Water butt barrel is a great alternative to plastic models! The Celtic Timber team couldn’t have been more helpful when I made a mistake on the order. Many thanks for a great service.

Oak Barrel Water Butt - We purchased one of these products and installed it. The first time it filled with water it leaked between the staves. I had hoped that the wood would expand and solve the problem. When it is more then 3/4 full water pours from the joints every time it rains, taking the tannins from the wood and staining our patio. It is connected to a diverter so doesn't overflow. Celtic Timber don't care and have offered no solution saying that it works as a water butt - not if the water leaks out!

I have purchased an oak fire surround.
It arrived within a fortnight and I received helpful advice from staff about how to order my unusual size of surround at no extra cost.
It’s now fitted and looks beautiful

Bought 2 three quarter size oak barrels to use as planters in the garden. Very easy website price was fine. Arrive fast exactly on the time specified.
Super quality just what we wanted.
We’ve bought similar from other vendors before which haven't lasted too long because the wood isn't as good.

PIcked the "B" grade where wood is slightly marked, looks absolutely fine.

Just one point is that they may be a different height .
So, if you're looking to get 2 as a matching pair you need to specify that to Celtic.
Their website does make it clear that dimensions are a range .
Super company to deal with use them again.

I tried a few times to ask about products once 2 people were rude, another time not give there name, other times not get through, so im going some where else if they dont want my money

Beautiful product.
Ordered a beam to go over my fire, I initially ordered the wrong size. Emailed to arrange a return and had a quick response confirming the process.
New beam arrived quickly and looks lovely above my fire. Great quality and design, along with excellent customer service and quick delivery.

Ordered a large beam for over my new log burner paid £140 was delivered within a week I ordered a lightly worked beam
Arrived one side had a crack running through it I expected some texture but this was clearly not the look I was looking for
Emailed for advise still waiting no response very disappointed

I purchased 3 x Oak Whisky Half Barrel Planters (Dumpy) and made use of the 25% Black Friday Sale. I can only say that the barrels are just as stated, but what they do not tell you is the aroma of them is fabulous, why bother planting flowers. Delivery was fast, and easy, so overall the goods and service has been exemplary, deserving every star

I’m so glad we found Celtic Timber online. We bought an oak fireplace beam which is 6” x 8” x 7ft. We were a little worried that the price was too good to be true but what has been delivered is absolutely great. It’s such a beautiful piece of oak and the coal oil supplied brought it to exactly the finish we expected.
The delivery guys were great and carried the beam through into the house for me.
The beam was fantastically well wrapped so was perfect when unwrapped. The only slight issue we had was that the one of the bottles of oil had been smashed in transit. I sent pictures to the customer services email and William replied very quickly to organise for a replacement to be sent. This arrived very quickly.
All round great product and service.

Beautiful piece of wood, oil made a big difference. It has finished our lounge off. Was very easy to fit, by the joinery. We got a 5x5 5ft

Misleading Product and Unhelpful Customer Service

I recently ordered a fire surround from this company, and the whole experience has been extremely disappointing.

After placing my order, I received a confirmation email showing a sculptured fire surround — exactly what I wanted. However, what was delivered was completely different from the image in the confirmation.

When I called to resolve the issue, the male representative I spoke with refused to give his name and was very dismissive. I was told I could return the item, but only if I paid £210 for the return — even though the product they sent did not match the description or photo provided.

This is misleading advertising, plain and simple. Under the Consumer Rights Act, goods should match their description and images, and it’s unreasonable to expect customers to pay to fix a mistake made by the company.

I’ve provided proof of the incorrect item and the confirmation email, but the company has shown no willingness to help. I would strongly caution others to double-check what they’re ordering before purchasing, as the customer service is unhelpful and unsympathetic when things go wrong.

I accept that the information about deli ery of the railway sleepers is on the website but most people do not have a means of off loading a pack of 14 eighty kilo sleepers off a lorry!! Why would you not instruct a haulier with a grab arm on the lorry to deliver your goods. Very uncustomer friendly and gentleman i spoke to very unhelpful. I did not order them in the end for this reason. A shame.

Purchased an Oak Beam for new fireplace. Within a short space of time the beam split wide open in numerous places to the point where it looks as if someone has taken an axe to it. Told that splitting is to be expected, which we accept but not to this degree which gives us safety concerns. Aesthetically it is utterly dreadful. I would suggest reading all the reviews not just the recommendations. Definitely would NOT recommend.

I bought a chopping board from Celtic Timber. Communication was excellent as I wanted cast iron handles fitted to the board. I’m delighted with my product and would highly recommend Celtic timber for your “woody” needs!!

The shelves I ordered for my kitchen arrived quickly and are of excellent quality. The "square edges" are nicely sanded so that they feel smooth to the touch. Thank you!

I bought a 120 gallon dumpy whisky barrel with seat to use for dipping in the garden. I am 170 cm tall and use a little garden stool to get in and out. The internal seat is great to help with the gradual immersion of the body into the cold water.
The history, boozy smell (saddly becoming less and less), and the natural wood make the barrel a real feature in the garden.
Maneuvering the 135kg barrel into place required 3 careful people, but it was doable in the end.
The lid is heavy but manageable. CT have been very responsive with regards to some leaking issues and I have a watertight barrel now which I use with great enthusiasm most days.
