run away from them, they will fail you, even if you show them bank statement, they want know even if £1 tesco shopping they will ask where this money come from are they hmrc or just checking refrence

Totally unprofessional, disorganised, various different people ringing us asking us for the same information time and time again. They reviewed our case and forgot to add my partner, of course I am going to fail on my income alone! it is supposed to be a joint reference! They couldn't care less, our landlords are losing patience with the length of time they are taking. They want us to now supply details of income which we are not due to receive until the end of November. No common sense, surely, they should be looking at 6 months past??
Honestly, this whole business is making my partner and I really ill. The company should be ashamed of themselves, do not use and if a potential landlord wants to use this company avoid like the plague as they obviously don't care and are completely incompetent!!

Had an absolutely awful experience with paragon. If your letting agent is working with paragon to do the referencing I suggest you not to proceed with the property even if it’s a really good one just to avoid all the hassle and losing your deposit.
They didn’t even contact my employer to confirm my start date/wage and assumed my start date just by looking at my payslip. I offered to show my six months payslips or even my offer letter but apparently that wouldn’t change their decision which is a whole load of rubbish. Also contacting my employer and confirming all the details with them wouldn’t apparently change their decision either. How does all this make sense? I just think they want to fail the referencing and so they do without even considering the other documentation you are happy to provide. It’s a referencing company but they can’t even be bothered to do proper researching.
They won’t contact you in any way, you would need to chase them up yourself and even if you do they aren’t even helpful. AVOID this company at all costs.

Following on from my original review, here is an update for everyone to see exactly the kind of company FCC Paragon is. The response to my initial response from FCC Paragon is that what I mentioned was not factually correct. It turns out, that it was indeed factually correct, they had failed my reference because their due diligence was not carried out and they did not read the reference that my line manager had provided stipulating exactly what my maternity pay was and that it still met the threshold required for me to be able to rent a new home.
The worst thing in all of this is, had I not spent hours of my time questioning this, or if I had just agreed with the outcome, FCC Paragon wouldn’t have realised their ‘mistake’.
I was also surprised that they made my new landlord tell me about the mistake, and I had to phone up to ask why I wasn’t given an apology and the manager Emma told me to accept the phone call I made as the apology.
Due to their mistake, I had to beg my current landlord to stay after having handed in my notice, and have paid rent until the end of August. I was also subsequently given an August move in date for my new place and had to pay rent for that too, so I am now financially worse off because of FCC Paragon, and I was told that I have to call my landlord to get them to contact FCC Paragon to compensate me, yet wasting more of my time.
Complete and utter shambles!! I urge letting agents, landlords and tenants to stay away from this company, God knows how many references they have incorrectly failed!
The Paragon people as helpful as ever to deal with. Very personable.

