Charlotte Smith was fantastic
Charlotte Smith was fantastic! I've purchased many premium cars over the years and mainly via the dealership. It's never felt like a 'special' occasion or particularly personal. Charlotte introduced herself to my children and gave them colouring pens to create her some wall art. She kindly sent me an email with the art on her wall which was such a lovely touch. The Range Rover Sport is sublime and I'm very happy. Ideally my next car would be purchased via Charlotte which could be as soon as next year.
A very disappointing experience.
A very disappointing experience.
I booked it for a MOT where on collecting the "health check" reported wear on the rear tryes recommending a 4 wheel alignment.
The tyres where the wear was reported had driven around 60 miles after replacements for the MOT, the old tyres had worn equally to the depth indicators so definitely no rear tracking issues!
I raised my concerns to spend an hour waiting for the "health check" to be repeated at another date and surprisingly three of the tyres that initially recieved an amber warning were now green.
It definitely reminded me of the old times with garages exaggerating reports to gain work where on this occasion it was entirely fictional.
Oh and not even an apology given....
Claire C was excellent
Claire C was very helpful and supportive after a little issue was noted following a recent visit & service, great communications, feedback and actions resolved the issue and now sorted.
Thank You Claire
Substandard vehicle prep, broken promises, and shocking "bait-and-switch" tactics from management
I purchased an approved used 2024 BMW 520i from Cotswold Cheltenham BMW on the 16th of March, 2026 expecting the premium service associated with an authorized main dealer. Instead, I was subjected to appalling vehicle preparation, immense stress, and manipulative sales tactics that ultimately impacted my mental well-being.
The Purchase & Initial Defects:
During the viewing with salesperson Zaid Parekh, I pointed out a minor scratch on the passenger side of the dashboard and small stone chips on the front bumper. While he refused to adjust the purchase price, Zaid explicitly promised that their team would rectify both cosmetic issues while I completed the paperwork.
The moment the payment was transferred, his demeanor completely flipped. When I asked about purchasing an extended cosmetic or alloy package (standard add-ons I always buy for high-end vehicles), his response was incredibly rude: "Customers don't usually ask again when we tell them that we do not offer any cosmetics or alloy package." I felt like walking away there and then, but the funds had already been transferred.
The "Fix" That Ruined the Interior:
When the car was handed over, the bumper touch-ups hadn't even been touched. Worse, the dashboard was a total mess. The prep team had lazily smeared GuardX polish across half the dashboard, leaving a heavy, patchy residue. Zaid dismissed it, assuring me it would "just rub off tomorrow" and promised to post a Brooklyn Grey touch-up paint stick to my home since they didn't have it in stock. I trusted him because this was an approved dealership.
By the next morning, the dashboard looked significantly worse. I contacted Sales Controller Chris Wakefield and sent photos. To his credit, Chris immediately agreed this was completely below BMW-approved standards. BMW Customer Support also intervened.
Under pressure from myself and BMW UK, Cotswold agreed to take the car back to have their "expert" fix it. They provided a 3 Series courtesy car, promising a 2-day turnaround. It took 5 days. When my 5 Series was returned via a delivery driver, even the driver openly admitted to me that half the dashboard now looked completely dry, grainy, and mismatched compared to the rest. A minor scratch had been turned into a massive, permanent eyesore. Furthermore, despite returning their courtesy car spotless, Cotswold returned my car unwashed and filthy, later claiming they "didn't want to touch anything else."
The Management U-Turn:
I took the car to another independent, authorized BMW dealership for an objective inspection. They stated the botched repair could not be blended and the only true remedy was a full dashboard replacement, quoting £2,500.
When I passed this quote to Chris Wakefield, he rejected it, stating it would be a "loss for the dealership." Instead, Chris proposed a clean solution: they would buy the car back, refunding exactly what I paid minus my fuel cost. I agreed.
