Reference to N/T car trader response to my review in January 2,2026.

I stand by my original review dated January 2, 2026 and I do not accept the response from NT Traders LTD T/A The Car Traders, as it is factually incorrect.

The vehicle in question was a White Mercedes C-Class Premium Plus 2017, sold via Motorway, with the transaction completed at £10,800, not £11,500. Your claim that the highest bid for this vehicle was £5,100 is frankly laughable and clearly incorrect. This figure appears to be confused with another vehicle entirely, which raises serious concerns about your record-keeping and honesty.

For clarity:
• The car was placed into auction
• Your company bid on the same day
• Your bid was accepted, despite the vehicle being reserved at £12,100
• On the same day of collection, you listed the car on your own website for £13,000+
• The vehicle has since been sold, which makes your claims even more questionable

I am not interested in hearing excuses about “fees” after the fact. Any professional trader should account for all costs before bidding. Attempting to retrospectively shift responsibility onto the seller is unacceptable and could easily leave sellers out of pocket if they are pressured into agreeing.

The fact that your public response contains such blatant inaccuracies suggests this is not a one-off mistake but a pattern of behaviour. Misrepresenting figures to cover tracks only reinforces my experience of this company as unreliable and dishonest.

I would never deal with NT Traders LTD again and would strongly warn others to be cautious if they do not want to risk losing money.

Clarifying How Our Vehicle Purchasing Process Works

John, we categorically reject the allegation that our response contained inaccuracies or that there has been any attempt to misrepresent figures.

All bids placed through Motorway are recorded and visible within the platform system. The figures referenced in our previous response were taken directly from auction data available to us at the time. There is no benefit to us in “confusing” vehicles or misquoting numbers, and we take record-keeping seriously.

When purchasing through Motorway, bids are placed based on the information provided in the listing. As is standard industry practice, vehicles are often listed in advance within internal stock systems and sometimes on websites as incoming stock. This does not indicate wrongdoing or misrepresentation. Pricing reflects preparation costs, overheads, warranty provision, VAT obligations, and market positioning. It is entirely normal for retail pricing to differ from auction purchase prices.

It is also important to clarify that sellers are never forced to proceed. Any adjustments discussed during collection are based on inspection findings and remain optional. The seller always retains the right to decline.

We strongly refute the suggestion of dishonesty or any “pattern of behaviour.” We have been trading for over 11 years and have sold more than 18,000 vehicles, operating within established consumer and trade regulations. Allegations implying misconduct are serious and should not be made lightly.

We respect your right to share your opinion. However, we stand by our processes, our documentation, and our compliance with Motorway’s auction procedures.

Future sellers are encouraged to review how auction platforms operate and understand that purchase price, fees, preparation costs, and retail pricing are separate elements of the motor trade business model.

We remain confident in our professionalism and integrity.

I recently purchased a car from Toyota Waterlooville and had a very positive experience. From the initial enquiry to the final handover, the process was efficient, well organised, and accommodating.
The car handover was smooth and explained clearly, and the level of customer service throughout was outstanding. A special mention to Louis, who provided excellent support during the purchase — professional, approachable, and extremely helpful.

The location is easy to find

The location is easy to find, and availability is high. However, the registration area is somewhat disorganized. Once registered, others may cut ahead if you leave for the restroom, as examinees are not called by their assigned numbers. Despite this, the overall experience was positive, with quick results.
