Great idea earning money off your phone…

Great idea earning money off your phone bill on everyday purchases. The most important thing that lets it down, is when you have to use the link. I would if the link would come into view. Because every time I have to use the link I scroll up and the link goes back down so cannot be used which isn’t not useful. Also have to wait 90 days (3 months). Other then these issues, yes it is a good app.

Regarding the 90-day wait, this is in place to allow time for retailers to confirm transactions before rewards are paid, but we completely understand that it can feel like a long time to wait. Thanks again for your honest feedback, it really helps us improve the app.

Good company!

There are a lot of retailers from which to choose (although I sometimes forget to check) and Airtime regularly add new ones. I always use my rewards to reduce my mobile bill and it’s very easy to do.

Quietly, has slipped down the drain. Sad to see.

Quietly, it is simply no longer good. I have been using it many years, no issues with having to wait a bit for the money. All of a sudden, within the last few months, changes were to made to how much one can withdraw (down from 40 to 20, really???) and, when I went to check my balance I noticed 90% of the retailers I was getting money back from has gone. Zilch, nada, nothing. No more supermarkets, less money and, given the fact that it takes ridiculously long to get it to clear, it is quite offensive.
Shame on you, changes do happen sometimes, but the courtesy of an email to let customers know it was going down the drain (basically only high end or high street stores) would have been appreciated.

I recently had my credit card stolen…

I recently had my credit card stolen and it was used by the thief to buy £2179 worth of Airtime rewards, I’ve tried a number of times to contact them and alert them to the fraud but they have failed to respond to my emails and they have no phone numbers.

Well done Airtime for demonstrating that you couldn’t care less about fraud on your platform and your complete lack of care in helping me.

I’ve reported you to Essex police and action fraud and I will raise my concerns about your business practices with the FOS and department of justice and trade.

Rewards are fake. It’s a scam.

Have saved £30 on this app. Can’t collect it or redeem it for me. Only option is to gift it to another user, a complete stranger. No way of claiming these funds for me. This suggests that this service is misleading people as it advertises as money off your mobile bill. To enforce spending remains within the app shows there weren’t actuality any genuine rewards to claim at the time. They claim to be rewarding you but they’re only holding you captive for a fake reward you can’t cash out on. Worry not, this has been sent to advertising standards agency and to tele regulator as this behaviour whilst abhorrent could also be unlawful.

Poorly ran business, got your details now don't care

When it was working well,everything ran smoothly. Then transactions wouldn't track and the app wouldn't allow me to raise a missing transactions.

Raise a query, just take ages to get back to you and tell you to raise a missing transaction (I can't! The app won't let me!). After weeks of getting nowhere and being fobbed off I ask them to escalate to a complaint. They themselves gave a two week SLA to come back to me. Guess what? Nothing! I had to chase them up on their own complaints process and I'm still waiting to hear back from them a week on. Utterly useless where you cannot even trust what they say anymore.

Such a shame! Used to be great but gone down the pan. Avoid this company

Also don't bother asking for my details, you already have it, it's been escalated and still no one is bothering to respond, not even an empty courtesy reply like previous times .

We’d also like to clarify a couple of points that may help provide some context. Offer availability can sometimes change at the discretion of the retailers. Additionally, transactions that are missed and not reported within 45 days are unfortunately, no longer eligible for rewards, in line with our terms.

That said, we recognise that this doesn’t excuse the lack of clear communication or the difficulties you faced when trying to raise a missing transaction. We had added the missed rewards to your account when you initially contacted as a gesture of goodwill.

We’re sorry again for the inconvenience and for the time you’ve had to spend chasing this. Your feedback is taken seriously, and we are working to improve both our app experience and response times so this doesn’t happen again.

Well truly disappointed.

Well truly disappointed..
Hace your cards, and the last year keep going forward and backwards with Vicki.
Missing transactions . EBAY AND BOOTS.. Then want screenshots, 4 months is a lot of screenshots

Fed up ,will leave as I shouldn't have to stress about things that cant try and save me money.
Not got the tome or the energy when company's cant do there job properly !!

