Zing operators lie and don't care about customers
You didn't tell me when they would be arriving, or how many even though I explained my illnesses to you. You told me one thing was happening then the workers turned up to do something totally different. I wouldn't recommend you to anyone. Your call operators do nothing but lie and aren't helpful at all.

Zing are extremely helpful
Zing are extremely helpful. Had an issue with my solar panels due to a wiring issue. Zing were marvelous came out and sorted the problem the boys who came out were friendly and got the job done quick and efficiently. They made sure everything was working as it should before leaving.

Once installation is done you’re on your own
Just moved into a property that had the solar and heat pump installation through a government grant two years ago.
I am astonished that the installation was approved by the person in charge as it is absolutely awful.
Radiator pipework has been drilled through an existing architrave and then connected to the radiator at the top and bottom instead of it just being at the bottom.
The water tank is far too large for the cupboard in which it is installed so the doors cannot close and are permanently open.
The system has had a leak in the loft for a while and only noticed because no there’s a hole in the ceiling.
Electrics inside the cupboard have just been connected into a junction box and left laying on the water tank.
I contacted Zing to see if the install could be moved into the garage as every other property in my close has had done and was told no. The previous owner had agreed the install and signed it off and as far as they’re concerned it’s not their issue.
Well if getting someone close to 70 years of age to agree on an install that is so not appropriate for the property is their only back up then I would avoid Zing at all costs.
Indeed I would go as far to say that their contracts to install any grant related work should be taken from them and never be reinstated.
I have tried several local contractors and none of them want to touch the install.
Following this post I received a response from Zing clarifying the installation date and that no concerns were raised at the time regarding the installation.
That does not absolve you from installing a system that has glaring no no’s. I have been in various trades over the years and none workman I have ever worked with would have carried out work in the manner it has in this house.
If the previous owner was told that the installation had to be done that way why would she have questioned it?
The hot water cylinder is too large for the cupboard in which you installed it. Why has this been done and not queried by the contractor, not the customer?
There is a radiator with its pipes drilled through the architrave at an angle at two separate heights. Why was this approved by the company?
It seems to me that Zing employed sub contractors with little or no experience in installations.
Nobody from Zing would have been to the property to sign off any works and if they did then they are complicit in this mess as much as the contractor who installed it.
Any company worth anything should rely on its reputation for quality work, not rely on the fact that nobody queried it before the warranty period expired.

To clarify, this installation was completed in January 2023 and was signed off at the time, with no issues reported to us during the workmanship warranty period.
We understand you contacted us recently regarding the location of the unit and a leak in the loft. As these concerns were raised outside of our workmanship warranty period, we explained that we were not in a position to carry out further works and recommended contacting a qualified local engineer or contractor to inspect the system and advise on the best course of action. Ongoing servicing and maintenance are also important in identifying and preventing issues over time.
We appreciate that this may be frustrating. However, we do want to ensure the situation is represented accurately. If you would like to discuss the matter further, please contact us directly and we will be happy to review the correspondence with you.

The work was carried out efficiently, the contractors who came were polite, helpful and kept me informed on what needed to be done in my home.

Happy with the workers and the job they’ve done
Happy with the workers at my home. Quieter and politer than blokes on a roof can be expected to be in the miserably cold weather. The solar panels will take some getting used to but everyone’s in the same boat and they’ll my bills easier so I’m very pleased.

Zing went the strings of my heart.
Everything from the my initial application has gone smoothly. Zing were polite, efficient and everything went along smoothly, they organized a surveyor to the property to evaluate what and where installation was needed. They informed me when installation was due and this was prompt. Their contracting team of craftsmen including Gas fitters, Electricians roofers etc were all first class. I would highly recommend Zing as a company. You can’t get better.

Heat Air Pump
I contacted Zing on 02/10/2025, after my heat air pump had been serviced, with some issues highlighted in the engineer's report. The Air Pump was not level, some wires inside had not been correctly dealt with and the hole through the wall had not been filled in correctly.
All these issues have now been sorted to my satisfaction.

Zing installed an Air source heat pump…
Zing installed an Air source heat pump and solar panels at my mother's property. Properties need to be well insulated for this type of system to work economically. They identified at the outset that there may be a need for further roof insulation. No additional insulation was provided even though there is clearly a need for it. Trying to get an answer from them was difficult and the last piece of advice they gave was to contact some local company to provide the insulation. I've tried doing this ie contacting a local company but I've had no joy with the most local outfit saying they were just inundated with work. So, I am left in limbo and another autumn and winter is fast approaching.

Under the ECO scheme, we installed every grant-funded measure we could in November 2023 - including your air-source heat pump and solar panels. The loft insulation at the property met the scheme’s minimum criteria, so the top-up we recommended to optimise efficiency isn’t covered by funding.
We’re willing to take on this additional work, but distance and overheads would make it disproportionately costly for you, so we suggested local specialists to keep the price down. We’re sorry if that reasoning wasn’t clear at the time.
Next step: It’s disappointing that local suppliers have remained fully booked. If that’s still the case, we’re happy to step back in and arrange the work ourselves.

Where things stand:
We don’t take payment at this early stage. Our Accounts and Customer Experience teams have double-checked every record and see no sign that any payment has been taken.
As we discussed by phone, we’re waiting for the proof of payment you mentioned (e.g. a statement or receipt). With that, we can trace the transaction and refund it immediately if it’s linked to us or an approved partner.
Next steps
Once we receive your evidence, we’ll finish the investigation and call you with the outcome.
Separately, we’re rolling out clearer milestone updates so every customer can follow the timeline from grant application to installation. We know the process can feel slow, and we’re committed to making it more transparent.
Thanks for your patience while we get to the bottom of this. We’ll update this reply as soon as we have the facts.
Very hard working and a good job done
I had External Wall Insulation, Solar panels, a heat-pump and boiler installed. I was not expecting a great service/job based on passed experience with various types of labourers, but the quality of work with Zing restored my faith that there are very good workers out there. They all worked like Trojans and did an excellent job.
