I had looked on the website the same day I went into store, where I was greeted by the wonderful Rebecca.
All my worries soon went away, and my feelings were validated.
Rebecca was on her own that day, and although the store wasn’t busy she went above and beyond my expectations.
Great customer service, great knowledge of the products, amazing compassion and care for me the customer.
Although facing her own health battles, was happy to help me into the car with my new scooter.

Our experience with Ableworld has been extremely disappointing.
We purchased a mobility scooter for my partner in August 2024 and have experienced ongoing problems with it ever since. The scooter has been returned for repairs on numerous occasions, yet each time it was returned, further issues seemed to arise. During this period, the store also appeared to have significant staff turnover among its mechanics, which did little to inspire confidence in the quality of the repairs being carried out.
After approximately a year of repeated faults, we were informed that the scooter was no longer covered by warranty and that we would be required to pay for repairs, despite the issues having first arisen during the warranty period. It was only after contacting Trading Standards that we were able to get this matter resolved and have the repairs completed.
More recently, my partner reported that the scooter seat had become increasingly unstable while driving. When he contacted Ableworld to raise this safety concern, he was told that because they had previously carried out several repairs without charge, they felt they had done enough and would not undertake any further work on the scooter.
The situation escalated to the point where my partner had to drive the scooter home with the seat turned approximately 90 degrees to the side, travelling very slowly in order to do so safely. This was both distressing and potentially dangerous.
With no support forthcoming, I was forced to dismantle and repair the seat myself. As a 53-year-old woman with very limited mechanical experience, I was able to identify and rectify the issue that multiple professional repairs had failed to address.
Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Ableworld. The repeated faults, poor aftercare, and refusal to address what we considered to be a safety-related issue have left us extremely dissatisfied.
For comparison, my father required an electric wheelchair following an amputation. Acting on our advice, he chose Eden Mobility instead. His experience has been entirely positive, and he has encountered none of the problems we have faced. On that basis, I would strongly recommend Eden Mobility to anyone seeking mobility equipment and after-sales support.

After purchasing a bathing cushion, I had a few issues with the item. I found ableworlds after sale care none existent. As soon as they took my money they didn't want to know. Very disappointing customer service. I would not return or recommend anyone i know to purchase anything from able worlds.

I recently visited this store to look for an indoor trolley for my mum. I was a little uncertain as to how to best approach this and was so grateful to be advised by Maryam. Quite simply, she could not have been more helpful, professional, practical and patient! Nothing seemed too much bother and only wish I could give her more stars! Thank you so much.

I have been shopping there for many years. The staff are always very helpful and knowledgeable and always available to give advice. On Monday I met with Shafiq a very pleasant youg man, helped me pick the items I wanted and arranged delivery. It is a good feeling when staff love there job. Would not shop any place else.

Just bought a Q50r Carbon from the Wigan branch. What a great experience Peter took loads of time with us to make sure we got the right power chair for my wife, he was friendly, polite and most of all very knowledgeable. He insisted that we even come back with our campervan to make sure it fitted where we wanted. Julie was also very helpful and they both made shopping with Ableworld a easy and pleasurable experience would recommend them to anyone.

Visited the Southport shop for a small purchase, but also planned to browse the shop.
Young man who served us was lovely, but I was dismayed to find the shop full of latex balloons! As a retired Nurse with a latex allergy (potentially fatal) I couldn't stay in the shop and had to leave without browsing. Disappointing to find a respiratory sensitiser in such a health-related shop. Potentially sensitising the staff who have to work in this atmosphere too...

I visited the Wigan store with my father in law due to issues with his scooter battery (we did not purchase the scooter from Ableworld). Peter who served us was very helpful and we can't thank him enough for testing the battery and sorting a new one for us which was also good value for money.

