2020 Warranty is an appalling company…

2020 Warranty is an appalling company to deal with. Their small print is endless. They would not evaluate the problem via the garage, had to wait a week for a independent surveyor to have a look at the car. Meaning my car was off the road for two weeks plus. The so called independent survey who was being paid by 2020 warranty couldn't find i quote "this fault is not a sudden component failure." As they couldn't get into the component a very interesting conclusion. Basically I would advise going to a more reputable company

1 star – 20-20 Warranty initially rejected the claim, then approved the repair, then refused to pay the real cost.

Very poor experience with 20-20 Warranty.

We purchased a commercial warranty (from the vehicle dealer when we purchased the truck for peace of mind) for our Iveco Eurocargo and made a claim for a failed exhaust brake actuator, which is listed as a covered component under the policy. Initially the claim was refused, even though the component is clearly listed as covered, and we had to contact them several times before they agreed to authorise the repair. This gave the impression that claims are rejected first and only reconsidered after repeated follow-up.

We followed their claims procedure exactly, obtained diagnostics from an approved repairer, and received written repair authorisation from 20-20 Warranty before any work was carried out.

Once the repair started, the garage had to dismantle surrounding components to access the actuator, at which point badly corroded fixings were discovered. This meant additional labour and parts were required to complete the authorised repair, something that could not have been known until the work began.

Despite this, 20-20 Warranty refused to increase their contribution and insisted they would only pay the original estimate, even though the repair could not be completed without the extra work. They relied on technical wording in the policy to limit their payment, even though the additional work arose directly from the repair they had already authorised.

We have tried to resolve this reasonably, but they have now stated this is their “final response” and will only pay a small amount which does not reflect the actual cost of the authorised repair.

We are now requesting their formal complaints procedure and, if the matter cannot be resolved fairly, we will be progressing the claim through the courts.

Based on my experience with 20-20 Warranty, I would not recommend anyone buying a warranty policy from this provider and would suggest looking elsewhere.

Simply the best

I have been dealing with these guys for some time now and running a Supercar business I needed a company I could trust and rely on and this company came to the party. Without doubt the best I have come across in the industry. Also if you are a dealer their system is so easy to use which is a must for for me.

Each case is individual

After an initial email that was a slight complaint 20 20 pulled out all the stops to put things right for us. Ours was an unusual case and the lady in question was very understanding helpful and cared about our feelings and concerns.they came back to me when they promised. My Experience with 2020 Warranty Support
Overview of My Warranty Claim 13/02/2026
I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the service I received from 2020 Warranty Support. My warranty claim, which was submitted in response to a sudden turbocharger failure, was denied without any clear technical evidence to support the decision. Throughout the process, the company’s explanation for the cause of the failure changed multiple times, creating confusion and uncertainty. Rather than providing a transparent and evidence-based assessment, they appeared to rely on broad assumptions and the opinion of the repairer.
When I requested supporting documentation and clarification regarding the distinctions in their policy, these requests were ignored. The final response from the company closed the discussion, indicating that my only remaining option was to pursue legal action. This rigid and dismissive approach has left me with the impression that customer concerns are not valued and that the claims process is lacking in both fairness and transparency.

Every single person who works for this company should be embarrassed of the choices they've made in life. Their Warranties literally are not worth the paper they are written on.

Buy a car with a 3 month warranty that breaks down immediately. Log with them immediately but can't get a garage appointment over Christmas so by the time I get a quote they reject it because it's taken longer than 30 days (Not my fault and you'd think anyone with even half a brain would give some discretion).
"No Problem i'm still well within my warranty period so just open a new claim"........"Ummmm Computer says NOOO"......"Escalate to management you say? We'll take 6 weeks to get back to you and still weasel our way out of paying anything because REASONS"

Companies like this give the insurance/warranty industry a terrible name. Avoid them like the literal plague at all costs.

Horrible company to deal with

Horrible, horrible, horrible company to have a warranty with. Main objective of this company is to take your money and pay nothing out.

