10/10 Angela!
Had the best time at Eden Hall, Angela was the best host, she made our experience would definitely come back for her! A credit to the company.
If you’re looking for rude staff and rude managers - this is the place!
Pool was freezing, discussed at work the next day and when I mentioned Eden Hall, 2 people asked me if the pool was cold for us too, yes, it was, too cold to venture into. This was of course argued by the manager - who said it was 36 degrees, I asked her At what time was it 36 degrees and she didn’t know … ‘in the summer’ I think was the likely answer.
Sadly we had cause for complaint on our visit. They were clearly very short staffed on the day which led to long waits on food, long waits to be seated and no one collecting drinks orders, the cocktails didn’t arrive until midway through the main course … we had to ask for cutlery twice, the food came with nothing to eat it with, we have to ask for menus, then we had to ask to order … one waitress was incredibly rude and then low and behold came off duty and sat with us in the spa! We reported it at the time and her supervisor said it wasn’t the time or the place to discuss it. Was left with no other option to finish the day and email the complaint. Nobody contacted so I had to chase it with a phonecall. Duty manager listened and was empathetic but I misunderstand the offer to return, I expected it was on the same package we had initially had ruined - no, it was an offer to return but on the very basic package. The voucher was not emailed as promised either and I had to chase again. When the basic package came through I escalated to the Eden hall manager who was incredibly passive aggressive: ‘I’m sorry that you were happy and you’ve since decided that you’re not’ … kind of tones … frustrated with the nastiness … I escalated the matter to Nerys (Managing Director who you will note replies to some of the reviews on here. Her response my escalation was nothing short of a school head teacher telling off a child. So all in all from waitress to managing director - the staff are rude, in descending order! The managers are in fact THE rudest. It’s as though they feel they’re superior to you for not good reason.
There were exceptions, I had 2 lovely treatments with nice therapists, the welcoming staff were lovely as was the booking agent.
When we went for treatments, whoever checked in asked ‘ah yes you’re here for gel nails?’ Everyone had to correct her, they just couldn’t catch anyone on with that old stunt when everyone had paid already for more expensive treatments.
Very disappointed, manners and empathy are free of charge. In fact, very little compensation needed to be offered if a pleasant listening ear and empathy is shown. However if you have a complaint - take my word for it - there is no point escalating it as the further up you get, the more annoyed they are that you dared to want value for your own money and that you have dared to bother them with something so petty as your experience. I recommend Ragdale Hall, their management are incredible helpful as are the staff, I’m afraid, once this place have your money - they’re annoyed you bother to show up! And they show it! Nerys - please don’t trouble yourself to respond to my review - your email was rude enough - happy to cut and paste it here if you’re still wanting an argument and to goad your clients.
Spa day for wife's birthday
Great spa day with my wife for her birthday. Facilities excellent, too many to name but the outdoor pool on a cold winter's day being the best. Great food, an excellent massage from Faith and great service from all other staff members. Very impressed all round.
Left without ordered gift vouchers on Christmas Eve
Purchased two spa day gift vouchers on 13th Dec, I wanted them delivered to me so I could give them nicely packaged to my daughters on Christmas day, instead I'm left on Christmas Eve with nothing ! After speaking to someone at their call centre I have been email the vouchers, since I don't have a printer I have no option than to forward them the email on Christmas Day it's hardly the same is it !!!! To say I'm livid is an understatement I feel upset and disappointed after spending for me what was a lot of money. I have visited both Eden Hall and Ragdale Hall in that area and in future know which spa I will be using and it won't be Eden Hall. Their Website states
order before 15th delivered before Christmas !
Disappointing Spa Experience with Poor Service and Oversight
Review for Eden Hall Day Spa
I had high hopes for Eden Hall Day Spa, but unfortunately, my experiences left me feeling incredibly disappointed. What was meant to be a relaxing and rejuvenating visit turned into a series of mishaps, poor service, and underwhelming hospitality.
Our first visit was marred by a booking error, and while vouchers were offered as compensation, the rebooked Twilight Spa session, coinciding with my birthday, was even more problematic.
