I have had Chargepoint for about 6 weeks. It has been nothing but a problem.
History charging in public: When I charge in a public facility to 80% I get 200-204 miles.
Chargepoint home charger: in 6 weeks I have been able to get to that number once. It stops at 159, 188, or stops after 5 minutes.
Once I reached 204 I was over the moon. The next charge 179. Same charge time 12:00am to 6:am. Chargepoint claims they deliver 37 miles per hour. Using their math that means it should have delivered 222miles in 6 hours.
I’ll even be generous. If they delivered 25 miles in 6 hours that is 150. When my car is at 48% at 109 miles. That would put me at 259 miles. So something is wrong. I called Southern California Edison. Nothing g wrong on their end. Then the service guy at Chargepoint says maybe it’s your battery. Well, a week prior it had no trouble charging g to 204. If I go to a public place no problem charging to 204.
This is a company which has no customer service other than phone. Which I like, but the guy who got me to 204 asked me to reach him by email if I had further problems. Then I get an email. We do t support emails. Their Manuel only comes in French. How is that? You are selling g an expensive item in America where few are bilingual.
I would not purchase from Chargepoint. There are better companies out there.

Absolute Abzocke. Auto wurde voll geladen und danach gings mit 8 cent die Minute Blokiergebühr los. Hab an den 3 Stunden 5,5€ fürs laden und 10 € Blockiergebühr gelöhnt.
Selten so gemolken worden.

Update : Mein 19 € Guthaben welche nach meiner Kontokündigung am 07.03.2026 zurück an mein Konto überwiesen hätte sollen, ist immer noch nicht da. Das Support ticket 15697588 vom 17.03.2026 ist immer noch unbeantwortet.
Meine Frist zum 27.03 wurde auch nicht eingehalten.
Ich werde mit der Kreditkarte ein Charge-back beantragen, vielleicht reagiert dann mal der Support.

Charged my car once. The next charge was by someone using my details and charging my bank and me paying for the service. Someone charging their car using my bank account from 100s of miles away! When I called, they hung up every time. Called back the next day and closed my account (they did refund me so worth the 1 star)
I feel this company takes your details and sells them on or uses them in some way to make more money. I have deleted all my details and will NEVER use this company again. Do NOT make the same mistake and never charge with them!
To Chargepoint - I wont be giving my email address on this public forum. I did receive a survey to complete at my email address, and its relating case #15610674 so i will use that to submit this and someone can come back to me from there. Thank you.

Would be zero if it could.
Like many others I was charged over £110 for parking charges in another country.
Reading others reviews it is clear there was a data breach, and like others I was not made aware. I did not even have the app downloaded on my phone anymore!
Have contacted customer services but with no interaction, or resolve from them. Company clearly does not take fraud seriously.
Disgusting!

Chargepoint gehört zu den Dienstleistern, die zwar günstig sind (Laden über Roaming), aber wehe man benötigt den Support. Der scheint mir wie eine große schwarze Grube zu sein. Ich habe mittlerweile zwei offene Tickets beim tech. Support. Rückmelddungen gibt es nicht, teilweise noch nicht mal einen Mitarbeiter am Telefon der Deutsch spricht. Im letzten Jahr hat Chargepoint mir über 200€ für Standgebühren in Hamburg berechnet und sich bis heute nicht dazu geäußert. Dazu arbeitet CP juristisch nicht sauber. Die Rechnungen sind nicht gesetzeskonform und ich bei der Standgebühr hat CP seine Informationspflichten als Dienstleister verletzt.
Kurzum : NIE wieder Chargepoint. Zum Glück gibt es genug andere Anbieter für Ladedienstleistungen.

Very bad customer service, was trying to dispute a payment with them and they couldnt even be bother to look at the case or anything. Just told me to contact the bank. Wont be using them again

I tried to update my credit card and get an error message that I can't do that while in a session. I'm not in a charging session. I tried both the app and the website to no avail. The app wants to verify my account but no code is ever sent. No one answers the 24/7 customer service line after being on it for an hour. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but it didn't help. I can't reach anyone to fix this glitch.

Chargepoint takes money for nothing. They do not care if there are problems with the stations as long as they collect. Notify them and they ignore you.
Chargepoint wants me to publish my email in a review, before they will look into it?!
They are only willling to look into it now that I’ve gone public with my experience?!
If Chargepoint genuinely wants to look into it, how about supplying a method or means of referring to this review without publishing my personal email??

