An app to avoid
The Dancebit app should be avoided at all costs. I responded to what I thought was a one-time offer of $20 for the app. I received a receipt for the $20, and assumed all was well. What I failed to do was scroll down on what they call the "receipt page." At the very bottom of the page is a notice that, after the first month, I would be billed $64.98 a month. This is a ludicrous amount to charge a customer for any exercise app. I got terribly busy at the end of the summer and, in fact, didn't even have time to create an account, so I never used the app. But I finally checked the account they are billing, and found out that they have already billed me the $20, and then 3 more times since for $64.98 each month (??). This is a shocking and cynical exploitation of customers, many of whom would never guess that the receipt "page" had a whole section threatening to charge an unbelievable monthly subscription fee. Unless you scroll down from the receipt, you wouldn't know there was more to the email and there's nothing on the receipt to indicate what's really going to happen. I didn't authorize the payments that were taken out, and I was not alerted via email, as I am with all other reputable subscriptions I have. To make matters much worse, when I realized what was actually happening, I found I couldn't log in to create an account and cancel my subscription. I kept getting a landing page with no option for logging in. It took me several hours to find a way in to the website, set up an account, and cancel this nightmare of a subscription. Moreover, it's no good trying to plead your case with a company that does everything via AI email responses--just a sunny reply telling you that it won't be possible to refund you the money they have stolen from you. Have a nice day! This is criminal and should result in a class-action lawsuit. Mind you, subscriptions to most good magazines cost less than $100 a YEAR. So, Dance-bit is an example of extreme exploitation and predatory capitalism. Unless you have a lot of disposable income, I suggest avoiding this unscrupulous app like the plague. Oh, and now they seem to have a free app, after stealing no doubt thousands from unwitting customers. Truly alarming. Please report them to the BBB.

Beware!
Beware!
I signed up for what I believed was a one-time offer from Dancebit. What I didn’t realize was that I was being subscribed to a recurring monthly plan. Over the next three months, I was charged a total of around $160 USD — for a service I never used, never accessed, and honestly didn’t even know I was subscribed to.
There were no email reminders or notices of renewal, and to make things more confusing, the company name showing up on my bank statement was “Wilmington”, which gave me no clue it was Dancebit. I cancelled my creditcard to stop the payments. By the time I figured out what was happening, I had been charged multiple times for something I didn’t want, didn’t use, and didn’t benefit from.
When I discovered the charges and contacted customer support, I explained the situation openly and honestly, expecting a fair resolution. While the team was responsive and polite, they repeatedly refused to refund more than the last month — even though I never used the product at all. Their response? “Terms of Use.”
They kept referring to their legal fine print and closed billing periods, rather than acknowledging that I never benefited from the service.
A decent company recognizes when a customer made an honest error, especially when no service was ever used, and works to make things right. Dancebit chose not to.
Bottom line:
If you're considering signing up for Dancebit, be very careful. Read every small line. Double-check if you're entering a subscription. Because once you're in — even if you never use the service — they’ll keep your money, no matter how reasonable your request may be.
Can get the same free of charge
Can get the same free of charge, customer service is a joke. Save your money!!!
DanceBit is a scam
DanceBit is a scam. It says "Now it is FREE" Then you go through the fake process of questions to the end where you see the costs, then they throw in auto renewal at a HIGH PRICE!!!! Don't do it! IT IS A SCAM!
Unfair charges
nearby I would like to file a complaint regarding unauthorized charges for the Dance Bit app. In May 2025, I purchased a trial period for 99 PLN, but I have noticed that I have been charged 533 PLN monthly since then, even though I deleted the app before the trial period ended. For the three months Dance-bit have charged me over 1700 pln, which is very high unacceptable amount of money and they were charged unfairly.
SCAMMERS AVOID STEAL MONEY FROM YOU YOU DID NOT AUTHORISE
I joined and paid for the one month and one month only..somone called ame and tried to hard sell me more I flatly refused and clearly stated all I wanted was the month i had paid for and no more...today they have taken a payment I did not authorise for £47..39 only way to contact is email and FB from reviews here they will not be forthcoming giving my money back.
They charged me back in 2023 and I…
They charged me back in 2023 and I cancelled membership and then started charging me again in 2024 for 6 months until I noticed. Charged me random amounts. This app is fraudulent! Do not sign up even for trial! Also when I messaged them and told them spoke to an Andrea and said they won’t be refunding me! That I should enjoy the app that’s not even downloaded on my phone. Total fraud!!
False Advertising
Dancebit advertised themselves to me as a way to get fit with ballet. The ad even had a picture of pointe shoes. There was absolutely no ballet dancing, so I was disappointed. But I tried it anyway and completed their 28 Day challenge. Despite sending multiple screenshots from their app to prove I danced every day, their customer service just said nope and refused to provide the reward. I asked them to explain why their app shows that I did complete the program, but they chose not to communicate with me. I did not feel the workouts were helpful in reaching my goals. Everything about this company is false advertising. I cancelled my subscription before I even finished the introductory three months
SCAM WARNING
Avoid DanceBit at all costs. This app has intentionally misleading billing practices. I was charged a total of £367 over 4 months — including several £104.22 payments — without clear consent, warnings, or any transparency about what I was signing up for.
