My previous pair of boots were made in the USA; the ones I have bought are made in China - somehow the product ain't quite the same even though the price remains as high... A bit like realising Blunstones boots are made in Asia vs Hobart.

It's not even about the quality of the product. It's about expectations, satisfaction and buying into a lifestyle brand. I need to feel like I'm going to board an Alaskan trawler hunting king crab and noble halibut; not a rust-bucket of boat catching tuna for the canning industry out in the Pacific maned by desperate, sweaty guys working on slave labour wages. ( I know what I'm talking about cos I've experienced and filmed on both these types of fishing vessels...).

If I want that kind of disappointing customer shopping experience I can go to Walmart or my local hardware store and get a pair of budget-priced boots that will last me just as long.

I was a little disappointed by the service before receiving my purchase. However now that they have arrived, I am very happy with my order! The wheelhouse boots and Homer slippers that I ordered look amazing and are very comfortable. I am size 8 and ordered size 8 and the fit is great! I work as a commercial skipper and diver and so they will make my life a lot easier and warmer in the coming winter!

This is the second time I've purchased a pair of boots from you and had to send the first pair back as they were the wrong size.I ordered a second pair and they are also the wrong size.Do you have a surplus of size 11you are trying to get rid of.I was desperate for boots so I am now sliding around in these.Nobody enjoys or has the time to keep sending things back so please get this sorted for future customers.Such a shame as the boots look like they would great if they fitted properly.Just a reply from your response.The size on the boot is an 11 also and also on the insole.

So, I was a loyal customer of xtratuff boots for the past 15 years. I recently bought 2 pairs of the legacy boots and within a couple months the 1st pair fell apart. I was at work so I threw that pair away and started using my second pair. I have never had a problem in 15 years, never asked or returned any boots before. I emailed xtratuff and they said without returning the defected boots they couldn't help me. They are a good boot, but they need to work on their customer service. I will be looking at wearing a different boot and would tell anyone else who wears them to think about a different boot if they care about how they get treated after being a loyal customer to a company like xtratuff. Thank you

Shoes arrived when promised, look fantastic (excellent quality too)

So comfy, so waterproof, so fun. I love them. They're absolutely perfect to pull on and run out and they fit beautifully. I can't wait to wear them for years.

Hope this is a one off story. I really loved the shoes when I saw them at a show, but they didn’t have my size so told me to buy them online. I did, and ordered a 7.5. When they arrived they were sold as a 7.5 on the paperwork but the shoe itself said 7. This (7) was the size I’d tried on in person and still did not fit, obviously.

Xtratuf replied - after a second prompt - with a very kind email and free return label to print off. This was much appreciated. However the reason this gets a one star is they wouldn’t send me the size I’d paid for. They asked me to wait for a refund and re purchase a new pair online.

So my overall experience was one of disappointment. I’m not going to risk buying them online in case the same thing happens again. I had to pay, wait in for the delivery, print off the label (I don’t have a printer) and go to the post office to send back again - all these and no beautiful shoes to show for it.

That being said I really loved the shoes and would buy them again if I saw them in a store.

The sizing of their footwear is off. Order one up from your normal size or your toe will be bashing against the end. I'm a UK size 8 in every piece of footwear I own, from all manner of different brands, and the Xtratuf was way too small.

What's disappointing is that this isn't made clear on their website and free returns are not available if the shoe/boot doesn't fit.

I contacted their customer service dept to see if I could get free return and they said that it's not their fault, so postage needed to be paid. They appear to be in denial that they have an issue.

Shame as the quality of the product looked really good and was exactly what I was looking for.

This is my second purchase from Xtratuf and I am a convert. Well made and very neat looking when they are worn. Wish they would expand their range of footwear then I wouldn’t need to look elsewhere.

Great boots delivered promptly. They are very comfortable to wear and hopefully they will last a long time. Only time will tell with regards to longevity/
