Terrible company to deal with

Terrible company. Ordered South African wine gums, they sent me UK wine gums. Raised a Paypal case, to be told I have to pay for the return postage, which is the majority of the money owed back to me. Absolutely terrible - zero comms from the seller at all.

I will never deal with these people again, and would say the same thing to anyone wanting to. They are one of the worst organisations I have dealt with.

Edit - now they are sending me these pathetic emails:

We kindly ask you to remove this review within the next few hours. If not, we will have to forward the matter to our legal representative, PayPal and His Majesty’s authorities.

PayPal specifically contacted us and asked whether we would accept the return. We confirmed immediately that of course we would. PayPal then informed us that you decided not to return the item, and for that reason the case was closed in our favour.

Posting a negative review after refusing the return that PayPal requested is not permitted under their rules or His Majesty’s consumer regulations. It is considered defamatory when the platform already made a final decision.

Please remove the review as soon as possible to prevent this from escalating further.

If they think they can threaten me like this, they have another thing coming. They also lie - Paypal refunded me. Paypal and Trustpilot are not connected, so there is absolutely no way that they can influence Paypal at all. Lies and poor customer service. Yet more evidence to avoid this organisation.

Just like the previous reviewer, they threatened to post a screenshot of the transaction with my name and email address on it - they had better have a great legal team if they do that.

Remember - all this because they are incapable of sending out the correct items, or did they try to rip me off by shipping inferior products - seems the latter could indeed be the case.

They say they responded immediately to the Paypal claim - another lie - I have evidence that they took over a week to get any kind of resolution, thanks in no small part to this seller, not contacting me directly at any time.

Message to the seller - why not issue a full apology for the mess you (and only you) have created - it would look much better for you if you do. Advertising one thing and sending another is actually illegal, even internationally- food for thought!

Edit 2:

They have eventually refunded me, although it was not an easy transaction at all. I have to be fair here though, and mention that they have refunded me - admittedly for an issue that was all their fault, but even so. They were still exceptionally bad to deal with, with lots of lies and threats, so this review stands as caution to any other buyers that prefer their deals to be honest and professional.

Anyone who thinks Beacons Maynards and Bassetts Maynards are the same have got no idea what they are talking about. They have CLEARLY not tasted both, or they would never make such a stupid comment. The recipes are completely different.

False pictures / advertisement

I ordered some trebor mints as the picture clearly displayed the blue trebor spearmint, this flavour is rather hard to find hence me even ordering from Portugal for UK delivery.

The website address for that product also specifically states "trebor-extra-strong-spearmint-roll"
Nowhere in the item description does it state that it would be anything other than what I'd expect to be delivered.

Once the item arrived it was infact not the correct item, there was a box of xxx trebor peppermint mints.
I reached out to support to be told that, "you received what you ordered." and that "manufacturer sometimes make changes to packaging" with no subsequent replies.

Had I of known this is what I was ordering I would not have ordered at all. I could go get these mints anywhere in the UK for a fraction of the price.

In retaliation it appears that they have decided to post my full name and address in response to the review which is in clear violation of GDPR and their own privacy policy which is an interesting strategy.

They have changed the website listing now showing that the product could come differently but unforunately they are claiming that it stated this prior to ordering. (it didn't)
Fortunately I have documentaion of the websites in it's two different states before ordering and after.

Claming that I refuse to return the item is strange considering a return or refund hasn't even been discussed, just a way of attempting to discredit what I have to say.

AVOID! Wrong Product Sent False Legal Threats and Poor Conduct

I ordered 3 boxes of Krave Dark Chocolate (410g) from Yum Biltong and after a 3-week delay received Krave Milk Chocolate (375g) instead — a completely different flavour and smaller weight. I was never informed of any substitution, and the seller could not provide proof that any notification was sent.

They later blamed my opting out of marketing emails, even though product substitutions are transactional updates, not marketing. They then referenced their terms of service to justify the switch, despite those terms only allowing substitutions when a product is discontinued or out of stock. This is effectively a bait and switch.

The seller initially offered £1.50 per box in compensation but only refunded £3.00 instead of £4.50. When I raised the issue, they ignored it and refused to provide a prepaid return label, even though the error was theirs. They also made false legal threats, claiming I could face €5,000 in legal fees for opening a PayPal dispute — an intimidation tactic with no basis in PayPal policy or UK consumer law.

I escalated the issue with PayPal, who reviewed the evidence and ruled in my favour, confirming that the item was not as described. Despite this, the seller has since had my previous Trustpilot review removed, calling it defamatory, even though everything stated was factual and supported by documentation.

Constructive feedback:
• Do not substitute products without consent
• Ensure refund amounts are correct
• Provide prepaid return labels when the seller is at fault
• Stop using legal threats and misleading terms to silence customers
• Focus on transparency and accountability in customer service

This experience showed a clear lack of integrity and professionalism. I would strongly advise others to avoid this retailer.

Avoid using this company

Avoid using this company, they send you less items than are ordered and only refund the item cost, they do not compensate for the difference in packaging, then when some of items arrive damaged (bottles broken and unusable). Two months later all they have done is to refund the cost of the missing bottle at a basic £7. After sending a full statement and multipl3 sets of photographs that appear to have taken no action or responsibility for claiming the costs back from the courier, as a result my £7 bottles of juice have cost me £14 each including packaging, rather than £10.50 each including packaging had the correct number been sent and arrived intact.
The damage was to the bottom of the parcel, the parcel was on the ground and as the photo taken by the courier was from above no damage is showing. It was only when picking up the parcel the damage was discovered. Royal Mail will only consider a claim from the shipper not the customer and they say no claim has been made.

They provided clear photographic proof showing the package was delivered undamaged and intact to Cornflower Avenue, Peterborough, addressed to you, Karen Waller. We shared these same photos with you. Royal Mail confirmed no breakage, no leaking, no crushed sides, and therefore no grounds for any damage claim.

You were fully refunded for the one missing item, exactly according to Royal Mail and consumer-rights guidelines. That part of the case was handled immediately.

You have edited this review multiple times, adding statements that were never mentioned in your emails or messages to us and that do not match Royal Mail’s official findings.

We have followed every procedure correctly, refunded where appropriate, and handled your case transparently.
Reviews should reflect what actually happened — not repeated changes that contradict the courier’s verified investigation.

For anyone reading:
You can enter tracking CE010218705PT on Royal Mail’s website to see the delivery confirmation and photo. Royal Mail did not open any claim because the parcel was delivered fully intact, and they declined any suggestion of damage.

As our regular customers know, if anything is ever missing from an order, we refund it. In this case, even though the courier confirmed everything was intact, we still issued a partial refund to be fair.
We cannot refund Royal Mail’s money when they have supplied evidence that everything was delivered correctly. Royal Mail refused the claim, and we cannot override their decision — shifting their refusal onto us as BAD makes no sense.
