I have just completed the Proofreading and Copy Editing course. It was such a well structured course, and the whole process from enrollment to working through each module to submitting assignments was very straightforward. Shuna, my tutor, was encouraging, friendly and very patient. I achieved a distinction so I am hoping to use my new skills and get back into work after some tricky health issues.

Did this course years ago when I wanted to formally learn copywriting. You must know this. It is not a formal level 4 diploma, in fact, I think the title of it is misleading. It is not the equivalent of a level 4 diploma, and is not a diploma at all. It is not an Of-qual regulated qualification, the wording gives you that impression but it is not. You will learn copywriting, but if you are thinking it is equivalent to formal diploma, it is not.

Update: In response to the reply below, what I said stands. It is misleading.

This course teaches you all the basic elements of good copywriting, and takes you through the most common tasks that you will face as a working copywriter. The explanations are thorough, and the tasks are generally pretty interesting, as well as good practice for the skills you learn in each lesson.

My tutor was great; she gave me nice words of encouragement when I did things well, and clear, actionable advice for the things I needed to work on. I'm sure the other tutors are excellent too.

My only criticism of the course is that the lesson materials contained several dead hyperlinks, either to pages that had been removed completely or whose web addresses had changed. It was always easy to find the articles, or alternatives on the same subjects, and you should probably look for extra sources yourself anyway, but it was a little frustrating at times.

I wouldn't be put off by this, because the vast majority of the content is high quality, relevant and very useful. If the links were fixed, I would give the course a 5 star rating without any hesitation. It was well worth my time, and I'm very glad I did it.

Staff are all welcoming, the tutor was very knowledgeable in her field and gave constructive feedback.

I found the whole process from start to finish, including enrollment and online access, very clear. The learning materials were relevant to all the assignments and easy to follow, with excellent examples to support learning. I enjoyed the challenges of each assignment and the satisfaction of achieving good grades throughout. My tutor, Julian, was very helpful if I needed to query anything, and assignments were marked very quickly, to help move on to the next one.
I achieved a Distinction. I am delighted with this result. I know the new learning will help in my current work, when writing professional reports, but I would also feel confident to undertake proofreading and editing work, which is also supported by CMP with very useful guidance and post-course materials.
I would definitely recommend CMP and this course, whether to help improve your writing skills or as a new career in proofreading and editing.

Excellent course that really broadened my knowledge. There were so many things I thought I understood (SEO, press releases, thought pieces) but really didn't until this course explained them. It takes quite a lot of effort and self-motivation to finish the course and complete the various assignments, but the results are well worth it.

Really enjoyed this course. It has allowed me to take my proofreading and copyediting to the next level. My tutor was amazing and very encouraging throughout the various assignments. Helping me get the most from the course and achieve a very satisfying result. I would strongly recommend this course.

CMP's Social Media Marketing Course
I have recently completed and passed CMP’s Social Media Marketing course. I found each module valuable and relevant. I discovered how platforms provide a two-sided network promoting engagement and about how marketers target users based on demographics. Social media, I learned, was not a monologue, but a conversation. Perhaps this sums up Social Media Marketing. My tutor, Justine, was very helpful and professional.
This is my third course with CMP. I have also studied and passed Proofreading and Editing and Web Editing. The three complement one another. The knowledge I have gained is invaluable. Thank you to all at CMP.

The copywriting course has made a tremendous impact in my life. The guidance, knowledge and assistance I have received from my tutor and the CMP team has been extraordinary and I am incredibly grateful.

I completed the copywriting course, which included over 20 lessons. The lessons are written documents, which include links to other useful resources. These definitely give you a good all-round grounding in the basics of copywriting, including the legalities and touching on recent developments, such as AI. It’s much easier to have a curated series of lessons than to have to do all your own research.

But the best thing about the course is definitely having the chance to complete assignments that are marked by a tutor. My tutor, Elena, was very encouraging and responsive to my questions. She gave detailed and thoughtful feedback on my work. This is what helped me develop skills, confidence, and a solid portfolio. She was also a friendly supporter throughout the course.

There are also some electronic quizzes to test your understanding of some of the more technical lessons, such as the legal considerations. These were a good way to test your own knowledge and apply learning as you can retake them if you don’t do well.

I completed this course as a career changer. I like the fact that the certificate follows the qualifications framework so it’s easy to communicate the level of study to others if needed.

I’d say this course is a suitable level of challenge for its level and good for career changers or as CPD for people already working in related fields.

I did a lot of research before taking this course and would say the information I found online was accurate.

I'm absolutely loving the copywriting course. Even before joining, the email interaction with the Team and the pre-joining information was excellent. It really peaked my interest and helped me to make the positive decision to start the course. Also I'm very glad the course has been updated to include AI, as I was a bit worried that AI would limit the need for copywriters, though I now see that that is not the case. Though life issues have delayed me racing ahead, I am going to submit my first assignment very soon and looking forward to steadily moving ahead. I would highly recommend CMP to others who want to study courses in this and other media genres.

I was already experience in a lot of ways but this course added new skills for the new (2025) workplace which were much needed. I've already put them into place in my career and they've been hugely helpful in my retraining.

My copywriting course with CMP was great. I decided to learn new writing skills after a burnout at work and the desire to change career. If anything, I like writing and wondered how I could be paid to write. This course has given me the confidence I was lacking to get started. Every step is straight forward in the course, you learn, give assignments back, get graded by your tutor. I had lots of constructive feedback on my assignments from my tutor. I highly recommend this course and CMP. I will definitely be back for more learning. Thank you!

Great course.
I would recommend for anyone who needs to write anything that other people need to read. From people who have to write any documentation at work to aspiring / professional authors.
The learning material is excellent, and the assignments definitely check your knowledge of the topics.

Just like all good courses, I did not finish the course thinking I 'knew it all'. It made me appreciate how much more there is to learn and practical experience i need to get. The most useful parts of the course (after the basic lessons) are probably all the links to the sites that are going to be a regular sources of reference in the future.
