Good platform - lack of tax 'consultancy'

Great digital platform to run a small business from. Most of it is automated and works really well.
But what used to be an accountancy with good consulting advise has turned into a company offering a software platform. I do not feel that I get any serious tax advise that makes me optimise my business. Most of the interaction with accountants feels like speaking to juniors who run through a check list.
For the price they ask for this is a bit disappointing

Massively enjoyable brilliantly organised hiking trip in Albania

I had never done an organised hiking trip before and was not sure what to expect. Also I was not sure about Albania, based on some of the bad press we sometimes get.
Having said this, I had THE MOST AMAZING HOLIDAY in a while.

The 10 day point to point hiking trip was perfectly organised. Transportation was reliable and on time like clock work. Staff were super friendly.

Accommodation was fantastic, guest house hosts were super nice, food was fantastic.

Albania, especially hiking in the Northern mountains, is beautiful. We stayed in some absolutely magical valleys. But also the cities in Albania we saw were nice, as were the people.

Highly recommended as a travel destination and provider. We will certainly go with the guys again.

Carbon negative hosting and fantastic service!

Been hosting with GreenGeeks for years now, and while they are not the cheapest, whenever I had to deal with their support (technical and other) they have been excellent (fast, reliable and super on the ball).

Also, one key factors was that they are Carbon negative ("When we say that GreenGeeks is 300% Green Web Hosting Powered by Renewable Energy, what does that mean? It means that for every kilowatt of electricity that we draw from the power grid, we return three kilowatts in the form of wind and solar energy.").

Big fan of Starling Bank but have they grown too fast, and is their new CEO up to the task?

Big fan of Starling Bank since it's very early days.
I'm wondering, however, whether the new CEO Raman Bhatia is up to the task... Now, I know the story is always more complicated than it seems, but the bank has grown (too?) rapidly, and - it seems - struggled with scaling, as cutting corners (see recent FCA spanking) and much longer than before customer support wait times seem to suggest...
Reading today about a staff exodus after Raman Bhatia seems to force his workforce back into the office seem a heavy handed move to gain control (while most likely the corporate with to grow too fast was the culprit of that - even of Bhatia wasn't part of the company back then). However, I'm always worried about these signs, as they often are early indicators of 'enshittyfication' which would be a real shame....
So I hope CEO Raman Bhatia doesn't mess it up, and treads a bit more lightly, because, for us customers it's relatively easy to move and there is choice in the UK market...

Great online interface but service gets less slick / reliable once you have to speak to an accountant.

Great online platform (mid-quality over-all service)

Great online platform, but service beyond that, i.e. when you have to get in touch with an actual accountant, is not great.
E.g. emails only partially read / answered or not at all...
Feels like Crunch are more and more moving to an online only business with no personal touchpoints. This may be fine for the most basic of accounting needs, but if you need a tiny bit more, it can be quite tedious interacting with Crunch...

Best train booking app in UK

while still to expensive trainline the booking precess itself is great
much better than other services, luke booking directly woth lmao

I dont feel though I should have to pay a booking fee. Ultimately it's just another sales channel.

Love Crunch

Love Crunch!
I run a small Limited Company as IT contractor and this makes my life much easier. Crunch are super responsive, very helpful, nice to deal with. Can only recommend.