They started with small charges (£9.47, £18.95), then escalated to massive monthly deductions. At no point was I told I was being moved to a premium tier. Only after I cancelled did they offer me the exact same plan for £94 for SIX months, proving how inflated the pricing was.
They refunded just one payment and refused to return the rest — despite clear proof, a timeline of charges, and a completely inconsistent payment history. Their support responses are scripted, evasive, and rely on vague “you agreed to it” defences. I never knowingly agreed to pay £104 a month.
I’ve submitted a chargeback and will be reporting them to Trading Standards. I strongly advise anyone who’s ever downloaded this app to check their bank statements — you may have been charged without even realising.
This isn’t poor service — it’s predatory. What they’re doing is unethical, manipulative, and potentially illegal.
Absolute joke
Absolute joke - signed up for a single month and they’ve now put me on a premium subscription for £94 a month without my consent - now trying to say they will not refund. Stay far away from this fraudulent company.
Unfortunately it was impossible for me…
Unfortunately it was impossible for me to successfully participate in the dance routines, due to bad knees.
I have tried to cancel my subscription via Apple Appstore and via Dancebit website. It was impossible to (find a way to) cancel via the AppStore or website. I had already removed the Dancebit app, I was not using it. I honestly forgot about the existence of the app (and subscription.. I know, my bad).
However: with the trialperiod there was not a mention of a renewal. Otherwise I would have put it in my agenda, like always when I want to unsubscribe.
Today I was billed for 3 more months subscription. I was triggered, because there was a renewal but I could not find a way to unsubscribe.
Eventually I had to download the app again, and there I could manage my subscription. Too late, because Dancebit does not refund. Even if you can prove you are not using the app (and have not been using it for the uttermost of the subscription period).
68 euro’s down the drain. I had hoped and expected some leniency from Dancebit..
SCAM how are they allowed to get away…
SCAM how are they allowed to get away with it I paid what I thought was a one off payment for a month. They have then been taking £94.45 from PayPal. I'm furious. I just hope PayPal can help but looks like they haven't help other people. If I don't get any joy I will close the account with PayPal too
Absolutely and completely a fraud
Absolutely and completely a fraud - don’t go anywhere near this company! I am out a LOT of money even though I never actually wanted to subscribe, and their customer service did nothing and won’t refund the money even though we spoke with them by phone and by email. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE - as a matter of fact, as of now I will leave multiple negative reviews on as many platforms as I can, will contact authorities, and will tell friends to stay clear of this company. Not that they care, but I’m deeply disappointed in a company that would take advantage of people in this way; clearly I’m not alone in this experience. Stay clear of them!
FRAUD
In their ad, they make it seem like you’ll have access to a wide variety of classes. But once you sign up, you're only assigned a few workouts, and it's frustratingly difficult to figure out how to access any others. I ended up spending a lot of time just trying to find the classes I wanted.
I canceled after two weeks, but they still charged my card nearly $160. Their customer service ignored my request for refund.
Dancebit - A Deceptive and Disturbing Experience
A Deceptive and Disturbing Experience - Consumers Beware of Dancebit
My experience with this company has been deeply troubling. I signed up for what was advertised as a $20 fitness app and canceled within four days via email to their support team. Despite this, the company charged my PayPal account $325 over the following six months. On reaching out the second time, I received written confirmation from their official support email (support@dancebit) stating that my subscription had been cancelled!
When I discovered the unauthorized charges and filed a complaint with PayPal -submitting evidence of my original cancellation-the funds were "provisionally credited." However, shortly thereafter, I received a series of phishing emails, which only ceased once the company managed to fabricate records and have PayPal reverse its initial decision. This behavior appeared both vindictive and manipulative.
I find it deeply disappointing that PayPal sided with the vendor, despite having clear documentation from me and refusing to share any communication they had with the company. I have since closed my PayPal account and reported this matter to the State Attorney General, urging a formal investigation. I’ve also informed Apple to review the app’s compliance.
I encourage others who have faced similar issues to file official complaints - only collective action will help curb such unlawful practices in the online world.
I would NOT recommend anyone to join…
I would NOT recommend anyone to join this it is a SCAM. I paid £6.62 for 1 week then they have taken £106.74 from my PayPal. I also never signed up for anything. Now fighting for a refund 😡

I did the 'trial' period and didnt realise that I would have to cancel. I had not agreed to any subscription other than the trial. Or so I thought. Today I got notified that they had tried to take £104.22 from my account. I bank with Chase and luckily they notify when a payment is pending so I was able to cancel. I sent a message and they have refunded me the full amount. For info Dancebit is owned by Gismart Limited based in London, MIHAYLOVA, Snejanka Atanassova
