Let me save you all the aggravation before you bid anything from CharityBuzz / CharityBomb. This is nothing but a scam, hiding under the “charity umbrella.” What they sell is a lot less if you go directly to the source despite them saying the “value” is more than twice what the actual cost is. I don’t mind paying for stuff but I hate being scammed. Someone needs to look into this further, I’m certain none of this is actually going to charity.

Hi there- thanks for reaching out to us about your concerns. A portion of every Charitybuzz purchase goes to a registered 501(c)(3) charity in good standing with the IRS. Oftentimes, the charities use our platform to auction their items and experiences, and therefore receive 80% of the proceeds, paying a 20% platform fee. Other times, Charitybuzz sources and sells our own items and experiences; in those cases, we still donate an amount to a charitable organization, even though the benefiting organization is not involved in the auction. In those cases, the amount we donate to charity ranges from 5%-80%, and is stated up front on each item page.

For all Charitybuzz purchases, the money we're giving to nonprofits is money that otherwise would just be spent on entertainment (travel, events, gifting, collectibles, etc.), so by using Charitybuzz, patrons are moving new funds into the hands of charitable organizations. We are a for-profit business with a new type of business model that increases the amount of funds going to charity, by bringing people unique, rare access and experiences. We are grateful to play this role and bring new, unrestricted funds to so many charitable beneficiaries.

We do hope you can see from the explanation above that we are proud of our business and genuinely committed to unlocking new funds for charities, in different and evolving ways. For people who want to shop for dream experiences, secure access to unmatched events, vacation in luxury (etc.), Charitybuzz is an option to shop in a better way, obtain what you're looking for, and trigger charitable impact simply by bidding or purchasing. We of course understand if you wanted to donate directly to a charity, 100% of your donation would go to that organization, and we always encourage people to donate directly if and when they're ever motivated to do so. I have yet to receive my winning bid or…

I have yet to receive my winning bid or receive any information as to when I shall receive it; this is after calling on Friday. As I recall I was charged $ 35 plus for shipping.
On Friday I was told it had not left your warehouse and I won the bid on December 8. If it does not arrive by Christmas I will return it and expect a refund of my bid.

My last few purchases had many problems, one did not get filled, and I use to l9ve CB. Now I'm getting dissatisfaction.

Auctions fees and lack of communication

The acution fee seems a bit high. There needs to be more communication and holding the selling parties accountable for shipping goods in a reasonable time frame. Once the auction is done and payment is made it seems as if the charitybuzz just says thanks and moves on to the next one.

The guitar had glue all over it from…

The guitar had glue all over it from the picture. The piece that was signed, was crooked and not glued very well and coming off when I receive the package I have many signed guitars from the Eagles and Don Henley and this is the only one that does not look professional at all.
I will think twice about ordering any memorabilia from Charitybuzz. Sincerely, Gary.

Beware of Hidden premium fees!

BEWARE HIDDEN PREMIUM FEES ON WINNING BIDS!
Just realized that I was charged 25.3% above and beyond my winning bid on an item. If you read other reviews of “Charitybuzz”, you’ll see that the majority of reviewers are complaining about the same issue. There is no proclamation that is obvious to the bidder that these hidden charges exist. It’s all in the fine print.
It’s underhanded. You will get a response that will tell you that this charge is customary as with most other auction houses (20%). In my case, I was charged almost 26%! Then they’ll tell you they’re looking at ways to improve the experience and that your comments will be taken seriously by their staff.
This is my first (and last time) dealing with this dishonest so-called charitable organization).

The auction fees are too high and the…

The auction fees are too high and the auctions in general don’t offer a lot of transparency.

I didn’t read any reviews before I commented but you can see the complaints are all the same, hidden buried fees. Put it on the bid page!

As you can see from the response that they gave to my critique, it’s all cut and paste. Put the fees and the taxes and the shipping cost on the bid page or here’s even a better idea when the person has to confirm the bid confirm it means that they’ve seen all the fees!

I won the happy dance starts now!

The experience was awesome. I love the countdown clock. For me that made it the most exciting to be able to watch it. I did not know about the extra charge. I guess I should’ve read a little better. The charge was not that extravagant and made it to where I didn’t want to purchase though prompt service on getting a hold of you after you one and a day or so after to let you know who is going to be taking care of you.

I have not received my item

I have not received my item after i was charged 8 days ago. In addition, I have not received any information regarding when it might be shipped/arriving??? This is my first winning bid on Charitybuzz and am not impressed. I can't even find any information on the website about my item. Please help!!!!!