Prélèvements effectués sans mon accord ! Une société sans scrupules, personne de peut résoudre le problème. Cela dure depuis 3 mois. Déjà 15 appels de passer, j'ai donc fait un signalement à signal.conso.gouv.

Useless - I wouldn't use them again. I was defrauded in November - it looks like someone hacked into my ChargePoint account - we were in the USA but someone in London accessed my account. I am out-of-pocket by £56. I have phoned ChargePoint on several occasions - they promise that they will refund the money but I am still waiting . . . Why is it taking so long? Like someone else, I would give ChargePoint NO stars. And emailing doesn't produce a response either. As I said at the start USELESS organisation. FINAL update (mid March) - my money has been refunded along with the balance on my account - nice email from ChargePoint to confirm repayment.

Second review as the company have just replied to my refund request and complaint after three months, off the back of charging me £136 for a 2kW session. I have received two emails, one saying a refund has been put through, and one saying my refund request has been rejected. Utterly useless company with awful support. Avoid avoid avoid!

Am 26.01.2026 wurde mein ChargePoint-Konto direkt nach einem regulären Ladevorgang gesperrt. Seitdem ist es nicht möglich, eine Zahlungsmethode hinzuzufügen. Mehrere Kreditkarten (Visa und Mastercard) wurden getestet, jede Eingabe scheitert mit Systemfehlern oder fehlgeschlagener Kartenüberprüfung. Meine Bank hat bestätigt, dass kein Problem vorliegt.
Ich habe den Support mehrfach telefonisch und per E-Mail kontaktiert. Mein Fall wurde an die IT- sowie Finanzabteilung eskaliert, dennoch ist mein Account bis heute nicht nutzbar. Ich habe auch selbst darauf hingewiesen, dass vermutlich ein defekter Zahlungs-Token oder blockierter Zahlungsstatus vorliegt.
Es ist sehr enttäuschend, dass ein Account nach einem regulären Ladevorgang gesperrt wird und über Wochen keine Lösung erfolgt. Ich erwarte eine umgehende Wiederherstellung der Zahlungsfunktion.
Zie mijn eerdere review, account gehackt, nog steeds niets gehoord. Beloven, beloven, aan het lijntje houden, slecht bereikbaar, niet reageren, u kent het wel. Wat een oplichters
Antwoord van Chargepoint: We doen er alles aan om dit met prioriteit voor u op te lossen en houden u bij elke stap op de hoogte.
Niet dus, je hoort helemaal niets en ik lees in andere reviews dat het vaker gebeurd. Ws is dit een verdienmodel?

If it was possible to choose no stars I would! Noticed my account was being charged for parking in London, no where near where I live. Immediately blocked all cards and changed my password. I contacted charge point who assured me I would be refunded and that’s still yet to happen! I contacted them about this and the lady I spoke to said she couldn’t give me a time frame of when I would receive it so I’m now out of pocket. Wish i had read the reviews before setting up an account with them. Word of warning to anybody who may consider these in the future.

Hotline nicht erreichbar und wenn dann oft nur auf englisch. Änderung der Zahlungsoptionen gestaltet sich schwierig bis unmöglich. Kann ich leider nicht weiter empfehlen.

I used ChargePoint for the first time and couldn’t get it to work due to no verification code being received ( tried 3 times) Then I couldn’t release the cable from the charge point. Then I rang the customer service people who tried and successfully released the cable. By the time I got home I had a message from the Bank to say did you authorise £50 to be released. As it was the first time I used this machine, I had no idea that they or the bank held £50 just in case even though I never charged the car. The Bank then unblocked the card and I rang ChargePoint and explain the situation. They were not able to tell me why my verification code has not been received even though the email was correct.  They then said try later but that’s no good when you’re trying to charge your car and you need the juice. Let me make it clear the service that I received talking to human beings was very good and they tried but I think the ChargePoint system is just fundamentally poor.. it’s no Tesla. I’ve now deleted the app and we will not be using them again

They failed to send any notification that charging was done then charged $100 for leaving it on the charger too long! I complained and they're completely silent. And now they're introducing a regressive connection charge, which makes cheap electric vehicles more expensive to charge vs expensive ones. It's regressive because cheap cars need to connect 7-8x as often. They only want rich customers who won't complain when they're overcharged or mischarged.

Manque de sécurité évident sur l'utilisation de l'application mobile, le pirate arrive à utiliser votre compte sans aucun contrôle de la localisation, ni de MFA.
Aucun SMS d'alerte
Depuis le 18/2/2026 .. rien ne se passe j'ai un numéro de dossier N°15609152 mais aucun remboursement !!!
Lamentable !!!