We went to the Burton on Trent store as we wanted information about a folding mobility scooter. Julie and Andrea were brilliantly entertaining and gave us some very helpful advice about their range. We had the opportunity to try them for size and found one that seemed to be perfect for our needs. We have already had our elderly parents whizzing up and down the driveway and if we need some more we wouldnt hestitate to go back and see the ladies again

Im just leting every one no how helpfull ableworld is i had a lot of problems with our stairlift at the time we had it for about 2 to 3 years it had broke down so many times i lossed count so we got fed up and i told the manager that im takeing it further so the head of the engineers steve took up our case and finally got it changed and thy came around and fitted it this mouth thy do care about there customers the staff are very friendly and there engineer are very helpfull and clean up after them selfs so i definitely recommend as thy sorted our prblem out thanks to steve and all the people that was involved

Due to not having a car, endeavoring to get to the showrooms of Ableworld in Broxburn necessitates in having to take three local Livingston buses and hope to coordinate connection times so you do not reach the showroom at closing time. Therefore I was very grateful to have been assisted on the telephone when I bought a walker, and to have it delivered to my house for a nominal charge. I was further delighted with the service I received later, when I erroneously thought a ramp would suit my doorway and walker. The delivery chap was most helpful and I had to realise my balancing is not au fait for a ramp. Ableworld were again helpful and agreed to cancel the order.And the delivery chap also adjusted the height of my walker which I had not guaged properly.So thank you, Ableworld!

Unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience with Ableworld stairlifts removal service. I liaised with them to remove a stairlift from my grandmother’s home, we emailed back and forth and built what I thought was a good rapport. They maintained we would receive a small sum of money on the day for the stairlift as it was only 4 years old, it was a model they sold and it was in good condition (they could tell this from photos I sent them). However, when the engineer came to dismantle it, he lied and said he didn’t think he could remove it as “they no longer sell this model”, which they do, this was confirmed by their customer service. He chipped the small sum of money we were to receive for it down to zero because of minor things like bolts needing tightening, it needing cleaning etc, which is absurd because you know they’re going to sell that chair second-hand for a lovely profit, but for some reason they didn’t feel fit to provide payment to us for the chair itself. They made us feel undervalued, uneasy and like we’d been conned. I complained and apparently it was going to get passed on to management and escalated…it hasn’t, as I haven’t heard a single thing. So my advice to anyone thinking of using Ableworld to remove a stairlift is don’t, they’re the We Buy Any Car of stairlifts, want the product but don’t want to pay the price and will lie to you to make you feel like they’re doing you a huge favour taking it off your hands.

visited Wigan store with my mum to try out Walkers and look at Scooters. Very friendly welcome from Peter, who ok a lot of time explaining the different walkers and what things to consider. There was no hard sell, mum was able to try out various walkers and decided on what was right for her. Would certainly recommend this store. Very friendly staff.

Horrified that any company would pass an electrical cable under carpet. Fire risk, potential trip risk and could mean your house insurance is invalid due to unsafe installation if a fire occurs and it is linked to your stairlift. Spoke to fire safety officer and manufacturer who both stated this is not safe practice. There will be vulnerable people potentially left with an unsafe installation who never gave the electrical connection a thought.. And why should they? That should be the job of a competent installer to ensure it is installed with regards to electrical safety as a matter of course. For transparency... West Lothian Council occupational therapist made fully aware of conversation with Fire Service and emails from Handicare, and quote provided by Ableworld was disallowed as being non compliant. Ableworld claimed this review was defamatory in an attempt to have it taken down or amended... This review was passed by trust pilot and stands as it was originally submitted.

I went to Ableworld with my Grandad on 20.05.2026 in Burton on Trent. We had no prior knowledge of mobility scooters but were aware my Grandad needed one, everything was explained to us in full and they spent a lot of time with us showing us how they worked, could be collapsed and explaining through all their products. We were helped by Julie and 2 gentleman when we were there, who were all lovely. My Grandad had been nervous and reluctant to go shopping for a scooter however, they made us feel so welcome and he came away with a scooter and feeling really happy. They have said they are happy to provide any assistance in the future. Cant fault this place :)
