Hi Mark, oh dear, how easy it is to try mislead other customers.
During your call this morning, it was very clearly explained to you that the part was orderable, but the manufacturer was out of stock and was waiting for more stock to be manufactured. As soon as they supplied the part, we would send it to you.
We had no problem leaving the part on order, or refunding it for you, but when asked what you would like to do, you became angry and abusive.
If you happened to find someone who had one in stock, then that is great and we are very pleased for you. To be honest, if you feel you can speak to our staff the way you did, when they were only trying to do their best for you, we would rather you used someone else for your parts anyway.

Near impossible to contact. I do not like companies who take your money then after me chasing the order to be told that items are not in stock this day and age parts should be next day ! Other companies can and I did send a web enquiry with no response

Hi Ben, sorry you have not been able to reach us. The phones are mega busy at this time of year, but the phone message does say to use the contact us form on the site if you cannot get through. I cannot see a web enquiry from you though.
Your order was placed on 25th May and was dispatched to you yesterday. You should have received a dispatch notification email.
With the bank holiday weekend, it took us 2.5 working days to get this part dispatched to you, which to be fair at this time of year and with the volume of orders coming through, is pretty good.
The dispatch email will have contained the tracking number for the parcel, but we will email that to you privately, in case you did not receive it, or it went into your spam folder.

Not receiving my order
I have the same problem as the majority of customers. Order Stihl equipment on the 16th of February 2023. Were promised despatch within 7 to 10 working days. On the 10th of March, I contacted them to find out why this order was not dispatched yet and they said there was an issue with automatic ordering software and it will be fixed. By the 15th of March, I contacted them again to ask, where we are at with this order. On the 16th Jon said they are hoping to have the order on that Friday. Then dead silence, no answering emails at all. I just want a refund

Yes, our sincere apologies for this situation. There was a problem with one manufacturer only, and it has taken longer to resolve than expected. We received a delivery of 800 lines of backorders on Tuesday, which is being processed now. The situation has been resolved and the parts are coming through again now.
To add insult to injury, your reply to the web enquiry, we had been corresponding on, dropped into an unmonitored mailbox for some reason, we are addressing this also.
I will cancel and refund your order for you straight away.

No delivery of parts ordered
Items listed as being in stock but when enquired about delivery of goods I was told that they were not in stock.They said it would take between 7-14 days still no sign of them.

Hi John, sorry you have not received your order as yet. If an item is out of stock, it comes in from the manufacturer and this is normally only a couple of days. If they are out of stock, then we are dependant on their supply.

Test your patience with DIY spares
Ordered Stihl spares mid January. No delivery by end of January due to Stihl not despatching spares apparently. Still no delivery by mid February also due to Stihl deliveries. Contacted L&S engineering on a Friday and parts delivered on following Monday. Replies from Jon were prompt until I asked for a refund. Now mid March and still waiting for a refund.

Hi Kevin, so sorry about this. We discovered the problem was at our end and orders had not been transmitted. This was fixed, but with such a lot of orders, it has taken longer than expected to resolve and get stock in. Most orders have been sorted and the remainder will be tomorrow.
Regarding your contact with us for a refund, yes, this was missed as it was a reactivated older enquiry and did not come up on our notifications. We are working with Freshdesk to prevent this from happening again.
I am currently on holiday and have just seen your Trustpilot review. I can understand your frustrations and sincerely apologise for this situation.
I contacted the office and your order was refunded in full this morning.

A top service from Jon of DIY Spare Parts. I have 20y old machines - Stihl BR420 leaf blower & Husqvarna 232R brush cutter. I had been informed by a local repair shop the machines were obsolete & beyond repair but with OEM parts from Jon, both are now running perfectly.

Super service for DIY online shoppers!
Old Mountfield lawnmower back in action today on Isle of Islay Sunday 11 Dec with spare part arrived safe and sound Saturday 10 Dec, due to great packing which had kept it intact thro' Royal Mail delays. Customer Support is Excellent!
Ordered a part and the wrong one was sent by their wholesale supplier. This was due to a mislabelling error on the far end - totally not DIYSpareParts fault. Even so, the Customer Support Team took the problem in hand and after a number of back-and-forths (which I was not directly involved in) got the wholesaler to sort out their labeling and got me the correct part. I am very pleased.

An excellent company to deal with, all queries are answered very quickly and they even sent me a drawing of the part I was ordering to make sure it was the right one. They then compiled an order for me so all I had to do was pay. The sort of service that is so sadly lacking nowadays.