Treatments:
While my massage was excellent—professional, attentive, and relaxing—my friend Sarah had a distressing experience. Despite specifying a gentle massage, she was subjected to an intense deep tissue massage by a student beautician. Sarah left her treatment in pain, bruised, and visibly upset. The beautician even admitted she’d been cautioned previously about using too much pressure. This raises serious concerns about staff training and oversight.
Although the manager attempted to resolve this by redoing Sarah’s facial and providing a voucher for a future massage, it felt like a disjointed effort. Instead of a restorative experience, Sarah was left with red, irritated skin due to excessive use of products.
Facilities:
While waiting for Sarah’s facial redo, I was left alone in the aftercare lounge for an extended period. The lounge was pleasant but lacked basic amenities, like phone charging facilities, and no one offered me a drink or checked in to ensure I was comfortable. Eventually, I ordered a hot chocolate, which was overpriced (£10) and mediocre at best.
Dining Experience:
The dining experience was even more disappointing. The menu was underwhelming and felt completely out of place for a spa setting. Options like Thai chicken curry and beef bourguignon felt heavy and uninspired. When we asked for recommendations, the waitress admitted she would struggle to choose anything herself—not exactly reassuring.
We settled on halloumi salad but had to order it with ciabatta separately and assemble it ourselves, which seemed absurd. The dessert was equally disappointing. While the Victoria sponge was enjoyable, the butterscotch tart was inedible—lacking the rich, creamy texture you’d expect. When I shared my dissatisfaction, the waitress dismissed it with a curt “It’s homemade,” offering no apology or alternative.
Customer Service:
The overall service was underwhelming. Staff were unaccommodating, dismissive, and at times, outright rude. When paying the bill, we discovered we’d been overcharged for side dishes, and no one addressed our earlier complaints about the meal. The receptionist’s attitude made us feel like we were being judged as troublemakers.
Final Thoughts:
When you pay for a premium spa experience, you expect quality service and attention to detail. Unfortunately, Eden Hall Day Spa failed to deliver on both counts. From treatment issues to a poor dining experience and dismissive customer service and poor management Angela , the experience was far below the standard they advertise. I wouldn’t recommend this spa and will not be returning.

Heartless
Booked a spa day as part of a group of friends. We're spread out around the UK and picked Eden Hall because it was a central point for us all.
Just found out unexpectedly that I have to have an urgent gynaecological diagnostic procedure two days before the spa day. Worst case uterine cancer. Hoping it's the best case. So I can't go on the spa day due to bleeding from the procedure. I explained this over the phone and asked if they could make an exception given the above and refund me the cost of the spa day. The rest of our group are still going.
They said the best they could do would be to reschedule my spa day or give me a voucher for a new spa day (less admin fee).
I explained this doesn't work for me because I don't live locally and the reason we chose Eden Hall was because it was a good meeting point for our group of friends.
They refused to make an exception in my case. I understand that they don't have to give me a refund under the terms and conditions I agreed to. But given my unexpected medical issue, which has come like a bolt from the blue, I'm disappointed they aren't sympathetic to my situation by giving a refund in this instance.
Eden Hall never disappoints
I am a fairly regular visitor to Eden hall. I visited earlier this month and the addition of the outdoor pool has elevated it to the next level. It is stunning, a great place to chill. The pool is fabulous but it’s also great to just relax on a sunbed. I would like to mention Gail, she has looked after us a few times. She always remembers us and goes out of her way to make sure that we have a great day. She has a lovely personality and always makes us laugh. She is an asset to Eden Hall, please pass on our thanks.
Amazing Spa Day
My friend and I enjoyed a beautiful Spa day on the 22nd August. We both had a wonderful day the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Food was amazing. The treatments we both received were fantastic. I had the deluxe pedicure given by Chelsey. Wow what an amazing Therapist she was. So friendly and professional. Made me feel very relaxed and special. I also had a terrace Energy facial given by Jade. Again another great therapist so professional, she made me feel amazing. Looking forward to coming back very soon.
Fantastic experience
Fantastic experience, so I know I have wrote a review before which wasn’t overly positive, but I went back again for my 40th and I had such a wonderful time. The staff were so friendly, and more than happy to help, and the new hydro pool outside is out of this world, the only negative I can say was the food for our 3 course meal wasn’t the best but the presentation was great. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely go again😊.
