Wrong Address Again

Wrong Address Again
I moved address over a year now and did update my new address. I had bought a Batman set, Car and boat version. It was sent to my old address, what happened to it I'll never know. So Corgi club sent another replacement to my new address. I got the replacement and it was great. I had left the club partly because of this as I was getting asked daft questions. I'll not go into it. So I'm thinking all sorted now no more hassle. If I fancy any other models there's always someone selling on eBay and so on. So sometime later I seen the James Bond Platinum version (I still get the emails) I thought that's nice. So I ordered one, now as said earlier I've been in my new home for over a year. Yep I get an email, it's been sent to my old address. I'm getting one sent to my new address however how has this happened again. I sent them a picture of the Batmobile set with my new address, which they sent to. How has this happened again. Is it a case of one department didn't tell the other, surely it's updated on all systems. I had every model from the beginning before came out the Corgi Club. I just got fed up with it.

I just want my money back now, lost all confidence in this club now. It's been over a week now from when they said the model is now sent to my new address that I've been in for a year. Furious now 😡

I buy the odd one whenever I please

I used to get one of these models every month, I never experienced anything but top customer service and top quality models - some of which I'm able to compare very favourably side by side with the originals.
I no longer receive one a month, as my collection was getting too large - but I do keep an eye on the lists and pick and choose my next models..
Highly recommended.

Very disappointing latest edtion of the James Bond Aston Martin DB5.

I bought the 70th Anniversary Edition of the Corgi James Bond Aston Martin DB5. This model is a third smaller than the original Bond Aston Martin by Corgi, and very inferior to it. The ejector seat has a very weak spring - not powerful enough to eject the passenger. This model is not nearly as good as Corgi's original Bond Aston Martin, in every way. This is sharp practice: the customer is paying more and getting less: an overpriced very inferior model.

Our 70th Anniversary Edition of the Corgi James Bond Aston Martin DB5 is an accurate and true to scale Corgi Model Club edition of our famous 1965 Corgi 261 James Bond DB5 (the one in gold). It uses the same tooling as the Corgi 261 in our Corgi Model Club collection. We are more than willing to accept criticism of any model we produce but to write a 'review' based on things that are not true goes beyond the pale. "This model is a third smaller" ... there is ZERO basis for this comment as the model is 100% the same size/scale as our original 1965 model. We welcome any further dialogue. Very disappointed

Very disappointed - I placed an order for 6 Corgi Models with the Corgi Model Club on June 29th 2026 totalling over £200. 3 of the models had serious defects. The main culprit was a damaged Chitty Chitty Bang Bang model which had the following issues :1)Fender is missing some of its silver paint 2)Front headlights are misaligned & very wonky & they can't be adjusted. Part of the order was a Green Hornet model which had the following issues : 1)The front engine grille that should spring open to release the missile only half opens until extra pressure ie a finger nail or cocktail stick prises it open & 2)the rear boot when opened should shoot out the radar scanner but unfortunately the scanner just sits there. The other problem model was a James Bond Aston Martin which had one of the tyres made too 'baggy' for the wheel. I wrote to Corgi explaining that I could live with the Bond issue & if necessary even the Hornet model but could I return at least the Chitty for a replacement as I still wanted the model but in good order. I included detailed photos of all 3 models for them to view. I was shocked when I received a very terse reply from Corgi Customer Service telling me that I would need to send the model(s) back at my own expense & they would then examine them for defects & return postage would later be refunded (the implication was the refund/replacement would only be forthcoming if they felt the defects were warranted once they examined them!) No mention was made of replacing the models. So I wrote to them again asking if I would get a replacement model if returned. I was told yes but again no assurance how or when or even what their criteria would be for a refund or what the 'examination' process was. I was left feeling very unsure & unconfident what exactly would happen. Considering I had paid over £200 for this order, I felt a simple returns/replacement process guaranteeing me a replacement model once returned would have been fair & expected. Instead the whole process was left very vague & ill-defined & no guarantees were given what would happen or when or what their criteria would be for a replacement. Consequently, I ended up keeping all 6 models but I immediately cancelled my Corgi membership & unfortunately I won't be buying any more. It is a shame as I have a great love for these models & if they could fix their customer service to include things which are standard these days like hassle-free returns for items they have sent out damaged then that would be great. Unfortunately, this is really important & it certainly has sapped my customer confidence in them as a company.

Beware of the Corgi Model Club - not part of Corgi!

Beware model collectors - the Corgi Model Club is a totally separate company and even though they appear on the @Corgi website, they are NOT part of Corgi!
I ordered a James Bond (Goldfinger) Aston Martin only to discover that the ejector seat mechanism did not operate correctly and only occasionally sent the 'bad guy' out through the roof - there was also some missing number plate stickers. It was only when I contacted Corgi that I discovered that the Corgi Model Club was in no way associated to them. I then contacted the Corgi Model Club & found their customer service representative to be dismissive, doubting the integrity of my complaint & unhelpful about the next steps. As a consequence I arranged for the model to be returned to them (at my expense), requesting they cancel my membership, refund me for the model, the original postage plus the cost of returning the faulty model. Today, I received two separate notifications of a refund for the car & the original postage, but NOT the return postage cost as per our Consumer Rights Act or any form of apology about their faulty product or missing items. My overall experience has been extremely poor, not even reaching the one star I am obliged to score them. If I cannot purchase direct from Corgi, then I will not bother. I write this review to save other potential customers joining the Corgi Model Club, 1, believing they are actually part of Corgi, and 2, their reaction to their faulty goods.