Are these guys a legitimate outfit or running a scam?
I’ve never hearer of this company before now. As a “renter”, this is not a referencing agency that I have ever had to go through.
I received a letter from these cowboys dated 19th July 2022, stating that I owed them over £8500 in unpaid rent. What?
After some digging, I’ve found out that these arrears concern a new build development in Stratford, London (Cassia Point). I think it’s important to point out that I’d never heard of Cassia Point and moreover, have lived outside of London, in Hertfordshire for 5 of the last approx 6 years. Anyway, cutting to the chase, it would appear that somebody, at the same time I was living 1hr away in Hertfordshire, has bypassed all the ‘alleged’ due diligence of FCC Paragon and been able rent a property, using expired or invalid ID and giving wrong details. Never ever have I ever attended any estate agents (Chase Evans), handed over my ID. As it stands, Janet Ralph @ FCC Paragon is stating that that is how or the only way “my” ID was verified and FCC Paragon wouldn’t and didn’t in fact confirmed verify or confirm my identity THEMSELVES. Yet when you call FCC Paragon, they have a nice fancy voiceover that says they use “cutting edge facial recognition technology”….But yet none was ever used in order to rent this said property?? Why not? Do you use facial recognition software or not guys?
Janet Ralph, has to be the most incompetent, unhelpful and ignorant (in the correct sense of the word) person I’ve ever encountered in my life.
So far I’ve made reasonable requests to establish; the handwriting used at time of application to compare to my own, compare any signature’s, employment information supplied, current or previous address details, bank details, where, when and who I’m alleged to have met with to take out this tenancy. All of these requests and more, which will make this post extra long, so I won’t bother, have been implicitly denied by Janet Ralph. So currently we are at loggerheads. She/they won’t supply the information in order for me to disprove this ridiculousness.
So far, the only proof of identification they can say was used, was a drivers license…that didn’t even have the correct address I was living in at the time and wasn’t ever verified. Certainly not by FCC Paragon. Isn’t that their job? Incompetency!
What is my theory? Somebody at my previous address to my previous address (so 2 addresses ago) has got hold of my OLD drivers license and possibly an old bill and somehow bypassed all the necessary checks and been able to rent a property. Is it possible that someone within Chase Evans allowed somebody to pose as another person in branch in order to rent the apartment and bypass this process, in conjunction with FCC paragon not actually doing anything to verify the identity THEMSELVES via the software they claim they use. Friendly reminder, “Software” doesn’t use human or replace judgment!
Landlords, tenant’s alike, be wary if this company. In 2022 it is literally possible to rent a flat on someone else’s name and bypass all the necessary checks.
I am more than confident that I have enough proof of evidence that I have never lived in or rented this property (2502 Cassia Point) and am pretty sure once they establish which account any deposit paid came from, it will filter way from me. But so far I’ve had to endure chasing for an £8500+ debt that isn’t mine and several 0844 calls later.

I’m currently in the process of undergoing reference checks to rent a property. On my account progress all the references were completed apart for the employment. My employee has already given the reference confirming my employment and I had to upload 3 months bank statements and 3 payslips. Then I get asked to give open banking access (can’t really see the reason why as the reference was provided as well as payslips and bank statements to show my income). After giving access to open banking I get asked my employment contract. I upload and follow everything although I really do not see the reason why it’s needed. Then I get told the contract is too old and it will slow the process as they were expecting it to be dated 2022. I really wish I could’ve avoided this company as I had a really bad experience before but here we go again. This is the worst process I had to go through, they keep asking for more documents when they already have all they need. The other tenants renting the property with me have finished their reference checks uploading LESS documents than me being in the same exact situation (employment wise). Why is it taking so long to finish my checks and why are so many unnecessary personal data being requested?

How refreshing it was to do business with your Gemma yesterday evening.
She spoke English and without any heavy foreign accent so i was easily able to understand everything she said. That made a welcome change.
It is most unusual especially in this God forsaken prison called australia to find someone who actually does what they say they are going to do.
Gemma did not hide behind red tape when faced with a problem, instead she promised to find out what i wanted to know and explained it to me in terms i could understand the moment she had the answer then contacted me in australia.
Many of the people i have to deal with in the UK wouldn't even know how to dial australia let alone speak coherently when they made contact.
So i would give your Gemma 5 stars for representing Paragon in such a professional and efficient manner.
Whatever it is you're paying her its probably not enough.

This is one of the most terrible companies we have ever dealt with. We took out a rental warranty with them and unfortunately our tenant wasn't able to pay rent from may-november. We have only received two months of the rent back and are still down thousands of pounds. The tenants moved out two months ago and Chelsea and Melita have since ignored all our emails, not sent us a payment plan or informed us in any way how or when we will receive the money. We have constantly had to chase them up, even to get the small amount of money we did. They kept apologizing then promising they would look into it, then radio silence and then they wouldn't actually look into it or help us get our money back. Terrible company and terrible service. Seeing some of the positive reviews below it's difficult to believe it's the same company. We are thousands of pounds in debt and stressed, which is why we bought out the warranty to avoid.

Awful communication- He kept changing what documents I needed to provide stating I haven't provided him with the correct documents. Numerous very unprofessional and aggressive phone calls later I was finally approved.
