We pre-booked a couple of trips here. Just like any other site. But 3 of the trips got cancelled. Not by us but by the tour operators. They call us and said we needed to get our money back at backbackerdeals. Almost one month later and we still got nothing back. Every time we e-mail them we get the answer “we will get back at you”. They did offer us travel credit but we don’t want that. We want our money back. So if you book, hopefully you don’t get cancelled cause you don’t get your money back.

I called their helpline number for a cancellation and was put on wait for 5 minutes after which the call got disconnected. Throughout these 5 minutes, they kept replaying the same message over and over again about "chat with agent online". I heard it alteast a 100 times and gave me a headache. Why cant you put some music or something while putting people on hold ? I also raised a cancellation request on their website, but there has been no acknowledgement of the cancellation or any way for me to track the status. This is so disappointing !

10 out of 5 stars Duncan at backpackerdeals. I booked a flight into Uluru before booking accommodation, and there wasn't a bed to be had anywhere in the vicinity until multiple nights after my arrival. With overnight temps at 0, having no camping gear with me, and no other travelers with me- it wasn't looking great. Until I connected with Duncan, the absolute LEGEND over the backpackerdeals online chat. I told him my challenge and that I was looking for a multi-night camping tour that I could join the very next day (at what I now know is the height of the season). Duncan was a pro, found the perfect outing with a last minute spot, camping gear and warm sleeping gear provided, and because my flight arrived hours after the tour departed Uluru he even arranged for me to be picked up by the tour driver at a safe location later that evening. As if that wasn't everything and more- he included a deal code to help out as well. See- LEGEND.
