Called them. They said they can't offer a quote until they get here. Seemed strange. Looked around. Looked on here. Cancelled them due to reviews. They threatened me saying they know where I live.

DO NOT TOUCH WITH A BARGE POLE!!!!! Came out to unlock a key cabinet. Wanted to cut open the key cabinet open rather than unlock it. Took less than a minute and wanted to charge us £500!!!!!!!!!! Which after a heated debate reduced to £250!!!! And ended up paying £85 in cash to get him to leave. Absolutely awful attitude and doubt whether he was locksmith at all. DO NOT USE.

Said it would be 30-40 mins. After 1 hour, called them back. Took 9 calls for them to pick up and hang up as soon as we said we called earlier and no one has arrived

Turned up with only equipment to destroy lock and insert new one, charged £420 after initially telling me £350 (no mention that VAT wasn’t included) left a mess over my porch and didn’t even pick up the old lock. Front door handle is now half hanging off. Complete amateurs and surge pricing specialists

Initially told it would be £45 to get in.

When the locksmith arrived it jumped to £160+VAT for a basic opening and £180+VAT to drill the lock out.

Not skilled locksmiths at all. Didn't even understand the door even though I described where the slam bolts where located. There was no chance he would have ever opened it with that technique. In the end I told him to leave as it really was amateur hour.

Judging by the other feedback I'm glad I did and dodged a bullet!

Avoid at all costs.
Quoted £ 180, but charged over £ 650, for a simple job. Avoid. Really unpleasant experience. And left job a real mess.

My 78 year old father in law had a fall and left the key in the door so no one could get into the house after ringing delta they said they would be half hour and it took them an hour and forty mins to come and slapped the family with a £544 bill, wish I could upload a photo of the mess they left behind and the shoddy work on the door 😡

Biggest scammers known to man. Take advantage of people and their kindness. On the phone said £45 turned up tried to charge us nearly £600 for a job that costs £90-100 MAX. we sent him away and found a much better locksmith who knew all about their scamming, rude and inconsiderate behaviour. AVOID AVOID!!!

Luckily they messed me around when looking for an emergency locksmith for my 93 year old mother, so after 2 1/2 hours of waiting and calling to see where they were I cancelled them and found someone much more reliable. Then I read these reviews - I think we had a lucky escape. When I told the reliable locksmith about Delta, he told me that I would either have been ripped off by them or they would have failed to turn up.

I wish I had checked this before I had them come round. Invoice was for £260 Which I agreed to. Checking my bank they took £322. And extra £82 I did not agree to or was told about. I’m not happy.

My partner left his keys inside so called out these rip off merchants they charged him 1125 pounds

Before the work he told us that it would cost around £150. We paid £600 for his 20 minutes' work. He didn't put in a new lock, just changed the cylinder. Don't use this company.

I had locked myself out and searched for an independent, local locksmith in my home town. Delta-locksmiths popped up first on the list claiming to be local. I rang and asked how much to open my front door, he said “£45 for a simple lock”. I accepted and a guy turned up and said that the lock “was not simple, it was very difficult”. He told me it would cost £180+VAT to open the door. I was very unhappy about this, but it was late evening and I was desperate to get in. He used a drill and 3-4 minutes later he had opened the door! I asked how could it be ‘difficult’ if it only took 3-4 minutes and how could he justify charging £180. He said I was paying for his skill and expertise and not the time it took. Then he told me that I had to pay for a replacement lock, when I thought it was £180 for the whole thing! I was given 4 price options, but he said the first 2 options for £85 and £120 were ‘easy to pick’ locks. So I went for option 3, the cheapest ‘high security lock’ and this was another £180+VAT. He also tells me that I have to pay for labour and this was another £85+VAT.

By this time, I am beyond upset as I now have to pay over £500. The ‘technician’ as he kept referring to himself absolved himself of all responsibility for pricing and so I rang Delta back and told the guy that he had deliberately misled me. He took no responsibility and said that he could not possibly list his entire pricing strategy if the lock was not ‘simple’. (I have since discovered that front doors are generally fitted with high security locks - so he knew straight away that it would not be simple’).

When he finished the ‘technician’ said that he would not charge me the ‘call out’ fee as a favour! (He had been on phone to the boss who was probably afraid I would not pay at all if they told me about any more hidden costs).

In total, it cost me £535, a far cry from £45! And even if the lock was simple I wasn’t informed at the outset of labour charges and a call out fee. I have reported Delta-locksmiths to Trading Standards.

THEY CHARGE YOU DOUBLE OF WHAT THE JOB IS WORTH. SINCE JUNE 2025 THE COMPANY IS DORMANT AND THAT DOESN’T LOOK RIGHT SINCE THEY ARE STILL OPERATING.
THEY ARE ALSO CONNECTED TO ANOTHER COMPANY CALLED GENERAL SERVICE.
AVOID !!! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!

This company has a similar name to other companies - the website is delta-locksmiths.co.uk - check it. My 90 year old mother left her key indoors in her house in Braintree. I googled locksmith Braintree and this company appeared at the top as a sponsored search result. He quoted me £45 over the phone for a ‘simple job’. He arrived within the hour and glanced briefly at the door before looking around the house for open windows etc. when there were none, he said to me that he would need to drill out the lock and that would cost £180 - and that the lock would be destroyed. I expressed disbelief that this was necessary. In response to my resistance, and ONLY AT THIS POINT did he ask whether the door was double locked. I said I didn’t know, my mother said no. He said ‘this is important’. I repeated that it wasn’t. Then he retrieved his inflatable air wedge from his car and attended at last to the door. He opened it very quickly. Then he billed my mother for the £45 quoted, plus an unquoted £65 call out fee, plus VAT = £132. Cheaper than his original plan of £180 + £65 + VAT + the cost of a new lock etc. AVOID.
