Thawed out meat on a hot day
DHL delivered the four venison fillets over 24 hours after collecting it and on one of the hottest days of the year. So all coolants in the package had defrosted and the meat was warmish. They had clearly made no attempt to keep it refrigerated. Not sure whether itis safe to eat or OK to freeze. I tried to contact the Wild Meat Company for advice, but without success.

Thank you for getting in touch. An email was sent to you yesterday afternoon, but in hindsight, a follow-up phone call would have been more helpful—we’re sorry we didn’t reach you directly.
As explained in the email, your venison loin fillets were sent as chilled, not frozen, so they had not defrosted in transit. Our packaging is specifically designed to keep products chilled for up to 48 hours, and in this case, the delivery was made within that timeframe.
Based on this, the fillets should be absolutely fine to eat or to freeze.
If you have any further concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch—we’re here to help.

Excellent
As always, the meat received was of the very highest quality. Sutton Hoo chicken is simply the best and the Blythburgh pork is outstanding.

Good meat
The meat is good and delivery was on the day I selected. Would be good if I could have used paypal to buy, and I'm a little wary of using DHL for such time-sensitive goods, as I've had less than ideal experiences with them on other deliveries.

You don’t know what you’re getting!!
I telephoned to check whether the Creedy Carver Duck I was at the point of buying would be fresh and not frozen and was assured it would be fresh and chilled but on receipt it looked as if it had been frozen. Despite this the label gave me the impression I could freeze it so it made me think perhaps it hadn’t been frozen so I contacted them again to check and —- it had been frozen - good job I didn’t re freeze it then??
Looking back over my emails the same thing happened when I bought a CC duck from them in 2023 .
Apparently there is some ‘hidden’ info not plain to see
( like other websites) about items might be frozen.
I will never buy from the Wild Meat Company again because I like to KNOW whether I am buying frozen meat or fresh and it doesn’t make any difference even when you call to check - you’re told one thing but get the opposite!

Thank you for your message, and I’m truly sorry to hear about your experience with the Creedy Carver duck. We understand how important it is to know exactly what you're ordering, especially when it comes to fresh versus frozen products — and even more so when you've taken the time to call us and check in advance.
We sincerely apologise for the confusion and the incorrect information you were given. You're absolutely right — products should be clearly labelled, and our team should be able to provide accurate and consistent advice. We completely understand your frustration, particularly given that this isn’t the first time it has happened, and that’s not acceptable.
We’re currently reviewing the way this information is presented on our website, as well as reinforcing internal guidance to make sure customers are always given the correct details about the condition of our products. Your feedback highlights a serious area for improvement, and we’re grateful to you for bringing it to our attention.

Finally after buying the hot smoked deer sausages i cooked them today on the bbq. What a disappointment it was like bitting into a salt sausage. So much salt couldn't taste anything else. So many dissapointed people
