Optima kept me informed every step and were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
I would definitely recommend them.

USELESS interactions with people who clearly do not seem to know what they are talking about.
I am remortgaging a loan and they are the conveyancing solicitors chosen by the mortgage broker/ new lender - not me.
TIME is the essence, I need to have a completion date very soon. Last hurdle: we need the redemption figure from my existing lender.. In order to gain time, I obtained the statement myself and uploaded it on the portal.. NO, they do not want it because it is written in my name (well, I am the customer!) and "not in the right format"!, despite the fact that this statement is totally valid and the figure is correct.
On the portal they wrote that they requested it on the 19th August (by fax as indicated by my mortgage broker???).. I phoned my existing lender.. They never received any request last week from OPTIMA, only this morning. So their update was incorrect.
They are wasting very valuable time.. it is going to cost me a fortune in the interim before the completion. One OPTIMA employee last week told me that it would take only a few days after they have received the Redemption Statement, the other employee this morning, told me "about 4 weeks"..
THEY ARE USELESS AND TIME-WASTERS.

UPDATING AFTER RESPONSE FROM OPTIMA LEGAL
1. You wrote a long paragraph explaining why you cannot accept my own requested redemption statement. Fine. That does not solve the rest of my complaint.
2. Why did you wait that long to request your own then??
3. Why did one of your employees wrote in my file on the 19th August that they requested it when THEY DID NOT!! My current lender NEVER received the request.
4. Current lender received the request yesterday at 8.22am ONLY, not before. I am pushing for them to send it ASAP but they have a 5 working days turnaround.. Hopefully they will send it on Friday.

I am NOT INTERESTED in your excuses and explanations as to why your staff is so incompetent.

I am INTERESTED in you making sure that my completion date happens on the 1ST SEPTEMBER 2026.. Try to push your co-workers to redeem themselves and sort it out.

All communications are done online via their system. There is no human contact whatsoever, and it is almost impossible to speak to a human when clarity is needed. It is a very impersonal, faceless process. They clearly do not want to have any contact with their clients. If I had a choice, I would not use them. The only good thing was the online dashboard to track the progress of our remortgage.

Job completed for remortgage, however there is very little pro-active chasing for documents etc, therefore weeks go by with nothing happening. Felt I was constantly chasing them. The portal is all good though and you can see everything. Just took so long for small jobs to be completed.

Quick and efficient with great communication

Optima were super efficient. I really wasn't expecting it as the conveyancing services came as part of a package with the mortgage product and our experience with this Inthe past has been a bit poor but they were really on it. If something was updated on the app that I'd miss they'd follow up with a prompt via phone, which helped keep things moving and we're also available to clarify anything or to help resolve any issues. 5 stars

From applying for the mortgage to the money arriving in our account, we were kept informed on what was happening every step of the way. We would definitely recommend using Optima.5/5.

Optima legal are a great company i have personally used myself. Many people expect a mortgage to go through very quickly and some do but there are some folks who forget to read the fine print in their mortgage documents at the very start and then are disappointed its taking longer. There are lots of checks that need to be done. Land registry, addiditional charges, other parties on the deeds, money laundering etc. Please keep this in mind. If the deeds are complicated and multiple parties are being contacted then optima will be contacting these parties. Contacting the other companies can cause delays as other companies, like a council for example have their own timescale they work too. Long story short if u read your documents you wont be disappointed if this happens, you will know whether optima legal are the ones for you.

Once AGAIN! I can't explain how useless this firm actually is... Trying to get my solicitors to communicate with you is like going back to the 1900s when they used horse carriages and they would get it done faster than these lot.. And the lies about not knowing me because of the previous reviews I've given our names and telephone number and that's enough. 3 months and your not even half way to getting this transfer of equity done.. 6 weeks it should take... This is my 4th bad review I can do this every week

Really easy to track your progress on the portal and upload files/documents. Responses from a solicitor were sometimes slow and to call was a bit of a long winded process to be able to speak to anybody - that could be shorter. Overall very happy with the experience and they handled my remortgage efficiently

Very easy process, never even needed to call or raise a question.

How they even get 1 star is beyond comprehension if only there was a minus grading, incompetence, delays, passing problems over to myself, (farmer not solicitor!)to sort out. Absolute disgrace of a company and will never use again.
Stress caused by missed completion and mortgage offer being out of timeframe has cost a fortune, now had to employ a private professional solicitor to pick up the pieces this shambles of a company have left behind.
Steer well clear, if offered free legal with these or have cash back take the cash!

Hands down the worst legal services I have ever used. Avoid them like the plague. All looks great to start, portal, ability to upload etc etc. Then you realize you cannot contact them apart from an anonymous message service which goes unanswered for days and weeks on end. A phone number on the website where you go on hold for hours on end. Different solicitors (if they even are) messaging “on behalf of” an anonymous person that I’ve never heard from. Opposing solicitors couldn’t get hold of them either. I was forced to use them by HSBC; and resent them for doing so. A simple remortgage and TR1 transfer took 4 months and cost me hundreds of lot thousands of pounds in excess costs. Beyond poor.
