and brought back to us the next day by Robert in a little box with her name engraved a lock of her hair and a paw print in clay, Lucy and rob made the difficult time more bearable and professional an excellent service one that I would use again when the time comes. Thank you.

I have used Firtree Pet Crematorium before and sadly I needed their services again after my Kerry Blue Lola very unexpectedly passed away on the 15/4/2025. Losing a pet is always traumatic and deeply upsetting. Lucy and Rob did everything possible to make the procedure as easy as it possibly could be. Rob picked up Lola at around 8:15pm on Tuesday, from home, and returned the following Thursday at midday with her ashes, paw print and a lock of her hair in a beautiful little box with her name engraved on a brass plaque. I can't thank them enough for their help. I just couldn't bear the thought of leaving Lola at the Vet, wanting a dignified end to her beautiful life. She will be sadly missed by all her family including her brothers Bear and Teddy.

Very highly recommend indeed.