Thanks for the review – despite it not being positive as you raise a good point, that we have immediately actioned – ie what the High Value form is for. We had a look at the email you were sent and it didn't explain the reasons for the form, which is to help us avoid potential fraudulent activity when we receive orders of a high value (triggered by it being your very first order). It isn't anything to do with your payment, which you're quite right, we'd received from you some time ago. A shame that you didn't reply with the completed form after you were sent the email (and a follow up you were sent) because you would have received the models from the batch due into our warehouse this month (July as promised). The October batch is for those who missed the July batch and those who order now. It sounds as if the automated email system sent you that October delivery message. This isn't related to your previous order – but all a bit convoluted we admit and definitely something we can (and will) improve on. We can confirm that your refund request was received and will be actioned. //// We urge anyone who has any ordering issues to contact our customer services team to sort the problem out. It can usually be solved straight away – as would have been the case here. //// Thanks again for raising these issues. Customer interaction and feedback is essential to us and highly valued.

Boring cars at an expensive price

Ive been a member of the corgie model club for some time but ive now decided to cancel my subscription...I find the cars they try send you are the same old thing really boring hardly anything new and why dont you make some lorry's or vans theres so many nice lorry's you could make. I was so excited to join but now its just a disappointment and to be honest the amount they charge nearly £40 plus postage for something that is made in China is an absolute rip off. I cant wait to read the rude patronising reply from corgie has anyone else noticed how defensive and rude they are in there responses.. ps there's far better hotwheels cars in aldi

The reason we don't do lorries or larger vehicles is because they cost more to produce... which would increase the monthly model cost, which is something we don't want to do. It's for that reason we did the Ecurie Ecosse car transporter at the beginning of the year / to test its popularity at the higher cost. The majority of the feedback we received was for us to do the occasional larger model but keep to the more affordable price point for typical 60s-era car etc.

Interestingly, Corgi produced relatively few larger models during the 1960s (which as you know is the period we cover) so for most of our customers it isn't a big issue that we concentrate on cars and smaller vehicles. However, your comments have been noted.

Not quite sure what China has got to do with this. The Chinese, if we can let geopolitics aside for the moment, make some of the very best die-cast models in the world – which is why we here at Corgi use the factories over there. Quality is of paramount importance to us.

Hot Wheels are of course a VERY different proposition to 1960s-era Corgi Toys. Chalk and cheese... with each having their fans. We love Hot Wheels too!

Lastly, we're not sure why you were paying £40 plus postage for our models. Club membership is currently at £24.99 + P&P. If you've been paying £40 as a member, please get in touch with customer services immediately and they will look into this for you and if necessary issue you with a refund. They will have your membership orders / models on record, simply give them your details and they can take it from there.

Fed up with the excuses

I don't have an issue with the quality of the product, the models are always very good.

However, the customer service is AWFUL, and I'm really annoyed with the number of delays in availability of the models for club members, and the pathetic excuses given for the delays.

The latest one is the Heinkel Bubble Car.

With the funds having been taken from my bank account, on February 15th I received an email saying that the product was "ready to be shipped"

I then received an email on February 16th saying that "due to some minor teething issues" the model had been delayed, but would be despatched this week (w/c February 23rd). This message also contradicted the one I received on the 15th, as the model obviously wasn't ready to be shipped.

This is the umpteenth time the model has been late, with the usual "excuse" being that there have been delays in getting product from China

As a consultant in supply chain, I know all about the potential of these delays, as I deal with many businesses in China myself. However, there are ways of making sure that you aren't affected by these delays, and I have had this discussion with the model club on a number of occasions.

On February 16th, being disappointed with another failure, I sent an email to the model club, asking a number of questions. As of today, February 25th, I have not received a response to this email.

I have just called the company to find out what has happened to the model which I was supposed to have been receiving this week.

The lady answering the phone gave me the response that the model was expected into their warehouse this week and would be shipped as soon as possible. This contradicts the details in the email of February 16th.

When I queried the delay (again), I got the usual thing you get from customer services people these days when you express disappointment about something as "they don't like the way they are being spoken to".

I wasn't rude, or anything. All I was doing was asking a question, and not getting a realistic response. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that one could be asked to call me back. As I hadn't received a response to my email, was this going to happen?

The next thing to happen was this person (I have her name, but I think you aren't allowed to disclose names in here) cut the call, transferred me to some horrible music which contained a message thanking me for my call and then cut off.