However, after consulting his upper management, Chris pulled a shocking U-turn. He called back to retract the offer, stating that because it was "just a cosmetic issue," they would now only buy it back at current market trade price. Expecting a customer to take a massive financial hit because the dealership's own team permanently ruined the interior is deceptive and unethical.
Conclusion:
This back-and-forth dragged on for a couple of months. Because I have a demanding job and a family, the constant games and avoidance tactics from Cotswold's sales management began severely impacting my mental health. I eventually had to capitulate and keep the car just to end the nightmare.
To add final insult to injury, when I called Zaid Parekh to ask for the simple paint stick he had promised, he hid behind corporate policy, saying "it wasn't written in the contract."
Cotswold Cheltenham BMW used exhausting delay tactics until I was too drained to fight them. They ruined a premium vehicle, went back on their management-level financial agreements, and failed on the simplest verbal promises. Avoid this dealership at all costs.
What an amazing experience we have had

After visiting BMW Cheltenham enquiry…
After visiting BMW Cheltenham enquiry to trade my 2022 with full BMW service 39000 on clock BMW 40i for a used BMW 50i I was only offered £35000 for mine but after visiting another BMW dealership I was offered £40500
As I left the dealership their sales manager asked about my experience then I explained why was there over £5000 difference in valuation compared to another BMW Dealership his reply was maybe they had a buyer for my car
Totally unacceptable £5500 less valuation compared to another BMW dealership
They manufacture extra problems.
They want your MONEY! Nice as pie. After sales service dreadful and like others have said on here 100% they keep manufacturing problems with your old BMW with high pressure tactics to force you to buy another NEW BMW from them when there is nothing wrong with yours. There MOT Service will also find everything wrong it and more! They have HUGE overheads they look for problems where there are none! Very unethical practise. I reported them to Trading Standards.
Just been speaking with the DVLA
Just been speaking with the DVLA regarding a refund of road tax due but unfortunately Hereford bmw didn’t notify the dvla on the day I sold them the car. They actually notified them in January so I lost my refund. I’m so glad I won’t be buying from them again their customer service is appalling!! You can’t trust this dealership for doing things in time . They should have notified the dvla on the day of sale like all other dealerships do. Truly shocking!!
I’ve how raised this with bmw uk ! No response from BMW uk. Customer service so it’s been referred to the motoring ombudsman!
Today10/3/26 bmw Hereford have offered to reimburse me the refund of road fund licence provided a do a 160 miles round trip andthey will refund me in petrol what a joke !
It will cost me more to travel there ! A day out ! over 160 miles ! wear and tear ! Food ! My time !
If they want to reimburse me for all that they better have a tanker full of petrol available!!
PLEASE AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS !!
Just written a letter to the Hereford Times. Hope it’s published
Portimao Blue BMW 330e
I purchased a Portimao Blue BMW 330e xDrive from BMW Cotswolds Hereford after several weeks of back and forth before agreeing a deal.
Unfortunately, shortly after collection it became clear the vehicle had not been prepared to an acceptable standard. The car was missing two front parking sensor caps, the paintwork was heavily marked with swirl marks across multiple panels and one tyre showed noticeably lower and uneven tread compared to the others (4mm 3mm 4mm) which were close to new. That tyre subsequently failed shortly after purchase, raising concerns about the pre-delivery inspection. I was told that the tyre was perfectly fine when purchasing this car aswell. Even though there was a picture of the wheel online with visable sidewall damage.
Despite raising these issues promptly, communication with the dealership was poor and resolving the problems became unnecessarily drawn out. Eventually, after escalating the matter to BMW UK, the dealer collected the vehicle (a round trip of approximately 150 miles) and provided a courtesy car.
While the missing parking sensors were rectified, the swirl marks were not addressed at all, which is disappointing given the vehicle was sold as a BMW Approved Used car. In addition, despite being told fuel would be added following the collection and return, no fuel reimbursement or gesture was provided. There was also no courtesy call to advise that the vehicle had been completed and was on its way back, which added further inconvenience.
