Exceeded our expectations of Specialist Healthcare

Willows Specialists have exceed our expectations in healthcare for our Springer. We were referred here by our primary vet and were immediately booked in for an appointment to see the Specialist. The staff here are incredibly helpful and friendly. A special mention for Sue on reception for being so calm and reassuring us that we were in safe hands. We absolutely were!!!! The amazing facility is spotless and Fernanda and the ECC team went out of there way to ease some of the worries we've had about our pup and we are so thankful! We will definitely be coming here for now on.

The worst vet you can go in the area

The worst vet you can go in the area. Please stay away from those people!!! My pet at end was in a very poor condition because of them. They don’t know what they’re doing.. they don’t care about the animal at all, it just about money. I usually don’t write reviews.. my intent is to alert people about this place. I wished I’ve read a review like this before I went. They missed diagnosed my pet, gave them a medication which made his skin worse, he lost most of his fur because of it.. they referred him to a vet dermatologist which confirmed medication Willow gave it made my pet skin worst. Spoke to willow to put a complaint and they sent us a letter forbidding us to use them again ever for both of our pets. Basically you can’t complain even though they almost killed my pet. Willow management are liars that don’t know how to manage anything

Took my dachshund to see them in there…

Took my dachshund to see them in there for 15 to 20 minutes was a waste of time as told what my normal vets had already told me and charged £637 I thought footballs where on good money but vets are paid a lot play on peoples emotions because they love there dog make sure you get a price before you go near this place .

Please Do Not Use This Money Making Machine

This Company is purely money driven. Their modern exterior building suggests modern Care of the highest clinical standards. This is not the case. At night they have more receptionists and back office staff than they do ‘qualified’, English speaking Vets. Foreign Interns must be a cheaper option but they certainly are programmed to discuss money before the needs of the animal. They profess ICU wards, which again suggests thorough care. When visiting our poor cat we were presented with encrusted eyes, dirty mouth which had drooled onto her paper collar and her feet appeared at one point to have been buttoned together. After forty minutes of waiting our cat was brought into a room set at 18 degrees even though we were told she was hyperthermic just three days before. She had acute kidney failure and a payment of £800 was taken on account of treatment to be given. Even after treatment there was no hope of survival, why were we not offered the kindest option of ending her life in a peaceful manner at that point? The last memory my Son has of his beloved Cat was one of distress. He was not offered the option to stay with her and hold her whilst she was euthanised. This company’s ethics require thorough investigation. They are a money making machine preying on the despair of loving and caring people; if only this ‘Business’ shared the same morals and devotion. They have a monopoly on out of hours referrals and my Goodness they abuse this entitlement. I hope you are all proud of yourselves! Despicable attitude and treatment.

02/02/2023 Now finally received standard response that is used so often as a reply. This Business knows exactly what it is doing and is geared for such reviews. Shameful. My report has been sent to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons

Really bad experience last week after…

Really bad experience last week after taking our dog to The Willows for over 13 years. Have complained and been completely fobbed off. This practice doesn’t care about its customers. Staff seriously need customer service training.

Worst vet of the year

I wish there was an option for zero stars. My beautiful 13 year old dog went into this vets with a sore leg and died 7 days later with acute kidney failure after being given an xray without any bloods being taken and an injection of meloxicam which i'd told them so many times she couldn't have. And the reception is manned by dragons who make you feel so unwelcome too. Absolutely heart broken. I wouldn't recommend this vet if it was the last place on earth.

This vets used to be good but no…

This vets used to be good but no longer. They say you need several blood tests to determine illnesses then say it’s for diagnosis but for a different reason which is then not covered by insurance. They mislead you and charge so much more than other vets. They are very unhelpful with insurance claims, refuse to do any direct insurance claims and some of the vets have no bedside manner and it all just feels that all they are about is making money. I have since heard that others are finding the same issues with Willow. I would not recommend.

Overpriced and Underwhelming

This is an extremely overpriced practice and the celebrity vets who saw my pet had little bedside manner and no compassion whatsoever.

I contacted them, as requested in their response to my review, and I have not heard a word - clearly their responses to reviews are pure marketing spin to deflect bad press. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

Good care but inexplicably charging…

Good care but inexplicably charging double the going rate for similar investigations elsewhere. Our cat was unfortunately not covered by insurance as he became ill during the insurance waiting period. We were charged over £400 for the initial consult and just over £1000 for the echocardiogram. A similar practice has quoted us only £717 in total for the same investigations, so half the price. I have also found similar charges at half the price at other referral practices. I understand that the premises and experts are a costly resource but this is taking advantage of owners and pets' misfortune. Please can we be refunded part of this amount as it is financially crippling. Even if we had valid pet insurance I suspect the threshold would be reached very quickly. You will be losing followup patients this way. Very disappointing for an otherwise good service.

