I went into Wicks Stockport this afternoon needed help with a latch for my internal door. Upon arrival I politely asked a lady for some help I took my old one in and she just looked at me awkwardly and pointed to where they were. I was unsure which latch I needed and just needed some guidance. I chose one and went to the till looked lost and unsure at the one I’d choose. I asked for help again and was spoken to very rudely and said they don’t really give advice and it’s only limited help they can give. I was upset in the manner I was spoken and noticed a lady waiting to be served so I let her go in front of me . I was nearly in tears as I really needed the latch but no one would help me. I was about to leave. Looking around there were a group of staff who were laughing but no one wanted to help. I walked across and spoke to a young man who seemed approachable as the others gave me bad looks. I explained my situation and explained I just needed some help to establish I’d got the correct size. He was very helpful and suggested we measure the product and walked me to a till. I was very appreciative of his help and told him so as 2 previous members of staff weren’t prepared to help me.
The product I chose was the right size.

People need help when they go into to do DIY PROJECTS and staff should be happy to help.

Had it not been for OLLY I was about to leave in tears.

We were struggling to lift some coping stones that we needed; Elvis, a member of staff, promptly came to our aid. Not only did he help us get them onto the trolley, he helped get them into the car! Excellent service, very polite and helpful, made our day

Helpful store staff ensured I found everything I wanted. Special mention to Nigel who was very helpful on two occasions.

Had a great experience at Wickes today, thanks to Andy. I originally called out an “excuse me” to someone else for support and wasn’t acknowledged. Managed to get Andy’s attention Who kindly helped me lift lots of paving slabs onto the trolley came with me to pay and then helped me load them in to my car massive help, courteous and kind. Thank you Andy

I went in today to collect Moisture Resistant plasterboard. I asked one of the staff (named Neil) to help me, confirm which label was with which moisture for measurements etc...

Neil went out of his way to help me. His customer service is the reason I left a review. He not only helped me, but ensured I collected the right moisture boards. He realised I was alone and helped me out them on my trolley. And I know it's not their policy but he also helped me load my van with the plasterboards. He was extremely polite, friendly and professional. Wickes should value this man, and give him a raise!

From start to finish, the experience with Wickes has been stressful, frustrating, and far from the professional service we were promised. Our design consultant arrived two hours late to the initial home consultation. When arrived, it felt very rushed with the consultant consistently saying how he had somewhere else to be so needed to be quick. Furthermore, his repeated use of inappropriate and foul language during both the home and in-store consultations was unprofessional and made us feel uncomfortable.
Once the kitchen had been delivered, we began to fit this with our own kitchen fitter and noticed some issues. Firstly, we’ve had to bring the kitchen 100mm off the wall to compensate for the pipework on the wall to make room for the wine cooler and the washing machine. The pipework wasn’t taken into account when the kitchen was designed. As a result of this, the wall will now have to be built out meaning further expense. This has now changed the look of the kitchen as the units now extend over the patio doors.
We opted for an extracting hob, an expensive appliance that we’ve always wanted. The hob could not be fitted due to the hidden cutlery drawer being positioned underneath it, meaning if we want to keep this hob, we’ll have to remove the hidden drawer. The hob also can’t be extracted out due to being built into a drawer pack so we’ll have to use the built in charcoal filter, meaning a fan will also have to be fitted. We also weren’t made aware that the hob would be a charcoal filter.
We requested that the drawer underneath the oven to be one big drawer when we had the initial design consultation. The drawer that has been delivered and fitted is two separate drawers.
When fitting, we could see that the cupboard at the side of the floor to ceiling units was the wrong size, on the drawings the soil pipe box was measured incorrectly and in reality left a large gap that looked incomplete and unsightly. We have ordered another and moved the smaller one to the other side. We were made to pay for the correct size unit by our design consult, despite the assistant store manager admitting later that the unit was measured incorrectly by the consultant. This has since been refunded.
Throughout the process, items for the kitchen have been missing, with items being paid for completely being missed off the delivery. We have also opened our hob to fit it, and discovered that the hob had been smashed in transit.
The washing machine that was delivered has also left a giant stain on our brand new oak wooden flooring.
A complaint went into Wickes Customer Service and no action was made, stating that we would have to talk to the store manager and design consultant, despite the issues coming from this end.
For the kitchen worktop, we were recommended a worktop fitter, someone who is employed by Wickes, to fit our worktop by our consultant. The seams where the worktops have been fitted together are unfinished, one has gaps and the other has a blue stain all along it. The worktop fitter is now ignoring all of our attempts to contact him, despite Wickes saying that they would also speak to him to get him to contact us.
General contact and customer service has been appalling. On numerous occasions we’ve been told to expect a call back, and never received anything and it can often take a while for emails to be responded to.
Unfortunately this whole experience has caused a lot of stress on us. We are first time buyers and expected a seamless process from start to finish, which we have not experienced. It has meant we have had to halt our kitchen fitter, pay for extra days work to try and reconfigure everything. Ideally we would have liked some support from Wickes, as it seems like there have been a few errors on their part. We chose Wickes based on strong recommendations, expecting a smooth, professional experience. Unfortunately, what we received fell far short of that.
We are seeking a formal response and resolution from Wickes, including:
• Acknowledgment of the issues and poor service we’ve experienced.
• Compensation for additional fitting costs, delays, and damaged goods.
• Urgent resolution of outstanding worktop and product quality issues.

This is the 3rd time, Olly and the 2nd time, Elvis have exceeded in their customer care at the Stockport branch.
Not only are they the most helpful and friendly members of the wickes team they are funny and professional. I just love shopping there. 😁

Picked up a 6ft x 5ft fence panel in My Campervan, I would never have got it in without the Help of Nigel at the Stockport Store, stayed with Me until it was safely in, He's a great asset to have as a Customer facing Member of Your Staff please look after Him at pay review time. 👍

6 weeks in and kitchen not finished. No lights for 3 weeks.
Customer service do not reply to emails they are non existent unless you leave a poor review on here and then they reply.
We have lots of outstanding items. Fitter does not respond either.
Be aware of this if thinking of ordering a kitchen from Wickes. If something goes wrong you have nowhere to go.

One of the staff at your store, a young chap called Dan, went above and beyond to be helpful with a project that I was collecting materials for. Very good knowledge for someone so young.

Extremely helpful staff, I went in and described the cabinet brackets I was looking for and before I knew it I was walking out with exactly what I needed. Thank you.

Having sampled Wickes on a few occasions I am very impressed with their products and service. Staff are helpful and friendly and the prices very competitive. I haven’t used B&Q in a long time but had to recently. Absolutely hopeless, no staff, and out of stock when their website said different!? Wickes are my go to store now. Thank you to the guys for loading my car with heavy bags of slate chippings! Recommend a visit.

The knowledge and help of Lisa at the Stockport store. She mixed the paint colour we wanted , which was also a good price

We needed quite a lot of decorating products and despite clear to find… we still managed to struggle! Lisa took us round the store to find everything we needed. Whilst being thorough and informative with her product knowledge. Was a stark contrast to our interaction with a B&Q colleague

I ordered on Sunday and went to click and collect area on Monday after recieving a text. I followed the online instructions and a very nice gentleman brought it the car and loaded it for me.

We were attended to by Tina at Stockport ans was treated with tremendous amount of experience and kindness. Our list of goods which we bought for a job were excellent and available, everything we need was easy to choose and Tina gave advice and was excellent in organising the buying and future delivery. I was extremely impressed and pleased in the professional way and service we got. Thank you very much for everything. Please will you offer a massive thank you to her for everything she has done.
