Katie was super great in helping us organize some logistics with our trip in Uluru Australia. All worked out great!
I made more bookings and the booking of the trips are pretty straight forward and prices are attractive. However, using the cashback was not easy at all and I had to contact customer service, because I could not see the cashback and when I could, it was not possible to use it. However, the great people at customer service were flexible and able to help and finally I worked. Thanks to Katie among others. Another big plus is that it was a real employee and not some AI agent.

Did a booking with backpacker deals.. initially had some issues as I didn’t get a response on email. However, once I connected with them through the chat box the customer service and experience was taken to the next level. Very well handled by Shai Olden. She was very quick in responding to my issues and resolved it no trouble. Really appreciate the customer service. Thank you Shai Olden and Team backpacker.. will definitely recommend and come back for more
Helpful service, best deals and codes for a group of people
I booked after reading the terms and conditions listed under the booking . However when I went to cancel they and saying that the listed terms aren’t valid , and I’m not eligible for a fefund . Despite it clearly stating it if fully refundable . I have reported to the ACCC
Here are the terms listed -
We understand that sometimes road trips may need to be cancelled. In case of cancel terms apply:
• If cancelled 31+ days prior to pick-up - No fee (booking deposit refundable)
• If cancelled 30 to 7 days prior to pick-up - 20% of Total Rental
• If cancelled less 6 days or less prior to pick-up - 50% of Total Rental
• If cancelled on the day of pick-up or no show - 100% of Total Rental)

Be advised you are not allowed on their 3 night camping tour to Uluru if you are not 49 or under.Their third party insurance will not allow them to take you even if you are fit and well after 49.To me this is ageism and wrong if you are a relatively fit and well older person and I advise them to change to a more pragmatic insurer for older fitter people to be included in such tours too. I was wrongly advised by a member of staff that I could go aged 59 in June this year.They say they contacted me later by e mail to cancel,but I did not receive the e mail they say they sent.What a palava.Avoid booking this tour with them if you are fit and 50 or over.They do not want you over 49 for this tour,as they regard you as on your last legs!Unfortunately,I did not save my email from the earlier encounter from the male member of staff, saying I would still be OK to come on the trip at my age.It happened for sure, however much they gas light me into saying I got an email saying I was not allowed on the trip shortly after I booked.I did not but because I cannot prove it, I am the guilty one!They did at least give me a full refund, but that did not stop all my travel plans from Alice Springs being totally ruined,so I had to start from scratch with new plans and further expense to stay longer to see all I wanted to see before I was informed I could not go on the trip just when I arrived m Australia..After a 24 hour trip from the UK,when I thought all was OK, it was too much stress to encounter on landing in Australia tired and jet lagged. I must admit I swore a few times on the phone in good old Anglo Saxon,for which I am sorry to have lost my cool. I admit nothing,as I know my truth was and is,I was originally told I could go on the trip and never informed shortly after booking that I could not go.

Jeg har ellers tidligere været glade for at benytte Backpacker Deals, men det er som om at deres serviceniveau falder drastisk, når de skal tilbagebetale penge. For et par måneder siden blev jeg desværre nødt til at aflyse en tur, grundet sygdom. Jeg blev lovet 50 % refundering, men har stadig ikke modtaget pengene. Jeg har flere gange skrevet og bedt om svar på, hvornår jeg kan forvente pengene retur, men Backpacker Deals har ikke engang besvaret mine mails
The staff is very helpful. I booked a last minute trip and didn’t get my confirmation. I was a bit stressed. However, the staff was able to de-escalate the situation and sort everything out for me in a very timely manner.