Now she’s just a number

Our puppy was referred to willows a year ago for an operation on her leg. Couldn’t fault her care, they were amazing with her so we were confident we would want willows to look after her when the time came to have her Spayed. Called willows to book her in to be told she can’t have the operation with them as she’s not registered for primary care despite her being in their care before. Oh but If we were to pay £650 for a lap spay then that’s fine and the rule doesn’t apply ? Whatever happened to freedom of choice? Left feeling just like a number and not even a hint of the care that was provided previously. Such a shame as they were so helpful before.

My 7 year old cavalier was showing…

My 7 year old cavalier was showing signs of MVD , we took her to Willows and she was diagnosed with heart failure - we were not pushed to have expensive X-rays , instead Opted for an echo scan which diagnosed the problem straight away . Eva is now doing very well on her meds & she received excellent care .
I’m so grateful , Fabio her vet was extremely professional and helpful , thank you .
As with all vets , treatments and scans etc are expensive - but we were able to get Willows to claim directly from our insurers for a £40 admin fee - I would highly recommend ….

AVOID THIS SURGERY THEY ARE JUST THERE…

AVOID THIS SURGERY THEY ARE JUST THERE TO MAKE MONEY!!!!

Our cat was referred to Willows after it was ran over.

We had a consultation with the vet that cost over £400 and lasted just 15 mins.

In that time the vet said our cat had a 60% chance of survival if they carried out treatment. The vets already had X-rays from the original vets which confirmed 5 broken bones, even though they said with treatment our cat would have a 60% chance of survival which we thought was amazing.

However the next day after a £1,200 CT scan the vet changed there opinion and said it would be best to put our cat down.

In total we were charged £2,700 plus just to have our cat put down. We have still not been given a proper answer as to why a £400 consultation with a specialist vet could not confirm our cat had no chance of survival but a £1,200 CT scan could.

Either their vets have no consultation skills or they just wanted to make more monies with an over priced CT scan.

We are taking this to the Royal Veterinary College to dispute the CT scan.

Quality of care slipping

Recently it's been an absolute mess, misdiagnosing and pushing for euthanasia rather than treatment or further investigation for completely treatable ailments.
Unless you're getting flea/worm treatment, vaccinations or neutering/spaying, would NOT recommend if you value your pets wellbeing.

Very professional …

Seems like a very professional referal centre , staff very nice and the neurologist we saw took time to explain and you felt that it wasn't rushed . I would of given 5 stars had we been contacted first , the local vet refered us and we ended up a day before the appointment phoning them up as we didn't know what the procedure was with our dog but they did apologise for this and quickly put us at ease and sorted the pet insurance claim for us .

Outstanding Willows teamwork.

We were referred to the Willows on Saturday 8th after our working cocker George had no feeling in his back legs. Emergency surgery was carried out on 2 discs.
We were kept informed day and night and his care has been outstanding.
George is making great progress and thanks to the team at the Willows we can look forward to many more years to make lots of memories with George . We cannot thank everyone enough.Highly Recommend the Willows

First Class

Brilliant, kind and friendly service from every member of staff at the Willows. Archie had corneal surgery, was assessed Monday and operated on Wednesay. He has had eye surgery here before too so it was my decision to bring him back, I knew he was going to be well looked after by the very caring staff. First class service.

Alfie & his slipped disc

My cockapoo Alfie was admitted with a suspected slipped disk . From the moment we arrived until we took him home a week later . Alfie was so well cared for by all the team and so were we . Daily updates and the reassurances all the way . We have a few months yet to get him back to full health but we know he’s had the best care so far and we are so Thankful for Willows .

Thank you

We had to rush our dog, Nala, into Willows as an emergency. The staff there acted immediately to respond and see to Nala. We received calls every morning and every evening, where we were given a detailed update of Nala's progress, and thankfully, she recovered from her ordeal well. We now have Nala back home and we can't thank the staff enough for aiding her recovery and looking after her when she needed it. We know that if it wasn't for the team at Willows we would have lost our beautiful Nala and for that we will be forever grateful. Thank you ❤️
