Will Yuup learn the error of their ways like Scrooge?

Awful company. Zero customer service and send out blanket nth hour emails about them contractually enforcing a no refund policy. First time ever booked through this company and will avoid in the future. They cancelled 4 Christmas Carol shows in Nottingham in December over the weekend and replaced them with ‘tba something in March and November 2025’. Details unknown. Is this done simply to avoid paying out for refunds? This was meant to be a family festive show so why is March and November 2025 acceptable? Both Yuup, Celestial and Trent Bridge Cricket Ground need to do the right thing and get their heads together to resolve this matter. Perhaps claiming on their own event insurance policy would be wise.

Opened a dispute with my bank. They have been amazing I recommend anyone affected requests a refund from their credit card company /bank. At least my reasons like so many are completely valid.

Raised a complaint with Celestial (drone show) who actually have a phone line and pledged to follow up with me in an hour about this whole fiasco. I reminded them that all this could be damaging to their reputation so to pick their partners more wisely.

……stop press ….After so much groundswell Yuup have now finally relented and agreed in principle to a refund us but that was after local media pressure (thank you Radio Nottingham) and that many reviews / complaints to Celestial and Trent Bridge. Business school address HOW TO COLLAPSE YOUR BUSINESS OVER A WEEKEND by CEO Dominic Mills beckons! 😂🤣

Absolutely disgusting company. They leave it till the 11th hour to tell people the Christmas Carol drone show in Nottingham is cancelled with a comment that an alternative date would be given by 3pm but nothing came. They have taken everyone's money and no change of a refund. How the hell have they such good reviews up till now. Scammers

Do not book with this company - absolute scam agents - show moved to contingency dates then completely cancelled and now refusing to refund as there are future shows (not the same) to transfer to. I can feel a long fight coming on.

Same as several others on here. Booked a Christmas Carol drone show 6 months in advance as the date fell on my birthday. Understandable that the weather has caused a postponement but no option of a refund just an alternative show in March or November which is unacceptable, I bought tickets for that show, not a different show at a different time of year. Will not use again.

If I could give a 0 star I would. They postponed the Christmas carol drone show on Saturday 7/12/24 due to weather which was understandable. But then said we had to go on Monday 9/12/24 which they classed as contingency day. Most people wouldn’t be able to make it due to it being a work/ school day. Wouldn’t offer a refund. They then cancelled the Monday which we had been changed to and said we can transfer the tickets to shows next year in March & November. I’ve emailed to say I would like a refund as I don’t want to transfer to another show next year. They are ignoring the emails now. Disgusting behaviour from the company. Will never use this company. Just give every one who had tickets a refund!

Scammers- no customer service whatsoever

Scammers. Take your money and change T&Cs accordingly. We booked the Christmas carol drone display for last night which understandably due to weather was postponed. Again nothing about refunds- March isn’t a Christmas carol date that week booked. No information, awful customer service. No way to contact them other than an email that gets read and then ignored. Cancelled Drone Show due to severe weather.
Ignored requests for refund.
Kept claiming they that 'contingency dates' were in terms and conditions at point of booking. They weren't ...this was added at a later date!
Contingency dates cancelled and now STILL refusing to refund customers, instead saying we can 'transfer booking to 2025' dates!!!
Quite apt that the show the drones were going to put on was ' A Christmas Carol' as this company epitomises SCROOGE!

Avoid, Avoid, avoid!

Disgraceful, show postponed understandably due to weather, was moved to a date and time didn't ask for & was unable to make due to commitments. Emailed them asking for a refund, refused to issue a refund. So many disappointed people have paid to see the show, must be making thousands off people by not refunding. Unethical - first time ever booked with them will never book again. Don't even deserve the 1 star rating.

Yuup? More like NOPE

All businesses should know rule number 1 of a successful business - customers come first. Unfortunately for ‘yuup’ they missed this memo and couldn’t give two hoots about their customers being done out of large sums of money just before Christmas with absolutely nothing to show for it.
They will e mail you back once (to basically tell you they don’t care if you can’t make the new date of a cancelled event) then they ignore all further correspondence and keep your money.
Avoid like the plague unless you enjoy disappointment.

Would not touch with a barge pole

***DO NOT TOUCH WOULD NOT RECOMMEND***
Although I fully understand that the weather is changeable and there is no way to control this, however we booked our show for the “Christmas Carol Drone Light show at Trent bridge” in July and was due to attend Saturday the 7th of December. As non local residence to Nottingham with split parental responsibilities and children with additional needs last minute changes are not always viable. We understand that this may happen however as many have already stated our options for Monday with gates start times of 1630. To any sensible person/company they would have realised that for the majority this is not viable, however the organisers approach is attend the Monday show, go to Brighton or Bristol (as if that’s a suitable compromise) or defer until they are next in Nottingham however based on the reviews posted via this and other social media platforms it is unlikely that we will want to go. As a party of 9 we have been told that our nearly £200 will not be refunded and as such the above options are the only way forward.
I feel it is unfair that this organisation can set up an event and point blank refuse to reimburse those of us who are now out of pocket. All necessary steps have been taken to address this through the official channels such as our banks and trading standards due to the lack of support from this organisation. You should be ashamed.