I opened the case for an engine fault back in September and due to a business trip overseas I was delayed and take the vehicle to a mechanic for initial diagnosis so this company used this excuse of the delay to basically reject my engine problem claim

And when I ask them can I raise a second case so that it can be dealt with they said no because your initial claim was to do with an engine fault you cannot raise a second claim to be processed in other words you've lost your chance for that particular fault

Despite challenging the outcome they were determined to refuse the second claim citing all kind of clauses from the contract that I signed with them

In a nutshell this company is more about using the contract to challenge you and not to pay you that is the sole purpose of this company

Stay way away from them because once you start paying into the warranty monthly payments you cannot exit when things don't work out well with them and you'll end up paying for the rest of the year despite your unhappiness

Find another company.

UPDATE AFTER REPLY FROM COMPANY

As I stated you guys will find any excuse to get yourself out of a claim. When I did raise the question if I could raise another claim your reply was too late you can't claim again for the same problem

This shows that the intention is not to pay out at any cost by finding a clause in your contract or by simply rejecting every alternative

Having investigated your claim, we noted that your initial contact with us was on 19th August, when you reported the fault to your vehicle. At this point, you explained that you expected to get the fault investigated the following week. We provided you with the necessary information to pursue the claim, and awaited the responses from yourself. The next communication we received from you was on the 12th November, when we received your estimate. Unfortunately, as per the terms and conditions of your policy, this was out of the 30 day claim limit. We are very sorry that this was not the resolution that you would have liked. We always try to ensure that we support our customers to resolve their claims in positive way, however we do need to ensure that we stick to the terms and conditions of our policies. If you would like to discuss this matter further, or require any more information, we would encourage you to contact our support team, who are always happy to help where they can. Absolutely terrible warranty company

Absolutely terrible warranty company. Their warranty is not worth the paper it's written on.

Bought a 14-year-old car, for which they were willing to offer us their Silver warranty for 15 months. After 2 months it suddenly developed a knocking noise, which was diagnosed as a flywheel and clutch needing replacement - a £2K repair. 2020 refused to cover any of it, first saying it was "diagnosed during another repair" (we had to pay to get the glow lamps replaced ourselves because they didn't cover them). Before replacing the glow lamps, the garage diagnosed the clutch and flywheel issue. 2020 saying that they couldn't cover anything diagnosed during another repair is completely ridiculous. (Plus it wasn't during, but BEFORE the repair ).

Then they said it was "just a knocking noise and not a complete failure". When asked if they would cover if we had driven it until it was completely broken, they said No.

Next time we called them, they gave the excuse that it was "wear and tear" which they didn't cover. But on a 14-year-old car, everything is going to be wear and tear!!! Since it's an older car!!! IF THEY DON'T COVER WEAR AND TEAR, THEY SHOULDN'T OFFER WARRANTIES TO SECOND-HAND VEHICLES.
They said they only cover "sudden mechanical or electrical failure" - which since the knocking noise started suddenly, we assumed was what this was. But they gave every excuse under the sun to wriggle out of it and not cover a thing. Since it's knocking and not completely seized, they wouldn't cover it. But if it had completely seized up after being driven, they still wouldn't cover it. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. And how do you define whether something is wear and tear or failure?anyway??? it's not like it's tyres or brakes. It's an integral part of the engine!

No explanation other than the above pathetic excuses. No offer to pay for part of it. No goodwill gesture. No reply when I put in a complaint and dispute. No call back from management after it was requested. They didn't even refund our policy, or let us cancel it after 3 months and get a refund of the remaining 12 month period, because "the 14-day cooling off period is up" and apparently we should have noticed straight away that they didn't cover wear and tear and cancelled it sooner.

After having the misfortune to deal with this completely useless so-called warranty company, I would actually go so far as to say that they are contravening the Trades Descriptions Act and committing fraud. My husband is not the sort to take this lying down and we would like to take this further. Absolutely disgusted. Please do yourself a favour and stay well away from this company.

Do not use this company

This company is a scam if you purchase a warranty with this company you will get ripped off
I purchased a man truck with a 12 month driveline warranty when we came to make a claim they said it was wear and tear and our hgv garage clearly stated it was mechanical part failure and was under warranty this company took months to get to the decision of were not paying out they also instructed us to have the vehicle stripped down and they would cover this cost to be told today that there not paying for the stripping down or the part failure this is a very very poor service and I would recommend
using a different warranty company
