Ordered 5 sets of WW2 soldiers. Was unaware that they were out of stock until I phoned and enquired why my order hadn't arrived. Quite a surly lady told me that the website was clear and you are told twice that items are not in stock. When I looked again it says pre-order above the price but it's not clear what this means. Also, there is no indication when you go to the check out that the items are out of stock ( the lady told me it did- she obviously hasn't used the website). So I had two boys waiting weeks for their models only to receive an email the day after I enquired where my items were to say they were unavailable. I ordered the same items on Amazon and received them just over a week later AND they were cheaper AND it was free p&p!
The items are still listed on the website so beware!

Terrible experience. Gave my autistic son the wrong product which caused lots of upset (if you know about autism you'll know exactly what I mean). Have asked for a replacement (refused) now have to drive all the way back for my 11 year old to get his birthday money back and buy from somewhere else.

Had been looking for a Model Train set and was convinced from web research that DCC was the way to go for a young novice modeller. Visited the local Antics and they had plenty of train stock but not the set I was after (which had apparently been discontinued) - so ordered the last one they had from the website, exactly what I was after and at a decent price. When it arrived the box was a bit faded and one loco was marked (nothing serious but not as perfect as I wanted for a gift). So I got in touch and quickly got a personal email explaining that the set had been on display in one of the shops but never used, if I wasn't happy with anything to drop it back to the shop for a full refund (but they couldn't swap the damaged item as it wasn't made any more). It was great to have a concise answer from someone who knew what had happened - web shopping can be so soulless.

After buying a faulty helicopter from another online retailer (Unfortunately I cannot names as Trustpilot will remove my Review), who’s only goal was to take my money and offer no customer support what so ever, Visiting Antics (Cardiff) was like a breathe off fresh air. The guys there were able to help prove that the helicopter I received was a manufacturer fault and the helicopter itself was of poor quality as they both had a wealth of knowledge with RC models and were extremely helpful. Like most people I initially chose to order online as the deals are cheaper but cheaper isnt always better and had I of known what I know now will all the problems I had with this other online retailer I wish I had gone to straight to Antics, as the guys couldn’t have been more helpful. This whole experience has definitely converted me to stop buying specialised RC models online and to support local hobby shops as they are not just in it for the money they have a general interest in RC models and have a ton of knowledge and advice to give to assist you with a purchase.
