Hidden additional costs
When I reviewed my policy within the first week, my business miles were the wrong way round to my social miles. My overall miles remained the same therefore one call handler said it didn’t matter leave it. I called back on the same day as this didn’t sit right with me and I was told I would need to change it and any change to the policy comes with a £35 admin fee and policy fee recalculation. The call handler asked for permission from her senior to wave this fee but it was refused.
There were a lot of forms to fill in and new DVLA form for both me and the additional driver. Forms can only be submit in specific ways. These took over 24 hours to update and again the call handler couldn’t see the documents I had already uploaded to my account. Therefore my experience of this insurer has been very poor. Wrong advice, additional forms I’ve never had to complete before, refusal to waiver an astonishingly £35 fee in the cooling off period for a minor mileage change and so overall out of 24 years driving and never making a claim, Brightside have been the worst and most stressful insurers. I cancelled within the first 14 days at a cost of £25 and actually went on to find a cheaper insurer.

As the change was being completed after the policy started, administration fees are applicable, and this information is detailed in our terms of business which are provided to you when purchasing a policy with us. We understand your frustration with the charge and we’re sorry the team leader wasn’t able to waive this fee for you.

Confused previous customer
Despite using my Brightside account having been a previous customer to purchase this insurance, thew documents have not been linked to it and their own instructions contradict the one e-mailed document I have received from them. Hopefully things will be sorted.

Advisor very good but increase unacceptable
Advisor very good, helpful and efficient. One problem was my insurance went up by over £100 because our car was damaged when parked in a car park by another driver when we weren't even in the car. No claim was made by us as all repairs were covered by the other drivers insurance, so why did my premiums increase by so much? It's unfair!!!