This is totally disrespectful of loyal customers, who have purchased every model (with the exception of two which I didn't want) since the beginning of the club

Are we correct in saying that when you now call our customer services team you request to speak to the team's managers? This is fine and assuming they are available, they are perfectly happy to speak to you to help whatever problem you are experiencing. We fully recognise that people probably don't intend to be rude or angry when speaking to our customer services team and that this is just frustration coming through. However, we politely request that all callers respect our customer service team otherwise they will terminate the call. We have in the past dealt with some very upset call operatives due to the anger and bad language they've been at the receiving end of. /// In many ways it is a shame you're not on our Corgi Model Club Facebook group because that's the best way to be up to date with information on late running models and any other information pertaining to the Corgi Model Club. It is an extremely open and transparent (and friendly!) group – and there's a direct connection with the Corgi Model Club team. Our social media is run and managed by members of the CMC team. As a member of the Facebook group, you would have been aware that the Heinkel 'Bubble' car isn't made in China but is the first model from our new factory in Bangladesh – hence the teething problems with logistics resulting with the delivery running 10 days late. The model is due to be dispatched this week. /// You may have forgotten (or are unaware of this) but you receive your Corgi Model Club models from the very first batch out of the warehouse every month. That's why, when a model is running late, your delivery is affected. Can we suggest instead that you push your model dispatch to the end of each month instead? That way your model is far less likely to be delayed past your expected delivery date. Please let us know if you would like us to action this. You can email me personally to discuss this and/or any other matter: mike(at)corgimodelclub.com

Not impressed with the Corgi Club membership so far.

I ordered a James Bond Gold coloured Aston Martin DB5 car as part of my initital membership introduction the Corgi Club.
On their website it never stated it was out of stock, so I ordered it and thought since I've ordered from them before and recieved everything and the service I had was really good as is the quality of their models, hence why I collect them. so I thought I would get this order through.
But nearly over a month later nothing had arrived and then the corgi customer services eventually emailed me after I sent them countless emails, and they said it was in the post and the excuse was it was because of the Xmas period or perhaps the bad weather we had in the UK was their first reasons, but alas after waiting a length of time it still didn't arrive and then I sent more emails about it and yet again after a long reply they now said it's out of stock and to wait for the car model a while longer.
I've even asked for Corgi to send me the batman 1960's style car instead since I'm not getting my original model that I ordered with my new membership. I've been patient with Corgi customer services on this for a while now, I'm still awaiting a full refund or just a simple replacement. I do hope that Corgi sort this mess out real soon.

We did indeed have a tricky time over the Christmas period regarding deliveries, which was then compounded by the bad weather – probably not helped by us releasing the Ecurie Ecosse Car Transporter, our first Corgi Major (ie larger model) which was eagerly awaited by Corgi Model Club members. Whether this festive delivery problem is a new thing (we switched back to using Royal Mail from Amazon earlier this year) or will be a regular thing moving forward is something we will be monitoring very closely. We're acutely aware of the increasing pressure that all delivery services are under at Christmas time. HOWEVER, the service form us that you have outlined is something we're now looking into with some urgency, NOW. It is certainly not the level of service we have become renowned for and we apologise. Are you OK if we publish our findings on here? To find out what was happened, can we confirm that Batatat Mann is the name you used to place your order? Otherwise it may be difficult for us to trace you on the datatbase. Many thanks!

Back to being 6 years old...instead of 60.

I've been a member of this club for some years now and I'm highly impressed with the quality of these models. I must stress that these were toys in the past and therefore are not 'scale accurate models' but replicas of our childhood playthings. I have collected approximately two thirds of the these as not every offering is to ones individual taste but that's the great thing...your not 'tied' to buying everything, you can miss out what you don't want. Also on the rare occasion there's a fault, the club quickly rectify any issues. These should not be bought as 'investments' (won't increase much in value) but as a fun nostalgic memory, or toy for your own children (or more likely grandchildren). Well done CMC and looking forward to the next item arriving soon.

For info: we update this reply whenever we receive new information because Trustpilot does not have the facility for multiple replies.

We have now received information from our Customer Services Team resulting from this review. Thus this reply has again been updated.

We are not mentioning the customer's name in the interests of their privacy.

A similar review from the same customer was posted on our Corgi Model Club website on 3/2/2025, which resulted in the customer being contacted with the following email:

Hello XXX,
Regarding your recent review. I am really sorry to hear that there is an issue with the model you've received; please could you kindly send a photo demonstrating the issue to us so that we can investigate this further for you?
With kind regards
Customer Services

We never received a reply. This is a shame because the reported paint problem would have resulted in either a replacement model or a refund. For context, we have not received any other reports of this problem with any of the 60+ models we have issued in the last five years (approx 250,000 models in total) so we would certainly have acted on something this serious.

We note that the customer received two models from us: a Batmobile and a Saint's Volvo P1800. We are unsure which of these two models has the reported defect. We also note that the customer says he has "binned" the defective model – which is a shame because the offer to send pics of it for us to resolve this issue still stands.

Our original reply, saying that it is "a shame that Trustpilot so easily allows these kinds of comments without evidence" remains. We have a customer services team for a reason – to resolve these issues speedily and to the satisfaction of all parties. We always bend over backwards to help customers, as our 4.5 Trustpilot score hopefully goes someway to evidencing. To anyone reading this who has a grievance and/or criticism of our products or service, PLEASE get in touch.