Overall, the experience felt disorganised and fell well below the standard I would expect from a BMW main dealer. Having previously purchased multiple vehicles from other main dealers, this has been by far the poorest aftersales experience I’ve had.
Based on this experience, I would think very carefully before purchasing from BMW Cotswolds Hereford.
My car got recalled in to be fixed so…
My car got recalled in to be fixed so took it to Cheltenham bmw and it came back all my black alloys have been damaged where they put it up on a ramp to do a car check I didn’t ask for told me all these things needed doing costing ridiculous amounts so my mechanic came over found a fault in a second which is going to cost me £40 I did really laugh other wise if I had paid what they wanted I would have cried 🤦♀️ so now I have to pay for all
My alloys to be done after just having them refurbished I will never ever take my car to bmw Cheltenham again but didn’t have a choice when it was recalled because of there fault other wise never again lesson learnt
Never again, such an amateurish outfit.
Purchased a used car from the Cotswold group. Picked it up and started to drive home. It became immediately apparent that the car was pulling to the left. Called in at Strensham services to check tyre pressures. 24 psi both nearside tyres and 22 psi rear offside. Also noticed the engine management light on. Long story cut short. They didn’t complete a pre delivery inspection and allowed a car to leave in a highly dangerous state. Returned the car to have the tracking fixed and the engine management light sorted. Two weeks later the car wasn’t repaired. I rejected the car and returned it to the Cotswold group. What an awful experience.
Life in the slow lane
Booked the car in for a 2:30 MOT at BMW Cheltenham Arrived 40mins before the due time.
Finally left BMW land at 5:00
Will not be using their fast lane service again for an MOT and will be getting my next MOT done by my local tester.
Lovely car (520i) but completely misled…
Lovely car (520i) but completely misled / lied to on service schedule despite emailing and face to face questioning prior and after collection - they told me first service due 2028 but found out from another dealership it needed minor service 2026 and brake fluid in 2027. When questioned they assured me it did not need those as on a 2 yr schedule
Got the car and it tells me I need 2026 and 2027 items
Not only that but it had recalls on the car which had not been done prior to collecting and no pack/ warranty for ceramic coating
I feel completely let down. Their senior sales manager has admitted the sales man got his facts wrong and now I am left feeling lied to and apart from them offering to do the 2026 service a year early it doesn’t help as I would have negotiated a service plan
Very dishonest in my opinion
Excellent service
Cotswold Motorrad staff were all extremely helpful, knowledgable and friendly. I ordered a jacket online and phoned to collect from the store.
Faulty car, still unresolved, so not use!
My husband treated himself to a new car from here for his 40th birthday.
He absolutely loved it! It was his pride and joy.
Within 8 months it went faulty. It went into park when he tried to set off. It did this at random times which is almost worse as it meant that he was stranded on several occasions and never knew when it was going to happen next (he even managed to video the fault happening).
It was within warranty so BMW tried to fix it. They couldn’t find a fault, so he took the car back. This happened several times and still no joy in finding the fault and several trips back and forth from BMW Hereford (50 mile round trip) to try to get this resolved. The final straw came when he left the garage for the 3rd time and it went into neutral at a roundabout almost causing an accident!
At this point my husband and I no longer felt safe using the car, especially with 2 young children.
To say this has been stressful is an understatement!!!!!
This has been going in since Oct and now BMW have said they will not offer a full refund for the car. Instead they keep trying to upsell him a new one, offering him a reduced price for his! They said they can’t offer a full refund as there is no error code! Is video evidence of this happening not enough?!
This is not acceptable and bordering on immoral! My husband works 2 jobs and this is now impacting his mental health! I am so upset to see him like this. 😢😢
He has been nothing but polite to the team at BMW and it is getting him nowhere.
