I was a tenant at a property in Nottingham city centre for two years with FHP and was extremely disappointed on countless amounts of occasions with lack of communication, empathy and professionalism from multiple teams within the company. As a student living away from home for the first time I felt as though me and my fellow tenants were let down many times concerning the state of the flat and also treatment towards us.
In our last year of living there we had dead birds hanging from the broken net outside our flat which we all had messaged for months about and nothing was done about it. The birds were left to swell and rot right outside our kitchen window and it took two months for them to sort out this issue. This situation was not dealt with quick enough considering how many times we had contacted them and were clearly ignored. There was also a situation where pigeons entered one of the bedrooms because of the netting not being fixed (we had been messaging for around a year to fix this net as it was banging against windows) and when we called to ask if they can help us they said no and stated that it apparently wasn’t their business which left all of us angry, upset and distressed.
During our tenancy and also after we had moved out of the flat there were a concerning amount of times where we were accused of underpaying our rent, which always ended up being a misjudgement on the accounts team’s side. We understood that mistakes can happen but it was enraging how many times they pointed a finger at us, including a claim from Melinda Gwesu that one of us owed £31,500K which is outrageous for a uni student. Every single claim was false. Two weeks after moving out, we received another claim from Melinda Gwesu who sent an email to all tenants and all guarantors stating that if we don’t pay more money to them they will take further action on us. This email contained absolutely no information on this claim and no proof of where this underpayment came from. When we replied to this email asking for more information because they had clearly made another mistake, they stopped answering all emails and calls and refused to return one of the girls deposits when they stated they had already done it.
The amount of mistreatment from this company was disgusting and I do not recommend to any future students.
Our experience with FHP Living has been nothing short of a nightmare. The level of incompetence, rudeness, and outright falsehoods we’ve had to deal with is staggering.
The so-called “Lettings & Management Accountant,” Melinda Gwesu, issued completely inaccurate arrears demands for my daughter’s tenancy. She falsely inflated the rent figure and then claimed hundreds of pounds of arrears that did not exist. This was not a minor error – her own receipts and FHP’s own ledger contradicted the claim. This level of incompetence beggars belief.
When challenged with evidence, she went silent. Not once did she respond to multiple emails, voicemails, or texts. Instead, FHP Living tried to use this fabricated arrears as an excuse to withhold a protected deposit. That is unacceptable and unprofessional.
Tenants and guarantors should not have to fight fabricated figures, ignored communications, and unlawful deposit withholding. The stress and inconvenience caused have been immense. As of 4pm I have still not received the deposit despite promises that it was sent via faster payments this morning.
FHP Living’s behaviour is unprofessional, incompetent and untrustworthy. I will be filing formal complaints with the Property Ombudsman, Trading Standards, and every other relevant body. In the meantime, prospective tenants and landlords should be warned: if this is how they treat people, avoid them at all costs
Jimmy from FHP living was extremely helpful and always a phone call away when we was looking for our next house. The process was very simply in comparison to others I have had in the past and the house was exactly how the photos showed it to be. Would highly recommend
Most definitely the worse agents I have ever delt with. Had to chase my deposit for nearly 2 weeks. Happy to call when they wanted payment - Do not use!!!

Absolutely dreadful experience. Tobi oliver the agent who showed us the Nottingham one apartment, was rude, passively aggressive and ignorant. From the moment we met, he was glued to his phone, barely glancing up to acknowledge our existence. It felt like we were interrupting his very important scrolling.
When i asked him about the property he
shrugged and mumbled something about "not really knowing."
It was clear he hadn't bothered to show us the property and refused the viewing once we got in the lift and left us to go upstairs without us being accompanied.
His laid-back attitude was was utterly unprofessional. He seemed completely disinterested in our needs or whether the apartment was a good fit for us.
Save yourself the time and frustration and look elsewhere.
Had the misfortune of renting with FHP and what a nightmare from beginning to end! Nothing is straight forward, staff have no idea of what they’re doing. Not surprised with the high turnover of staff. They will book maintenance people in or a routine visit and not turn up and you’re left waiting all day or turn up unannounced and even use their own key to enter with no warning. Absolute no regard for their tenants, it’s all about generating landlord income. The property we were in was in a disgraceful state and over the time we were there we were told to put up with it or leave. Leave we did cutting the tenancy short as it was affecting our daily lives and causing us so much stress. We’re much happier now renting off a more decent agency.
Moral of our misfortunate story - never touch a property with a fhp board on it ever again!
Significant concerns around damp and eventually a gas leak. Looking for rapid improvement. Does landlord know of the state of the property?

Lots of mould damp ceilings and walls wet floor broken furniture
Agency not taking responsibility for the terrible house conditions
Eventually builders came and were shocked with the state of the property
Please please do not use this company for students or anything else

Good luck renting here. Holly is extremely passive aggressive. Dodged a bullet. The properties themselves appeared to be decent if you overlook some damp and heating issues. After reading the reviews I am glad I did not become a guarantor.
Do not sign a joint and severally liable contract with this company as they take the easy option and enforce it rather than taking reasonable steps to recover any losses against individual tenants and their guarantors.
I signed a guarantor for my daughter thinking i was only liable for her, however the overarching agreement about joint and severally liable responsibility across all the tenants / guarantors meant that i was actually liable for all of the tenants (even the ones that seemed to have a credible guarantor).

Absolutely disgusted with the service or lack of from this Estate Agent. In regards to viewing I put in an offer albeit under guarantor and ensured regular contact over a 3 day period to enquire if there had been any further progression with my application only to be told that the agent responsible was on a call and would get in touch with me! - It must be one of the longest phonecalls she's ever been on as I'm still waiting! - Absolute Joke! don't use them if the shoe doesn't fit for them then they don't wanna know!
I've used FHP living in West Bridgford twice now for both buying and selling and in both cases Jules and Amelia have gone above and beyond to make it all happen. The selling of our property became a somewhat complex case but Jules was on hand every step of the way with advice and reassurance.
I would recommend FHP every time

Rubbish, lies, cheating... This is fhp living and all sister companies
Disgraceful! I moved into the property 1 month ago, dirty on arrival even though they said it would be professionally cleaned.
When I asked about car parking they said that there are no issues with parking and its allocated. Failed to show me that the actual car parking space requires going into a small car lift shaft. This is when I expressly explained to them that I require easy car parking as I have to get out and drive in the middle of the night.
Most significantly, they failed to inform me that the Landlord was selling the property. They have already arranged two viewings of the property after 3 weeks of me living at the address. No risk assessment, complete disregard to my health and safety.
Do not use FHP Living. You do not know what they are hiding from you.
Complete disregard for the law - repeatedly unlawfully entering the property during the pandemic - clearly a dishonest estate agent
