Classic Journeys Dolomites Walking Tour
The marketing brochure for the Dolomites Cultural Walking Tour described walks as “easy to moderate”, over “country lanes or well maintained trails” with daily distance options according to a table provided. In fact, the walks were moderate to extremely challenging, trail surfaces were very rough and in some places ridiculously steep, and daily distance options were not offered. I showed the lead guide the table of daily distance options sent to me by Classic Journeys and she said “What is this?” The tour had only two guides for 17 clients.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your Dolomites experience. We’ve appreciated the opportunity to connect with you after you returned home and understand more about your experience on tour. We want every guest to feel well prepared for their journey, and we value the opportunity to better understand your perspective.
Our Dolomites itinerary is carefully developed, with our founders and operations team personally walking and reviewing the routes. We also provide daily walking mileage and route details in the guest itinerary to help travelers prepare for each day. That said, we recognize that walking experiences can feel quite different from one person to another, particularly in a mountainous region like the Dolomites, and we appreciate you sharing how the terrain and walks felt during your trip.
Thank you again for choosing Classic Journeys and for being open with us about your experience. We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to connect with you after you returned home, and we look forward to continuing our conversation.

Fantastic trip
Erik and our 6 person group(plus 9 more) enjoyed a fantastic trip to Iceland. We snorkeled, rode horses, hiked on a glacier, rode Zodiacs in Glacier Bay, saw waterfalls, ate delicious meals and on and on. Such a great trip!

Classic Journeys delivered a fabulous tour of Quebec!
From the beginning of the tour and the concise history of Quebec to the end, strawberry ice cream with fresh strawberries and freshly made fudge, the week-long trip was perfect. It was the right balance of hiking, learning about Quebec culture, whale watching (with four different whale species), multiple gourmet meals, a great group of fellow travelers, and our two exceptional guides. We couldn't have asked for a better trip.

A balanced mix of active walking, architecture, history, culture and local food experiences.
Our two very experienced guides, Diane and Julia, organized our daily activities to the point that the entire trip was orchestrated seamlessly. Classic Journeys does a great job of communicating from the point of booking right up until the trip takes place. All went very smoothly and was extremely enjoyable.

A well-architected, exquisite trip
The trip was well architected with much variety. Our trip leader Atli and his company is an incredible asset for the Classic Journeys company. Accommodations and meals were exquisite. Cultural education was top-notch mainly due to Atli’s knowledge and
background.
The eclipse viewing setup was sublime. It was nice meeting other travelers and enjoying the experience together.
One negative comment is receiving instructions for packing bags and bag sizing the day we were leaving for the trip. That is way too late to be sending specifications for bag sizes. I wasn’t impacted, but my travel mate was. She chose to not address the newly-received requirements.
Overall, I will definitely consider Classic Journeys for my next adventure.

The most memorable experiences
The most memorable experiences of traveling with Classic Journeys are because of this outstanding attribute: each destination is guided by local experts who provide a perspective of cultures and worldviews that one cannot appreciate as an outsider traveling by oneself.

Classic Journeys structure is great
Classic Journeys structure is great. The business model of combining the athletics (walking/hiking) with the culture experiences (native guides) is wonderful. We did have a wonderful time and will be a repeat customer.