Drone show no go

We had booked a drone show in Nottingham in July for their December show, A Christmas Carol, due to the storm the event was cancelled and they advised they would be moving all tickets to their contingency date, great we thought, Sunday would be difficult, but do able. However, unbeknown to us, they had funnily enough thrown in a new date, 24hrs before cancellation, for the following Monday which we have now all been transferred too. Monday is not do able for us, it’s a school night, work night (I work until 19:30) and we are not local. A full refund should have been offered. The alternative date was not available when we booked and to now be forced on to it, or loose our money is unfair. This is a joke of a company who are taking peoples cash via their apparent “T&C’s” which they seem to change and twist as they see fit. Stay away from their events.

They are SCAMMERS

They are SCAMMERS! Do not waste your money as they are not refunding, not responding and cancelling shows. They don’t have customer service, and they stole my money saying they can’t refund, the show cancelled. Disgraceful company

Disgraceful company. Changed their terms and conditions at last min. We have gone back and checked and no other dates mentioned when we booked. The Nottingham drone night cancelled tonight and automatically rearranged for Monday which seemingly hardly anyone can make but the option for a refund hasn’t been offered. Apparently now non refundable. Advertised seats available for Monday before they even swapped all seats. Now they ignore all emails and messages and no other way to contact. I would avoid at all costs and hopefully Notts cricket club and other venues see this and think twice. Disgraceful. Reported.

THEY cancelled the drone show at Nottingham and rescheduled for Monday but unfortunately we are all at work so can’t go but no refund even though it states on their FAQ that if they cancel you will be offered an alternative date or refund !!!

Pathetic customer service

Pathetic customer service. This company have cancelled a show in Nottingham on Saturday evening and automatically transferred my 4 tickets to Monday night with a show starting at 1730.
As all of those attending are at work and wouldn't be able to get to the venue for the required time a request for a refund was made and refused.
Out of pocket and awaiting replies to emails.

Update
They have now cancelled all shows including the alternative dates and have said ticket holders are going to be able to transfer to future events in March or November 2025.
Just provide a refund and I will decide if I want to book to see a future show.

Following the reply it's not disappointment at the cancellation of the event. It's the attitude and conduct of Yuup after the cancellation.

Changed a Saturday afternoon event to a Monday evening with no option to refund. We can not attend on a Monday evening and have now lost the money for 5 tickets. Dreadful customer service and will not be booking with this company again.

I’m unsure what is so difficult with this statement: If you catastrophically fail to deliver a service, Customers are reimbursed.

UPDATE - I assume you’re referring to the email that was begrudgingly sent only after threats from Customers and associated institutions to expose your appalling attempt to mess with T&Cs and dodge reimbursing innocent customers? The same email that came right after someone provided a suspiciously glowing review under the name "Cheryl" to deflect a tidal wave of negative feedback here? That email? Yuup. Got it.

vouchers expired - no extension

*UPDATE* - I reached out immedialy following the response below and I have had no email or reply whatsoever. Very poor and somewhat cynical.

*ORIGINAL POST* - I was unable to use the vouchers I was bought before the expiry date. Clearly the vouchers are not perishable goods so I reached out to ask if they could be extended. I was met with absolutely inflexibility and no way this could be done.

If the point of yuup is to foster local independent businesses and I am still keen to use the vouchers and spend that money at those businesses then why can the vouchers not be extended? Is it perhaps because actually yuup is all too happy to take the money for the vouchers and not have to share the income with those businesses?

Seems like a fairly unethical approach to what is a fairly simple request and that is in line with yuup's ostensible mission as a business.

Unclear and Unhelpful

Unclear and not very helpful.

Despite advertising, booking and charging for a product, what isn't clear is that you're essentially just making an enquiry to the host, who might then not accept the booking with little notice.

I booked and paid for a session on a Friday, for the following Monday morning. Received no confirmation or response over the weekend (fine if they're not open, but the advert should clearly state this) and then a cancellation notice just over an hour before the session with a note saying that they weren't actually running weekday sessions!

The host blamed Yuup, whilst Yuup blamed the host. Lots of excuses about it being booked on a Friday and no one being available on the weekend - but little acknowledgement of the fact that both parties were responsible for setting up a booking process which allows and encourages this! They advertised and took money for a session which didn't exist and then accepted little responsibility.

I wouldn't use Yuup again, it just doesn't feel like a professional and organised service where you can rely on the information. At the very least to protect themselves and the customer Yuup should be requiring hosts to accept or decline a booking with at least 24 hours notice and/or closing bookings where they know no one will be available to respond - you can't expect customers to base travel plans on having paid for a 'possible, subject to confirmation an hour before' booking! Especially when you send the customer T&C's which outline the disruption cancelling or arriving late causes!!!

Very frustrating.
