Crane installed a garden shed / workshop with verandah for me around 16 years ago. The building was still in excellent order unfortunately the concrete base that I had originally installed through another company had fail and compromised my shed that was getting damp. The Crane team came out a fully assessed the issues. I decided to bite the bullet and have the building refurbished and a new base put in by Crane this time. This involved dismantling the building and taking it away for refurbishment, installing the new base, re-erecting the building. The service has been excellent at every stage and follow up customer care second to none. I have every confidence in recommending Crane. A garden shed, workshop, summer house is a significant investment and if you want it completed to perfection Crane is the company. I only wish I had got them to install my original base.

I purchased a new £30k summer house from Crane. Absolutely love it!

However, after 7 years of use, there appeared to be 'wood rot' forming on the bottom panel of one of the 2 doors..
2 years on, the bottom panel is now totally rotted and disintergrating!

Spoke to Crane and asked to claim under the 10 year warranty they proudly advertise. Crane pointed out that my 'Cley Summerhouse', (thats still being made and available for purchase today,) only came with a 2 year warranty.

Crane refuse to help me, but have offered to replace the door for just under £2000!!! The "Cley" has 2 doors, one has rotted and the other is as new! Is the door "Fit For Purpose"?

Over the years, Ive had several £1000 sheds that have had doors that lasted far more than 7 years!!!!

I feel I have been scammed by a scam company!! DONT BUY A CRANE GARDEN BUILDING...........

NB: Yes readers, do read Crane reply to my experience as above... They have indeed offered to repair the rotted door! at a cost of £2000 !!!!

Crane have only observed a couple of photos of the rotten door.. Blaming the concrete step, for rain/water splashing, thats caused the rot,, However, the adjacent door is 100% good, SO why didnt this door rot at the same time!!

A timber consultant has viewed the rot, and pointed out, that after the door was cut/shaved, during installation/assembly, Good practice is to seal/paint to protect it from the elements! The consultant pointed out that the surface below my doors are bare wood..
Crane are also suggesting that no Crane building must be installed beside a concrete/paved surface or Patio,, Make your own minds up people! Rain or no rain, would you expect a £30k Wooden building to last 5 years before rot sets in??