Spa lovely....food not so
The spa and treatments were great but I have to agree with many other comments on here that the lunches are not what they were compared to a few years ago. Please Eden Hall bring back the wonderful lunch buffets as they were superb. My lunch was tasteless and unappetizing and as another person has commented you no longer have a cold drink included in the price of your lunch or a tea/coffee afterwards. Definitely a feeling of 'cutting corners' going on here....
Awful experience the place was dirty…
Awful experience the place was dirty and badly maintained. Mold on bathroom ceilings pool area was dirty and hadn’t been swept up from the day before so makes you wonder what other things they are not cleaning. The outdoor pool was shut with no prior warning while they were having scaffolding put up. You would think they would close for a few days while they are doing this with the constant drilling but no there no regard for your experience. The treatment we received were nice but there are far better spas in the area that are kept clean.
Edan hall - Fab!
I visited Edan Hall yesterday with my mum and the whole day from start to finish was great! I particually loved the outside heated pool and lunch was really nice. Ambiance very pretty and Christmassy. I also had a one hour frangipani massage and facial with Eleanor who gave me a lovely treatment and was very gentle. I would recommend Edan Hall as a brilliant, lovely and relaxing spa day.
Good fortune to have visited many spas…
Good fortune to have visited many spas and Eden Hall is a cut above. The addition of the hydrotherapy pool and outside area make it even more special.. it's beautifully done. The interior is now large enough for it not to feel busy when the car park says otherwise! The many separate dining rooms create a cosy ( and excellent) lunch experience. The atmosphere is very good, it's staffed by mostly young people who don't hesitate to help, and avoid it feeling ' stuffy' or 'snobby' which may suit an hotel, but not a spa where we all seek to relax. I've had many massages in my long life but got the best here ( thank you Devon) Fabulous place
A mixed day
A mixed day. The Reception staff were excellent, registration was quick and we were soon on our way. On arrival for breakfast I was greeted by a lady as her 'darling' and I do not like being addressed in that way. However, I kept quiet. I was in a party of three ladies and we were collectively referred to as 'guys'. Its just a point to mention to management that not everyone welcomes over familiarity. The service for our early morning visit for breakfast of just toast was painfully, painfully slow. We were about to give it up as a lost cause but the waiter arrived. Toast was in a basket - I would have preferred a plate but as we sat outside I imagine this is for health and safety reasons. No napkin was offered but I assume I would have been given one if I'd asked. My particular treatment of a head massage (although it was more of a feet, leg, arm, face and neck massage with very little treatment to my head) was very nice but not quite what I expected. Nonetheless, very pleasant and administered beautifully. The outdoor facilities were excellent - the new pool is sublime and the surroundings beautiful. In my opinion, the indoor pool and area could do with a facelift, its looking tired and was considerably cooler than the outdoor pool. The loutish behaviour of a male in the indoor pool (diving, and hand-standing) was irritating enough to have me depart to a lounger outdoors in the garden which was only disturbed by more loutish behaviour of people shouting and squealing in the hot tubs. Lunch was absolutely superb and this was only marred by two quite generously proportioned females deciding it was appropriate to take off their dressing gowns at the table. The management cannot be held responsible for the manners of their clientele but perhaps Spa etiquette signage might be appropriate dotted here and there? It was overall a beautiful day but there were too many rowdy people disregarding those there for some peace and quiet. Would I return? Doubtful because of the negative points raised.

Had a lovely time at the spa for my birthday. The facilities were really good and the outdoor pool was beautiful. The restaurant staff were excellent, very attentive and always making sure we were happy. Had a fantastic full body massage by therapist Freya (thank you Freya) felt extremely relaxed after. The whole experience was brilliant. Thank you for a lovely day/birthday.
Had the twilight session
Had the twilight session. All facilities were clean and available, massage was average. The water fountain was broken by the pool, the staff in the restaurant whilst polite were slow, uncorked warm wine and brought the drinks out almost after dinner was finished, the food was tasteless, the light dinner is light… I mean toddler portions and the cake was so dry! Real shame. Disappointing.
Baffled
Myself, daughters and daughter in law went to Eden Hall on 15/4/23. Although the spa was lovely, the treatments were not so great.
I had a facial, which was probably the worse I’ve ever had. 2 others had the same massage. Both were left baffled by what they had experienced. All they are interested in is what products they can sell you.