I am furious 😡
I purchased a used car with 4000 miles…
I purchased a used car with 4000 miles on it Saturday . This company quote 5 star service and satisfaction in all departments!! You have got to be joking mr MD . This vehicle wasn’t up to anywhere near acceptable standards the MD said if you take 1 step back from car you will not see the stone chips 😂. They said this was acceptable Be careful buying of this dealership they clearly don’t care . I have since been given a full refund which I paid upfront expecting a nicely presented car ..
I have had the worst experience at…
I have had the worst experience at Cotswold BMW. After spending over £3,500 on a repair, the vehicle was returned to me filthy. it stank inside and some of the work I was charged for was not completed and I was also charged for items which were being picked up by BMW (UK) I was quoted 2.5x the cost of a new tyre, even though when I took it to the one of the counties largest tyre companies they confirmed it was OK and did not require replacing. Also I was told that the tracking could not be done because of ceased track rod ends and I needed new ones. again contradicted by another garage who were able to free up the rod ends and correctly track my vehicle.
Compete lack of confidence in this dealership. I was told by the service manager that I shouls take my business elsewhere, so I have bought a new 4 series from Sytner the same say. The difference is service levels was chalk and cheese.
BMW Cotswold Cheltenham…
Just bought 4 series M Sport Convertible ex demo beautiful car, this was an easy sale for them a quickish conversation and a deposit paid no part ex so an easy sale. I felt once they had my deposit the communication was slow especially at replying. I appreciated being picked up from the station, but I was only in the garage 10 mins at most keys handed over no showing me how things work etc, I had to ask and it was only then the sales guy offered….. I was asked to send a whatsapp asking for the original advert so I knew all the extras on the car which I did and still over 2 weeks later the salesman has never even opened the message, quite disappointing really. I just felt communication and aftersales could be better once they have had a deposit and your money no interest. I have always received an after sales call from other main dealers asking if I am happy with the car and any questions nothing from these guys hence only the 3 stars shame really as it will stop me going back . I like to feel a valued customer before and after sale which on this occasion I didnt .
I have been a loyal customer of BMW…
I have been a loyal customer of BMW Hereford, having purchased multiple vehicles from them. While the sales process is always smooth, the aftercare is consistently appalling. They seem far more interested in making money and earning commission than in looking after their customers.
My most recent experience was with the purchase of a BMW 330e. Soon after buying it, I identified several faults and contacted the salesman, Scott Coxshall, who sold me the car. Once I informed him of the issues, he went silent and stopped responding. I then had to escalate matters to his manager, Robert Warren. This was equally frustrating — during a call where I outlined the problems, he interrupted me, cut me off mid-sentence, and dismissively asked, “So what do you want to do about it?” I was shocked and offended. After over 10 years in the business, is this really how he thinks customers should be treated? Or does he only speak to certain customers this way?
I then took my concerns to the Head of Business, Peter Redfern. As expected, he washed his hands of the situation and passed me on to the General Sales Manager, Luke Champ. Unfortunately, he was also unhelpful. I requested to reject the car, but my request was denied. They kept insisting on “investigating the faults” — despite me explaining there were no active faults at the time, but that the car was not fit for purpose.
With no meaningful resolution offered, I had no choice but to sell the car at a loss. This entire experience has been both costly and deeply disappointing.
I strongly advise anyone considering BMW Hereford to think twice before purchasing from them. The sales team will welcome you with open arms, but once they have your money, the aftercare is non-existent.
Shocking, avoid like the plague.
After sales service is absolutely shocking. Bought a car in May which had issues straight away. 3 visits later and issue still not fixed, service manager had no idea what he was doing. Technical knowledge non existent and constant chasing from my end to get it sorted. Returned the car still faulty and showed no interest in resolving. Thankfully the approved used warranty is valid at any BMW dealership so I’ve taken it to Swindon DickLovett who have been infinitely better and more professional. Avoid Cotswolds BMW at all costs, they haven’t got a clue and customer service is abysmal.
