I note the further response below. Nobody made me aware of delays being possible. As a customer, calling a deposit of £300 a "processing fee" doesn't make me any happier. For any trustpilot readers, I am happy to recommend leasecar.uk ........ they met their part of deal without any problems.
I note the response from Silverstone aka Embrace. The reality is that THEY let ME down ........ and then justified holding onto an old age pensioner's £300 deposit. Caveat - read the small print!
Our old LEX lease deal was coming to an end in 3 months and Embrace gave us a great price to dovetail with the end of our LEX contract. However, with 2 weeks to go, they told us that our new car wouldn't be available until months down the line! We were shocked - and more shocked when Embrace (aka Silverstone) said it was all down to VW. We needed to then buy a car, essential for us and tried to cancel our order with Embrace. They wanted to hold onto our £300 deposit AND they wanted 2 months of payments. Eventually, they reneged and didn't take the 2 months, but refused to give back our £300 deposit. Even although THEY let US down! We have to say, be very careful to read and re-read every single word in the small print of their conditions. We'd never recommend them to anyone.

I do understand your frustration, and I’m genuinely sorry the experience hasn’t met your expectations.
Just to keep the facts clear for others reading:
The delay was caused by a Volkswagen factory model-year change, not by Embrace Leasing.
We passed the update to you as soon as we received it and explored alternatives to help.
The £300 wasn’t a “deposit” but a non-refundable processing fee you agreed to when placing the order, covering the work already completed.
The additional cancellation fee of one month’s rental (also in the signed terms) was waived in full as a goodwill gesture.
We do respect your right to share your opinion, but we also have to ensure the facts are represented accurately for the benefit of other customers.

Thank you for sharing your experience — we’re genuinely sorry that things ended on a disappointing note for you.
For full clarity to others reading, here’s what happened from our side:
1. The Order & Expected Delivery
You placed your order in May, with the intention for your new vehicle to replace your existing one seamlessly when your Lex lease ended.
At that point, delivery dates were based on the manufacturer’s estimated build schedule — which is standard across the industry. These are always estimated rather than guaranteed, as production delays can occur.
2. The Manufacturer Delay
In mid-July, the supplying dealer notified us that Volkswagen had implemented a model-year change, which affected factory build slots nationally. Your build was moved to week 38 with an ETA in October.
We passed this information to you as soon as we received it, and we understand your disappointment — especially being so close to your planned changeover.
3. Attempts to Help
Following the delay, we:
Looked for alternative vehicles at your price point
Advised on lease extensions with Lex to bridge the gap
Explained short-term hire options
Continued checking the market for earlier stock
We accept these solutions didn’t work for you, but they were offered in good faith to prevent you being without a car.
4. The Cancellation & Fees
When you requested to cancel:
The signed order form states a non-refundable £300 processing fee, which covers the work already completed (quotations, credit checks, documentation, lender and dealer administration, communication, post-sale support and sourcing of alternatives).
It also states a cancellation fee equal to one month’s rental.
To act fairly and reflect the circumstances, we waived the full cancellation fee, even though it applied under contract. The processing fee was retained in line with the agreement you signed.
5. On “Small Print”
We don’t hide terms in small print. All fees and conditions are clearly visible in the order form you signed electronically. We also send all customers a copy immediately for transparency and reference.
6. Your Review
We absolutely understand why the situation was frustrating — having to buy a car unexpectedly is never ideal. However, the delay was not caused by inaction or neglect on our part. It was a manufacturer-level change that affected many customers across the market.
We did:
✔ Keep you updated immediately
✔ Explore alternative solutions
✔ Cancel the order when asked
✔ Waive the contractual cancellation fee in full
We did not:
✘ Cause the delay
✘ Refuse communication
✘ Apply additional charges beyond what was signed for
We do respect your right to share your experience, and we’re sorry you’ve been left feeling let down. Our door is still open should you want to discuss this directly or give us the opportunity to make future dealings better.

Great company to deal with…
Great company to deal with both the sales and the lease admin teams. Very helpful and accommodating (when the recent EV grant kicked in after signing the docs and prior to delivery they were able to requote and reduce the lease cost prior to delivery). Also they were able improve the delivery from the dealer to meet a personal hard deadline. So very happy with the service and response times to many queries and requests.

Incredible service from start to finish!
Adam in sales was really helpful when I was let down at the last minute by another leasing company. Although they were unable to secure the same vehicle within my tight timeframe (2 weeks!) they came up with a much better alternative for around the same price and the car was delivered in 10 days! I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, I'm one happy customer!

I recently leased a car for the first time and spoke to a few different companies before deciding. I chose embrace leasing because Adam was by far the friendliest and most helpful – he took the time to answer all my questions (and there were a lot!), which made the whole process much less daunting. Mandy was also fantastic in securing me an excellent delivery date. The service throughout has been professional, efficient, and really personable. Almost too good to be true
This company has done everything that I wanted them to do. Their prices were very competitive (much lower than the main dealers), they could offer a 2 year deal on a hybrid vehicle whilst I am deciding about going fully electric which nobody else was offering. All of my questions were answered swiftly, when we had to change the date because of the collection of my old car, Embrace were very helpful. When the car was delivered without car mats Embrace contacted the dealer and the mats were delivered 2 days later.
