Amazing services

I went into BDO and spoke with Richard. The first initial meeting was amazing as has every encounter afterwards. We originally thought I would need to file a bankruptcy, however after looking at my income Richard determined that the best solution for me would be a proposal. I highly recommend going to BDO if you require assistance with your debts.

Lack of personal care

I felt that they got me in, made the bankruptcy happen invest getting there fees. And then I felt in the dark quite often. I get being pushed to another person to another person. And those other people didn't have the answers. So I would go back to the original person that did the bankruptcy and they would be annoyed and say oh I don't deal with that department anymore. And then calling up in a panic attack feeling blindsided by information I feel they should have known and have let me know about, the person was pretty much a bi*#h to me being short and had the " I could do no wrong" attitude. With little or 0 empathy for my experience. Sands and Associates customer care was much better

Hands down the worst experience iv ever…

Hands down the worst experience iv ever had with a company, unprofessional, inexperienced, would never give me an answer on my questions. Never responded to calls or emails, had to send several emails or calls to even get a response or show up at the office. I now have a 11,500 lein on my home thanks to the advice of the trustee and my answer to the problem was sorry you have to pay that, iv been bounced around to 5 different trustees and not one of them helped me. Do yourself a favor if you are going threw this process use any other company out there. My experience with this company was pathetic at best I'm going to end up paying more then I owed in the first place. 2 years after signing I'm still dealing with it. As soon as you sign they stop talking to you. Worst customer service iv ever received and when I do get a response it's an arrogant degrading answer.

She is so wonderful, knowledgeable, always on time, kind, and right on point. I went through my process so soft, gentle, with ease, calm, and totally peaceful.

I am so fortunate to BDO and the…

I am so fortunate to BDO and the amazing job the trustees do. Especially Catherine Harrison and Laura Demchuk. They are so compassionate and caring. My consumer proposal passed and I so grateful!! I am a single mom and have been struggling to get out of debt and now i finally can thanks to BDO!

My whole experience with BDO was…terrible!

My whole experience with BDO was terrible after I signed with them. No help or clarification with questions due to them never returning my phone calls or emails. I was told the person I first singed with was busy and I was asked to contact some one else. My contact person switched around a couple times. Towards the end I verified with the company the math month to month so I could become automatically discharged. Again the communication stopped on their side. In the end I was to be done in July, I wasn’t discharged until end of August and then they did not finalize with the judge intel december. Every time I enquired I was told they were busy and or the person I needed to talk to was away. Right before Christmas I finally go my final paperwork...not timely at all.

I found BDO to be trustworthy and helpful in my recent need for them, They recognised my problems both physical and monetary and helped me accept their decisions to help me solve the financial problem. At no time was I harped at or critisise for my efforts.

Very Professional and helpful

We received a lot of help, information and support from our Truatee.

We can’t say enough about how hard the decision was but due to the support we received this life changing event was made easier.

Very hard to get ahold of them

Very hard to get ahold of them. I had to leave several messages via phone and email to get someone to respond. Also, the whole process I experienced with them was very rushed and felt that I was a bit misinformed.

Take more time for your clients

For the most part it was a decent experience.
It was hard to get a hold of anyone via phone or email when you had questions or concern about your bankruptcy. I felt I was just a number on their lists. My concerns were not taken seriously and were always put to the side. When I did get a response, it was a rushed conversation and my questions were not 100% answered. It always felt like they had better things to be doing rather than explaining policies and procedures to a client who is feeling overwhelmed and concerned. Once the bankruptcy was coming to a close, the admin staff was very supportive and were even happy for me that the long process was over. I was surprised however I did not receive a phone call from the trustee himself or his "assistant" congratulating me on completing the long journey. They did not offer tools, insight, or advice on how to move forward from the bankruptcy. I believe both of them have forgotten their clients are new to this process and we are very unsure about the rules and regulations, they need to slow down and reconnect with their clients. Filing bankruptcy is humiliating and embarrassing, they should be more sympathetic to certain situations brought to them. Certain situations in life bring you to a point where you cant keep your head above water (eg divorce etc), filing bankruptcy is not in anyone's "life plan" and they need to remember this.

Wonderful experience

Awesome experience straight from the get go. It was s stressful time for me but my counsellor Michelle was professional but also compassionate of my situation. The whole BDO team were wonderful. Thanks for again!

Investigate BDO or close them down!!!

Ignorant, arrogant and could care less about you attitude. When I asked about finalizing and closing out my account 4 months after my discharge, I was told it could up to a year. I asked why a year and was sarcastically told, we'll how long did your bankruptcy take. It is grossly apparent that this company has far too many clients to be properly serviced and shold be investigated by the Superintendent of Bankruptcy! Thank you.

Got bounced around between contact…

Got bounced around between contact people continuously. Very difficult to get anyone on the phone and email responses were very slow. I had to email 4 different people three times to get them to stop contacting my ex wife to get information after they were provided with all of my contact info.

Not enough communication

Not enough communication! Only a few of my emails and only half of my vm messages were ever responded to (and I was NOT a nuisance or bothersome client and was always respectful!). I was never contacted before or after each major step over the 3 year period, so any mail I received was utterly confusing and usually devastated me. I always had to follow up for further information, then wait sometimes days to get a response, if any!

Horrible

BDO recommended an extension of my bankruptcy for surplus income. When I challenged them I was told by the admin "I've been doing this for 20 years I know what I'm doing!" Well as it turns out they didn't their data entry person entered in the wrong data and added $900 of income each month! Avoid BDO if you can and if you can't make sure you know your stuff.
