Waiting for a refund for 5 months

After goods were ordered I was told they were not in stock. I cancelled the order and requested a refund on 19 March 2025. Despite many emails since then I am still waiting for a refund. It is now 19 August 2025.

Avoid – Misleading Stock Information & Illegal Refund Delay

UPDATE:On 14 August 2025, after multiple chases and past the legal 14-day refund deadline, ENRGTECH did process my refund, sent via Wise. While I’m relieved to have finally received the money, the process was unnecessarily drawn out and would not have been resolved without persistent follow-up.

Original review:
I ordered from ENRGTECH LTD on 25 July 2025 because their website showed the items “in stock” (10 available). After placing the order, I was later told they had no stock and would need a 10-week lead time.

I cancelled the order on 31 July 2025 and was told I’d be refunded £413.10. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, UK law requires that online order refunds be processed within 14 days of cancellation. That deadline has now passed and I still have no refund.

Their original listing misrepresented stock availability, which is a potential breach of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.

I have chased repeatedly by email. They claimed they were “trying” to refund but then requested my bank details instead of refunding to the original credit card used — something any reputable company can do instantly.

I am now having to escalate to my credit card company under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and report them to Trading Standards.

My advice: Avoid this company. They do not follow UK consumer law, they advertise stock they don’t have, and they hold on to customer money far longer than legally allowed.

We had been sourcing a particular item and found it online with EnrgTech, where it was priced lower than our previous supplier. The order was placed, and we received the item promptly, along with regular email updates throughout the process.

I seem to have fallen for the same…

I seem to have fallen for the same issues as other people. Ordered in February, and they took our money, only recently noticed our stock was down and that we'd not had the delivery, so started chasing (three weeks ago).
Since then we've had numerous, delivery dates which all came and went, still no goods.

Paid for product in February

Paid for product in February, never delivered, as out of stock, tried countless times now for a refund to no avail.
This review prompted action and we got the refund. It shouldn't take countless emails and promises and 7 months to get our money. Interesting that giving a poor review prompted immediate attention

Competitive pricing

Competitive pricing made them stand out, and kit received without a problem. Placed the order without issue but did not hear anything again. After a week I phoned them for an update and was informed of it being a back-order and given a new ETA. After that things went smoothly according to plan. Would've been 5 stars if they reached out proactively about the delay but I'm happy otherwise.

No stock and no money back avoid

Ordered goods checked twice to see if they had in stock one via web site and one via phone call as I was sending a van 120 miles out his way to collect, confirmed in stock and took my payment, van arrived no stock on site been 3 nearly weeks and still no money back ———update fund have now been credited back to myself