However you need to be consistent to build it up as they do monthly targets.

great idea if the shops are near you

the idea is great but if you live out in the sticks or maybe a town that doesn’t have an abundance of shops then it might be a small range of shops applicable to what you can get you money, for the ones that do work 99.9% is great but i did have one for quite a large amount but it didn’t show and when i raised a ticket they said it hadn’t tracked and i copied the link so there isn’t a lot i could do about that. but other than that its been great

Hadn't used too much as I rarely spend…

Hadn't used too much as I rarely spend money at the retailers in their network. Not impressed that my account was closed without warning with just under the minimum to cash out sat in the account plus an additional two transactions that were worth almost as much again that I did on the day they apparently shut my account. No response yet to my email asking for clarification of why the account was closed or whether I can transfer my info to a new account attached to a different mobile number.

Updated from 2 to 4 stars as it appears airtime support have now reinstated my account and the transactions I did last week have tracked. As I rarely use the stores in the airtime network it will take a while to accrue some cashback but any cashback is better than none in my opinion.

Why wouldn’t anyone join Airtime

Why wouldn’t anyone join Airtime. Using the cards in your Apple Wallet automatically registers a purchase made and if the shop supports Airtime you receive a percentage of that value to your airtime account.
To date I have had £75 taken off my EE mobile phone bill and have a further £16 available to use on my next bill.
Excellent easy to use way of saving - 100% recommend.

Not for me

I very rarely use the advertised outlets. Those that I have used no longer belong to the scheme. It takes years to get to the required £10 minimum reward to redeem.
I’m not keen on connecting my bank account to join their other scheme.
I wouldn’t have signed up had I known how limited the cash back was.

Little benefit, poor responses.

Does not pay enough to make it worthwhile, and you can only withdraw minimum £10 at a time. It takes me 18 months to rack up that much trough normal spending so the whole thing is almost pointless. I think it is a poor deal considering the financial benefit the company is likely to be getting from having access to my transaction data. I tried to close my account and have my data deleted for these reasons but I’m now on the second time of asking and they have completely ignored me.

Airtime is very unreliable!!

Very disappointed with Airtime & how unreliable it is!!
Recently made 3 transactions through the link, as advised & no sign of them on the app at all!
Also, a £2 bonus, which there is no sign of either!!
Rakuten is far more reliable & will choose them from now, instead of Airtime!
Update: Still waiting for April's transactions & bonus to appear on Airtime!!

Shocking Fraud Handling – No Protection, No Support

was scammed today for £200 through the Bits app, with the transaction going to Airtime Rewards Ltd. I did not authorise this payment at any point.

What is most concerning is that I actually spotted the transaction while it was still pending and blocked it immediately within the app, yet the payment was still processed and the money was taken anyway. This raises serious concerns about how secure this platform really is and whether user controls actually work.

I have absolutely no idea how this scam was carried out. I did not knowingly approve anything, and I have received no goods or services in return. This makes it clear that this was an unauthorised and fraudulent transaction.

Under the Payment Services Regulations 2017 UK, customers are entitled to an immediate refund for unauthorised transactions, provided they have not acted fraudulently or negligently. I acted quickly, responsibly, and took steps to stop the payment , yet it still went through.

What makes this even worse is the complete lack of customer support. Neither Bits nor Airtime Rewards provide a direct contact number. You are forced to rely on email support, which can take days or even weeks to get a response. That is completely unacceptable when dealing with fraud, where time is critical.

This experience has been extremely stressful and has also pushed my credit utilisation to 100%, which will now negatively impact my credit score.

Overall, this situation highlights:

1. Poor fraud prevention systems

2. Ineffective transaction blocking controls

3. Lack of urgent customer support

4. Failure to meet basic expectations
under Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) principles

I would strongly advise others to be cautious when using these services. Until this is resolved properly, I have no confidence in either company’s ability to protect its customers.

Okay, could be better

Been using Airtime for about two years now. When I first joined I earned quite a lot of cashback but this has slowed down with cutback after cutback and removal of retailers. Very frustrating some cashback takes 3 months to clear. However, it does feel nice when you're able to cash out and you see your mobile phone bill slashed. And nice to know you are talking to humans than bots/AI!

Time consuming and inaccurate

I have to keep a list of retailers used as every month as there are lots missing - particularly Ebay. Bonuses get missed, but I think this is because so many retailers don’t get registered automatically and then I do a ‘missed transaction’ and when it does get tracked it is registered as a bonus and not just a purchase and so it doesn’t get registered for the monthly bonus. If it wasn’t that it keeps my EE mobile bill reduced I wouldn’t bother with the system as it is very time consuming chasing and checking if transactions have been registered
